Here's a quick rundown: - The eggplant curry - I've not had this before and really enjoyed it. It was especially spicy - small red chilies were abundant. Very reasonably priced at $3.75. - I really enjoyed the mutton biryani. Lots of tender chunks of meat and I love the hard boiled egg. Goes well with the traditional cucumber raita. $16 - The butter chicken was pretty good and was actually dark meat. However, there were only two pieces in that small container - barely one chicken thigh - for $7 I thought it was a rip-off. - The pakoras were a deep fried corn fritter. I didn't really like them as they were mostly batter, which doesn't interest me. Totally fine for $2 though. Overall, I'd like to try out Garthy's other offerings and will be back!

The foods are packed with spice, but plenty of options for those who are more spice averse as well. The flavors on the Lampriase is as 90% as authentic as you would find in Sri Lanka. And the flavors on the curries are great. The curries available can vary day to day depending on the seasons and what's available in the market. The last time I went I had Jack Fruit curry, Beans, Fish Curry, Banana Flower curry which were all really good. They are quite generous with the portions (at least the last time I went) but I am worried that this generosity doesn't lead to downsizing or totally cutting down on stuff in the future to manage the margins as this is probably the only Sinhalese style Lankan restaurant in town! Hate losing it as we have been before! Note: Sri Lankan Tamil and Sinhalese cuisines are quite distinct. While there are many Lankan Tamil food restaurants, it's rare to find a Sinhalese style restaurant. I would get whole bites of just plain white rice. It was extremely off-putting. Finally I gave up and took the whole thing apart and began eating it with a fork and knife.
