    Crème Brûlée

It's a special kind of place with the appropriate price for that kind of experience . Josh - you provided that $$$ service! Yes, you will pay but the Australian Waygu was cooked perfectly....paired with the lobster tail just as the chef suggested. Don't miss the bread service. The soft yeast rolls topped with sea salt and paired with a honey butter and cherry preserve was the perfect salty/sweet combo. Add the truffle Mac and cheese is a flavor explosion. The cocktails were terrific. The Mistletoe Kiss was the perfect holiday cocktail and my husband's midnight express was delicious. We finished the night off with the s'mores brownie and the crème brûlée. If you want to flash back to the roaring 20's like the decor, and be treated like you are in a fine restaurant in a big city, then you will be more than willing to pay the price.

I took my husband here on June 11 to celebrate his birthday!!! The food and atmosphere were warm and inviting . The decor was simultaneously elegant, and understated with pops of glitter and bling everywhere!!! An older gentleman kept coming around to see if everything was okay And brought us this amazing Greek sparkling water He was the sweetest!! Everyone there was really nice and respectful, and the food was delicious as well. We definitely will return for more things that were on the menu!!! Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert and I knew I should've taken something home ... next time for sure!!!

My husband had the NY Strip and had the Flat Iron Wagyu. Sides were the tallow fries and four cheese mac!

My husband had the NY Strip and I had the Flat Iron Wagyu. Sides were very large and shareable! We got the tallow fries and four cheese mac! Both steaks cooked perfectly to medium rare. The interior decor was beautiful and great vibe! Service was spot on- Everett was great!

Another top-notch evening! Great service, great ambiance and great food!!! These guys have it all together and deserve a drop-in. We are on a 60 day schedule and will definitely be moving that up.

    Flounder, the fresh catch

Typically, a steak restaurant would be a place for a celebration dinner but I was glad a friend suggested we check it out following the recent opening. I really liked the interior - modern art-deco style with bold colors, velvet chairs, sparkly chandeliers, mirrors and unique art. Our server, Jack, was very nice, patient and happy to answer all of our questions. We went with the fresh catch, flounder, which was local, crispy and flaky but slightly too salty. It was served on cannelloni beans, artichokes and tomatoes. I wasn't impressed with the beans, not sure if fish on beans is a good pair to me. We also tried the prime flat iron since it was a tender cut with some marbling and served sliced which was nice for sharing. It was tasty with the red wine Demi-glaze. All of the sauces sounded delicious. They have an impressive selection of high-end steaks. For sides we had the mushroom ragout and truffle mac n cheese. I really liked the mushrooms. Worked great with the steak and the mac was good. We didn't have room for dessert but they are made in-house. Also the pasta entrees are made in-house. I'd come back to try some other menu items.

I just want to say I've lived in this area for YEARS. I've been all over including Ruth Chris. This place is better!!! The server was so sweet. The atmosphere of the restaurant was perfect. I don't know why I paid so much money for MEDIOCRE food at Ruth Chris when this was here.. 20/10 would recommend. The steak was so juicy. The wine was amazing. Crème brûlee was perfect I have no complaints. Also the oysters at Ruth I sent back. This place though!!!!!! Ate every last one, don't wait. Go here.

Best steakhouse ever in Wilmington. Incredibly good service. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. We've been there a handful of times and will continue to go back. We recently went to G Prime for my birthday and we had Niko as our server. She was SO sweet and absolutely made our night. It's so classy and intimate in the restaurant, so I highly recommend.

    Double cut rack of lamb

The place was located where the port city chop house was. The owner also owns a bunch of other upscale restaurants such as the KIPOS nearby. The place is nicely decorated. The ambience is great. Service was good. So was the food. But I just feel it's a little too pricey. The bread was very fresh and the honey butter was nice, both of which are made in house. We shared the caesar salad as appetizers between the three of us. It was also good. For entree I got double-cut rack of lamb. It was decent, but not that good to justify paying 50+dollars for it with no sides. The same goes for all the others. All in all, it's a really nice place, the decor, service, ambience are all top notch. But even you know you are ready to pay for the experience, it's still kinda overly costly. It's cool, but not a place you so eagerly want to go back to.

Went there tonight for a birthday, Josh our server was excellent. He was super attentive, helpful, and friendly. Other members of their staff also came to check up on us and made sure our food was good and we weren't missing anything. Decoration and colors around the restaurant were beautiful to look at. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be coming back.

Medium rare fillet, with Gorgonzola cheese, butter

Lovely staff and good service. As far as the food it was a mixed experience ...the fillet should've been more tender. The Brussels sprout, side dish, was delicious. The flatiron steak had a good flavor and the portions were all large ( except for the cheese plate, which was under generous & needed more cheese ) . We didn't have the cheeseburger, but surprisingly, several people had it and it looked very good.

The best bread. Don't leave without ordering it!

