Please bring back the original carrot cake it was the carrot cake in town that rivaled the one at Shutters in Santa Monica by Susie's Cakes . Food was very delicious, I ordered the strip steak medium rare with scalloped potatoes, steak was perfectly cook, potatoes were cheesy and full of flavors, I also received a red velvet tiramisu which was tasty if you love red velvet and tiramisu this will be a good choice of dessert. Service was amazing as well, my server was always attentive and making sure that I was comfortable and answered any questions I had. It's a special kind of place with the appropriate price for that kind of experience . Josh - you provided that $$$ service! Yes, you will pay but the Australian Waygu was cooked perfectly....paired with the lobster tail just as the chef suggested. Don't miss the bread service. The soft yeast rolls topped with sea salt and paired with a honey butter and cherry preserve was the perfect salty/sweet combo. Add the truffle Mac and cheese is a flavor explosion. The cocktails were terrific. The Mistletoe Kiss was the perfect holiday cocktail and my husband's midnight express was delicious. We finished the night off with the s'mores brownie and the crème brûlée. I took my husband here on June 11 to celebrate his birthday!!! The food and atmosphere were warm and inviting . The decor was simultaneously elegant, and understated with pops of glitter and bling everywhere!!! An older gentleman kept coming around to see if everything was okay And brought us this amazing Greek sparkling water He was the sweetest!! Typically, a steak restaurant would be a place for a celebration dinner but I was glad a friend suggested we check it out following the recent opening. I really liked the interior - modern art-deco style with bold colors, velvet chairs, sparkly chandeliers, mirrors and unique art. Our server, Jack, was very nice, patient and happy to answer all of our questions. We went with the fresh catch, flounder, which was local, crispy and flaky but slightly too salty. It was served on cannelloni beans, artichokes and tomatoes. I wasn't impressed with the beans, not sure if fish on beans is a good pair to me. We also tried the prime flat iron since it was a tender cut with some marbling and served sliced which was nice for sharing. It was tasty with the red wine Demi-glaze. All of the sauces sounded delicious. They have an impressive selection of high-end steaks. For sides we had the mushroom ragout and truffle mac n cheese. I really liked the mushrooms. Worked great with the steak and the mac was good. We didn't have room for dessert but they are made in-house. Also the pasta entrees are made in-house. Made reservations online and ate at this new restaurant with another yelper, April. This restaurant used to be Port city chophouse, it's A lot nicer and fancier inside with multiple glass chandeliers and lights, dim light settings. The colors were interesting..especially around the bar, with pink and green and tropical palm wallpaper. Salmon is not local, but the catch of the day will always be local. Oysters were the special of the day, including fat dog (plump, a little sweet) from New Hampshire and smaller ones called high point oysters (saltier) from Long Island Sound. The pork and chicken are from North Carolina, the chicken is from Joyce farms. Beef comes from Meyers Ranch in Montana. Bread and pasta are made in house. We started off with the yeast rolls that came with honey rosemary butter, which were good. For entrées, we tried the prime flat iron with the red wine glace. The ends were more cooked well done, otherwise, the rest was cooked medium per our request. It was a little tender. The red wine glace complemented it well. Also had the catch of the day, flounder, that came with cannellini beans, sautéed, artichokes, and blistered tomatoes. The fish was cooked well, tender and flaky, but a little too salty for my taste. It had a nice seared crust though. The cannellini beans were a little undercooked. Didn't care much for the artichokes. We ordered sides, the mushroom ragout, and the truffle four cheese macaroni. The macaroni pasta was not made in house, tasted okay. It was heavy and creamy and the truffle flavor was mild. The mushroom ragout was good, had a mixture of Cremini, shiitake, and kings trumpet. Skipped dessert since we were too full. The desserts were made in house and the options were grapefruit cheesecake, chocolate lava cake, carrot cake, and tiramisu. Our waiter, Jack was very knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients. He was attentive in the beginning while there were not that many people present but as the dining room filled up with more people, he was more preoccupied. The tables were a little bit too close to each other. A guy that sat behind me bumped into my chair a couple of times. A guy, maybe the manager, was walking around the dining area with no smile. It was weird that he didn't stop by to talk to anyone, especially making eye contact with me two times. I always appreciate when the upper management stop by to talk to the customers. if I could do half star, would give 3 1/2 stars but went up since Jack was overall good waiter. The food is very expensive here so be prepared to spend some dough! I wouldn't mind coming back again, and if I did, I would try the homemade pasta, other steak options, get the rolls again, and try more of the sides. read more

