Varsity Tutors was a lifesaver for me passing my GACE -Math Basic Skills Test! From the beginning…read moreof the process which included questions about what I specifically needed, time frame I needed to take test, and what tutor was an amazing start. I loved that everyone was eager to help and eager in my success. I was paired up with an amazing tutor! We used the online platform that I was really nervous about and felt that was not going to work. However to my surprise it worked! My tutor and I had one technical difficulty out of all the sessions I had, after that we were good to go. The next day after our session with the technical difficulties, I got a call from Melissa and she credited me the time lost from our session. I really appreciate that they cared to follow up & see how things went. Brittany my tutor was amazing. She was very patient with me. She restored a lot of confidence for me regarding math since there were things I had not seen since middle school. She found practice questions similar to what I needed to know. She took pictures of her notes & emailed them to me. Brittany has amazing energy, at no point did I feel uncomfortable with her or her style of teaching/tutoring! Last, I'd loved to say I PASSED my test with the assistance of Varsity Tutors!! Awesome company, people, & tutors!!

Hubs and I celebrated our anniversary with a helicopter ride around Atlanta over the summer. We…read morepurchased a Groupon deal. The deal had two options: over Atlanta or over Lake Lanier. We chose Atlanta. Booking was easy and went smoothly. The staff was very friendly over the phone and in person. Blue Ridge Helicopter is located at Gwinnett Airport in Lawrenceville. The first date we chose unfortunately didn't work out. Heavy rain was expected that afternoon. Our pilot Chris did not recommend us flying that afternoon and asked if we were open to rescheduling. We rescheduled for a couple of weeks ahead and the weather was perfect! Chris is experienced and was very knowledgeable of Atlanta history and landmarks. They informed us that if we wanted to book again in the future, we would pay the same Groupon rate. Very competitive to other helicopter tours!

We booked a 1-hour sunset helicopter tour and were quoted a flat rate of $600 for two people. The…read moreflight itself was beautiful -- the views were incredible and something we'll always remember. Unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note due to communication and billing issues. When we arrived, we discovered there was an additional 2.7% credit card fee that had not been disclosed ahead of time. More concerning, about 30 minutes into the flight the pilot descended to land because he believed we had booked only a 30-minute ride. We were surprised because we had clearly scheduled a 1-hour sunset flight two months earlier, and our name was even listed on the schedule board for a one-hour tour. After we clarified the misunderstanding, we went back up and completed the full flight. However, when we landed, we were told the total would now be $775 because we had gone slightly over the hour -- even though the extra time resulted from the earlier misunderstanding, not from any request on our part. After discussion, the total was slightly reduced, but we still ended up paying more than the original quoted amount. I'm sharing this mainly so future customers can be prepared to ask questions about timing, billing policies, and additional fees before flying. The actual flight was scenic and memorable, but the end result left us disappointed.

Fantastic friendly mom & pop owned gunsmith, FFL and NRA certified trainers…read more Ambience: The first thing you should know about this place is it's a house. In a neighborhood. Don't worry: you've come to the right place. Their office and shop (see the photos) is located on the lower levels of their house. They have everything you might expect in a small firearms training / gunsmithing shop, including a fair amount of surveillance cameras. Customer service / Knowledge: I spoke with Marie several times on the phone and via email before deciding to use these folks as my FFL for a purchase from Gunbroker.com. At each point they were knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I'm confident they helped speed along the process. When my firearm arrived, they were quick to reach out to me to set up a time when I could pick it up. And finally, when I did pick up my firearm they were quick and to the point and answered all questions I had about their training offerings. Value for money: They have very reasonable FFL transfer fees (see their website or call them for current pricing) -- I paid $25 for a handgun. They do a fair bit of gunsmithing and are very knowledgeable about the NRA and gun laws, so they are a much better FFL (than others) in that respect. Tips: - Remember you're in a house. Ask them what direction to point your firearm in before attempting to clear / field strip it. - Appointments are advised (again: it's in a neighborhood) - Ask about their gunsmithing options - When taking a class, Marie provides lunch Summary: Easily accessible from all parts of Gwinnett county, these folks might be worth driving across town for if your current FFL or gunsmith isn't cutting it for you. I highly recommend them.