The food, service and ambiance were 10/10. I will definitely be back. I'm excited to try their bar bites and brunch. Perhaps grab a seat on the patio when the weather warms up.

    The G Prime Burger
    Rick G.

The G Prime experience is generally a very good one. At least for me, however I think they need to rethink the burger. The bun overwhelms the patty. The cheese was overcooked and rigid. The Let,Tom,pickle were wilted and added zero to the dish. A high end burger should make the meat stand out. Go try the one a PERLE and let me know. Fries were limp and extremely over salted. I'll go back but not ordering that again. Also honorable mention to the $8 glass of sparkling water. I also had the $18 glass of Pinot Noir, not at all memorable. It a shame because I have reviewed G Prime on Facebook with a rave review. But consistency matters a ton for me.

    Ahi tuna
    Nicole S.

This is such a fun vibe with delicious food. They have indoor seating, a bar, and a few spots outside and everything is decorated to perfection. We were greeted but the hostess and the manager and shown to our seat right away. The menu is very shareable. We got the ahi tuna and bread service for appetizers. The tuna is a must. So flavorful! Then we shared a NY strip, Brussels, and fries. All of which were perfection. Highly recommend.

    What a "Mocktail" should be!

She told us about all of the specials and gave us suggestions to help us select our meal, honestly her personality alone made us want to come back but the food sealed the deal. We started with the Filet Tartine which absolutely blew us away, then shared the beef Wellington and the brussells, this was our first time having a Wellington and on top of being delicious the tableside service was outstanding! The side of brussells were the star for sure, with pancetta and apricot, savory but sweet. So amazing. We also shared a few drinks throughout the meal, the tiramisu martini, the lemon meringue, gardens of Augustus, and the10 year tawny, everything was amazing, though we're definitely coming back for the tiramisu martinis! And finally, don't get me started on the view, the large windows face out over the river and look out to the battleship, we got there right as the sun was setting and added to the romance of it all. Overall we had the best Valentines anniversary of 4 years thanks the Ella and her team at Sugo, Thanks!

It was our first time here, and I had the bacon cheeseburger and she had the Smashburger. If the burger I had isn't considered one of the best burgers in Wilmington, then there is something wrong with my taste buds! The bun wasn't a typical hamburger bun; it had a roasted buttery taste and glaze to it. And the patty was THICK and cooked to a perfect medium-well like I requested, and coated with melted cheese! The crispiness of the edge of the meat combined with the warm, smooth cheese, along with the red onions, bacon, and sauce made for an incredible tasting burger! Next time, I think I'll ask for just a tad bit more sauce, though. The seasoned fries were hot and excellent. I should also comment about the water we drank: it was poured into our glasses from an already chilled bottle, so no ice was needed! The establishment was clean and lit with natural lighting from the extensive windows that make up the entire front of the restaurant. Tony, our host and server, was extremely welcoming, friendly, and attentive. I asked him to let the kitchen staff know how much we loved our burgers, and he even boxed and bagged up our leftovers (I wanted to eat the entire burger then and there, but I would have stretched my belly way too much!). You have every reason to eat here, so go. Right. Now.

When we've come with friends or larger groups, the service has been much more mediocre. The first time we visited, one of the waitresses was surprisingly rude when I asked about vegetarian options. All she said was "salad," despite there being multiple salads (2 out of the 3) on the menu, including a Caesar with anchovy and a wedge salad with bacon. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and was much more helpful and respectful. I'm not sure why vegetarian requests are sometimes treated like an inconvenience or unusual concept. I'm married to a huge meat eater and enjoy going to places he likes, but I do wish vegetarian guests were met with a little more patience and understanding. Especially when I am the one paying the bill. The atmosphere is loud and busy, but they are generally accommodating. For larger parties, they require a credit card to hold the reservation and give a limited grace period, with a fee of around $15 per person for no-shows. I understand why restaurants have policies like this, but it felt a little unfair considering we still had to wait around 15-20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. If guests are expected to strictly follow time slots, I think the restaurant should also try to hold themselves to those same standards. It also took close to two hours for our food to come out, and we repeatedly had to ask for smaller things like water or hot sauce. I completely understand that larger parties can take longer, but we were a group of seven, which didn't seem unusually large. Overall, the food and atmosphere keep us coming back, but the consistency in service could definitely be improved.

Our server Ava knew the menu and read the table well. No overselling, no scripted recitations. She just took care of us. Thanks Ava. The Blackened Chicken Breast came with basmati rice, seasonal vegetables, black bean salsa, and a chipotle cream sauce that worked harder than it had any right to. The flavors didn't compete. They really settled into each other. The Rumcow Salad, loaded with mixed greens, carrot, tomato, onion, cucumber, and wonton strips, we ordered topped with shrimp. It was sharper and more interesting than we had expected. It's a newer spot in Wilmington, and it shows. In The Best Sense. We'll be back for sure!