Hands down one of the worst steaks I've ever eaten. I ordered the Wagyu Flank Steak and creamed spinach. I knew that neither dish was freshly prepared when it came out 3 minutes after placing my order. I was astonished and thought that there had to be a mistake (wrong person). The "wagyu flank steak" tasted like lighter fluid. I ate a single piece and left my plate, and I was never checked in on. The creamed spinach was caked onto the dish, has a peculiar consistency, and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. I was never checked in on once while sitting at the bar despite having an empty wine glass and no water. Someone came toward the end of my meal asking if I wanted a to-go container as 90% of my steak sat uneaten in front of me. No one asked if anything was wrong or why I hadn't eaten my meal. We enjoyed our evening out at this restaurant. While expensive and totally a la carte, the food was very tasty and the service was terrific. Sitting outdoors was a perfect way to spend a quiet evening. My only reason for to giving five stars is that my steak (ordered Medium) was a little overcooked. The place was located where the port city chop house was. The owner also owns a bunch of other upscale restaurants such as the KIPOS nearby. The place is nicely decorated. The ambience is great. Service was good. So was the food. But I just feel it's a little too pricey. The bread was very fresh and the honey butter was nice, both of which are made in house. We shared the caesar salad as appetizers between the three of us. It was also good. For entree I got double-cut rack of lamb. It was decent, but not that good to justify paying 50+dollars for it with no sides. The same goes for all the others. All in all, it's a really nice place, the decor, service, ambience are all top notch. But even you know you are ready to pay for the experience, it's still kinda overly costly. The G Prime experience is generally a very good one. At least for me, however I think they need to rethink the burger. The bun overwhelms the patty. The cheese was overcooked and rigid. The Let,Tom,pickle were wilted and added zero to the dish. A high end burger should make the meat stand out. Go try the one a PERLE and let me know. Fries were limp and extremely over salted. I'll go back but not ordering that again. Also honorable mention to the $8 glass of sparkling water. I also had the $18 glass of Pinot Noir, not at all memorable. The attention we received from Kim was wonderful and never felt rushed. The food was absolutely perfect and there was nothing we would have changed or recommended...it was truly a great experience! Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the portions of the sides were very sharable. I've often said, I can go to a restaurant and have mediocre food and great service, and I would go back. G Prime! There's just so much to say about this amazing restaurant. Let me start by saying we went to celebrate a birthday. Birthdays are always special and G Prime made us feel just that. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were very personable, attentive, friendly, and professional. They even paid attention to the details of our "house selling" celebration. Absolutely phenomenal! I was extremely impressed with our server, Jack. Thank you for making us feel special. Now for the ambiance. I'm a lover of all things decor so naturally my eyes started dancing with delight when I first walked into the door. The colors and decor reminded me of a designer I've followed for some time now, Indigo Pruitt. Her work is like nothing I've ever seen before and that's exactly how I felt walking into this gorgeous establishment. The colors were fun and different, the wall hangings and decor were classy and elegant. And even the chandeliers, I wanted to take home with me. They were a mix between glam and industrial. Unlike anything I've ever seen before. Wow. Just wow. Even the chairs in the restaurant had a unique color matching to them that I've never seen (it was like a burgundy/purple tint with pink). Who would have thought to combine those two colors together, along with a mix of a teal color on the walls. Ahhh! I was simply in heaven the entire time. If you want to impress your spouse, date or client, please take them to this gorgeous establishment. The photos online do this place no justice at all. They're gorgeous but seeing it in person is no match for what the photographs explain. I'm not even sure how you capture its true beauty in a photograph. Almost like driving down the highway in Colorado and trying to capture a realistic photo of the view you