We chose Atlanta. Booking was easy and went smoothly. The staff was very friendly over the phone and in person. Blue Ridge Helicopter is located at Gwinnett Airport in Lawrenceville. The first date we chose unfortunately didn't work out. Heavy rain was expected that afternoon. Our pilot Chris did not recommend us flying that afternoon and asked if we were open to rescheduling. We rescheduled for a couple of weeks ahead and the weather was perfect! Chris is experienced and was very knowledgeable of Atlanta history and landmarks. They informed us that if we wanted to book again in the future, we would pay the same Groupon rate. Very competitive to other helicopter tours!

Unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note due to communication and billing issues. When we arrived, we discovered there was an additional 2.7% credit card fee that had not been disclosed ahead of time. More concerning, about 30 minutes into the flight the pilot descended to land because he believed we had booked only a 30-minute ride. We were surprised because we had clearly scheduled a 1-hour sunset flight two months earlier, and our name was even listed on the schedule board for a one-hour tour. After we clarified the misunderstanding, we went back up and completed the full flight. However, when we landed, we were told the total would now be $775 because we had gone slightly over the hour -- even though the extra time resulted from the earlier misunderstanding, not from any request on our part. After discussion, the total was slightly reduced, but we still ended up paying more than the original quoted amount. I'm sharing this mainly so future customers can be prepared to ask questions about timing, billing policies, and additional fees before flying. The actual flight was scenic and memorable, but the end result left us disappointed.

However, sitting in a room for 10 hours a day for a week and having an "instructor" read to me isn't it. Went two days and decided I could read to myself. I'm sure people that may have a tough time focusing at home could benefit from it, but that's what libraries are for. I'd suggest trying to study on your own first before spending the money to be read to. Upon asking for a refund (and only receiving a partial one) the owner told me I would not be able to get my A&P in 2 months... I took that as a challenge and did it cheaper with weeks to spare.

I bought this in December 2016, and did the flight April 2018. We were long distance so we had been trying to plan this when he would visit. The weather was unfortunate every time, so we had to keep rescheduling. The staff here was so helpful and quick to respond in rescheduling our flight a number of times. We got to the office by PDK airport and we were greeted by the staff. They were very welcoming. He was able to do a flight simulator prior to flying. We met up with Spencer, who would be flying with us. He was very nice and a great teacher in walking through the steps of checking everything before you fly and how to actually fly the plane. He allowed my boyfriend to do most of the flying, but he was right there in case he would've had to step in or takeover with his own controls. The tour of the city was awesome and my boyfriend loved it once his nerves subsided! The weather was perfect and we went around sunset. I was so happy I got to ride along while we flew to experience it also. This would be a great date night and I would totally do this again! My boyfriend was talking about wanting his pilot license now that he did that. If you're interested in seeing what it's like to fly, you should definitely check this out!