The service was friendly and attentive, and we started the evening with a bottle of Cambria Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay (2023), which was a nice way to begin dinner. Unfortunately, the food this time around just didn't live up to what we remember. We started with the Asian Tots, which used to be one of the best items on the menu. In the past, the peanut sauce was poured over the top so everything came together as one dish. Now it's served in a small cup on the side, and there isn't enough of it to properly coat the tots. They also stopped finishing the dish with the salt they used to sprinkle on top, and even the presentation has changed -- the silver dome they once used is gone. What used to be a great appetizer has been reduced to something that's simply okay. For the main courses, the results were mixed but mostly disappointing. My blackened chicken was a little overcooked. My wife ordered the miso salmon, and that was overcooked as well -- which is especially noticeable with fish. When salmon goes past the sweet spot it quickly becomes dry, and that seemed to be the case here. None of the food was terrible, but none of it really stood out either. Dessert didn't help much. I ordered the carrot cake, but what arrived looked more like a small cupcake buried under a heavy amount of icing, with a large mound of whipped cream on the side. There wasn't much actual cake there, and it wasn't what I expected from a carrot cake dessert. One thing that stood out during the meal is that it feels like the kitchen may be constantly adjusting dishes -- moving sauces, changing presentations, tweaking things that didn't necessarily need fixing. In restaurants, sometimes the best move is to pick a lane and execute it consistently rather than continually modifying dishes that customers already liked. So here's the bottom line. Rumcow is not the Rumcow of yesteryear. Was the food terrible? No. But it was mostly meh, and that may be the most disappointing part. This used to be a place known for memorable dishes and small details done right. Right now it feels like a restaurant that has drifted away from what made it special. The atmosphere and service are still good, but the food just doesn't match the reputation it once had.

It's sort of Italian and sort of steak and sort of a little bit of everything. Really clean, strait forward , reasonable menu, nice ambience. It feels kind of high end but the pricing is definitely mid range. I selected the tomato basil soup as my appetizer. It came with a nice toasted crustini. It was a really good soup. It tasted fresh. It had a lot of body to it like, maybe they did the tomatoes here in the house from fresh. It was definitely tomato. The basil was kind in the background, but it was a true red sauce. It was almost tomato paste or tomato sauce flavor. I would've not complained if they given it to me over a bit of penne.. It had a really nice flavor on it not too sweet not too acidic really a very good soup. It came out in a footed coffee cup so you're getting about one cup of soup. The main course was the broiled seafood platter. It was anchored by a large piece of mahi-mahi, that was amazingly well prepared, firm and tasty. To the side of that was a wonderful crabcake, one of the best I've had anywhere and definitely the best in the Carolinas. It did not have too much breading and it had a wonderful texture with lots of good crab flavor. Drizzled across all of this were scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were a little overcooked if you asked me. The scallops were sweet and perfect and everything you would want them to be. The side that comes with this is their crab fries which essentially our beer battered french fries dusted with old bay seasoning. If you've ever had the crab fries at the Philadelphia, ballpark, this is the way they do it. For dessert, I ordered the lemon cello mascarpone cake. It comes drizzled with raspberry sauce. I had visions of lemon curd, and what I got was really good and really lemonade and good cake. But it's not a very big slice. I know about the weight staff. I don't know if they're all good, but mine was exceptional and lovely to talk with. The place was very busy. It had a nice vibe to it, it could've been in South Beach or Miami or Los Angeles, not that it was over over the top just that it was very clean and nice and well done. This is a professional restaurant not some amateur attempt. I recommend it.

Our server came by and introduced herself and said warm bread was coming. We had filled water glasses and took our order for additional drinks. We had a chance to look over the menu. The menu is small, but has a nice variety of favorites that you will find it easy to choose. I asked if there were any specials, but not on Saturday night. Friday night has a short rib special you could call ahead and reserve. That is a nice tip, since she mentioned they may run out. We decided to start with the tomato basil soup and a Caesar salad. Beautiful presentation on the soup and an amazing flavor. So delicious. The salad is very large and looked great. They brought out a second basket of bread with delicious herb butter. I really had to stop eating the bread! For entrees, we went with the goat cheese crusted grouper, with had beautiful puréed potatoes and squash and zucchini. I wasn't sure if I would like goat cheese with grouper, but it was a fantastic pairing. The scallops were large and crispy on the outside on top of a spinach risotto. So rich and tasty. The grouper paired well with a Pinot Grigio. The server went over the dessert choices and there were several to choose from. We decided on a chocolate toffee mousse cake. So incredibly rich and delicious. If you love chocolate, get this cake. My hubs and I shared one slice and it was enough after a filling dinner. Jerry's is located in a strip mall near the Wrightsville Beach area. It is very unassuming from the outside but, this place does service, atmosphere and food in high standard. They have been here a long time and it's clear the locals love it. This was my first visit, and will definitely return for the next date night or special occasion. 5 stars