see with your actual eyes. Or trying to photograph the moon or a sunset. It's just a remarkable view only your eyes can witness. If I could describe my ideal decor style in one word it would be "GPrime". Kudos to the designer of this space. You did an absolutely incredible job! Now on the order. We started with some mocktails. Now I know what you're thinking. How do you celebrate a birthday without alcohol? Easy! You order mocktails and enjoy moments and conversations. Mocktails have become the new thing of socializing for us. But these mocktails weren't your typical (mix some juices together and make a mocktail) kind of mocktails. Mine was flavor infused with garnished candied ginger. Ah! My tastebuds started dancing as we enjoyed them while we waited for our Colossal Shrimp Cocktail appetizer, which didn't disappoint. For our meal, we ordered "The Taste of GPrime", which was a $55 per person option, available Monday - Thursday. I chose the Scarlet Butter Salad with strawberry, cucumber, red onion, candied walnuts, goat cheese, and citrus vinaigrette. What a starter! My tongue danced to the beat of its own drum as I savored the flavor of each bite of that salad. Next came the entree. I chose the Crispy Seared Salmon with the Roasted Brussels Sprouts and the Horseradish Crème sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the brussels sprouts were some of the best I think I've EVER tasted, I've tried Brussels sprouts at just about every restaurant I've dined in that has had them available on their menu and I'll just say that's been at least 50 times over the past 10 years. Our meal was completed with a NC Blueberry Panna Cotta made with seasonal jam and ILM crumble. And although we did not get a chance to enjoy it because we had to leave to experience a sunset cruise, we did get an opportunity to have it boxed up so that we could enjoy it later. I had nothing but the most amazing experience in this fairly new (7 months now) restaurant, but I can't recommend it enough to any of you looking for an experience like no other. I dined here with two girlfriends this evening. We had a 6pm reservation and we had some time to look all around. The outside area is beautiful and the bathrooms are even cool. The bar area is very nice and the decor is a modern chic with really great photos. We ate in the main dining area. Are server Grant was phenomenal. We asked him so many questions and he made us laugh. I started off with 2 raw oysters. They were perfect and the migonaitte was superb. They started with bread service and they may have been some of the best rolls that we had ever had. Even the butter was perfect. We each had a Ceasar salad and it was nothing too special. We also split a crab cake and I have finally found the best one in Wilmington!!! It was a Maryland crab cake lovers dream! My entree was the tenderloin tartare. The taste was divine but I do not understand why they would serve it with homemade chips. Bad decision. Hopefully the chef will look into putting something more palatable with it. They each had the Brussel sprouts and a filet. I had a bite of the steak and it was seasoned very well and had a lovely taste. They were served with chimichurri and Gorgonzola garlic butter. It's definitely not worth the prices they're charging. Same thing w the drinks, they haven't mastered classic cocktails. I will say the steak tartare was very good, but unfortunately, they took it off the menu. Their concept is basically a steakhouse. There's a ton of steakhouses (including high end ones) in the area. Would love to see something a little more unique/skilled, with a venue (and prices) like that. Also, if you're sitting at the bar, double check your bill. The young bartenders may slip and add an extra drink or two to your check. No harm (I caught it), but worth noting. read more

The Mrs and I, recently dined at this fine dining steakhouse establishment. It's a nicely decorated restaurant with a lot of seating, which filled up with diners, after we sat down. We quickly ordered bread along with shrimp ceviche. The bread was buttery and warm with a choice of jelly or butter spread. The shrimp ceviche was okay, but lacked a tangy flavor and seemed flat. The chips they come with were crispy and flaky. The soup du jour was a beef soup, so I didn't order it. No crab bisque, doh! The Mrs and I, both ordered the salmon entree, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but thought the chips they sprinkle on the plate were useless and didn't add to the dish. We shared the Mac n cheese side which was creamy and tasty. The salmon entree was soaked in butter and oil, that left a greasy residue on the plate after we finished. Both the crème brûlée and blueberry pie were good. We liked the blueberry pie with a scoop of ice cream the most. The service was on point. It is a pricey menu, even if you're just getting apps. Our bill came to $150 w/o tip. Overall it was a decent experience, but felt it could've been better for the price you are paying. read more
