Meat is lovely - everything I've had from here has been excellent quality and very tasty. I also picked up some gluten free sausages. They had plain pork, pork and apple, pork and chive as well as beef burgers. As they are gf then they contain no preservatives so they are stored in the freezer. Again, very good quality and reasonably priced too as many butchers charge a premium for offering gluten free. Premises lovely and clean. Good hygiene and staff know their products. I'll definitely be popping in when I'm in the area.

From having a 5 min healthy discussion on preferences of wing-tip sirloin and ribs of beef I was given a sneeky peep round the back. These guys provide the beef for the best steak places in Glasgow. I'd eaten at one of them earlier in the week and my eyes were bulging at the trays of chateaubriands and rib in sirloins. So, as you'd expect, their meat is very well sourced and as good as you're going to get anywhere. I took a1kg 1rib Angus and pan roasted it in butter and wilted rosemary to get a good sear, then a quick 15 mins in the oven. I had it sat on some roasted beetroot puree with a port, wine and fresh beef stock reduction and the beef was some of the best I've ever eaten. Superb quality and ageing. Week after I wanted a lamb rump as I had the hunger for some dauphinoise. They were happy just to prep some up straight away, no fuss. The lamb was delicious........as was the dauph ;) ........and the sausages. Get the Italian fennel ones and slow cook cook them in your tomato sauce for pasta. Very, very impressive. Prices are as you'd expect for meat of this quality. Look on the window for weekly £10 deals. Steak and chicken. Well worth it.

And if that doesn't make you want to go as well, you're either a vegetarian, or just plain ole crazy (yes, those are different). Nice decor, welcoming, with a good layout and professional staff. From delivering full cooked breakfasts (with a very nice cup of coffee) to your door on a weekend to having some of the best tasting square sausage I've ever tried, this place is truly excellent. Every time I visit home I pop in and pick up some of the lovely square sausage to bring back to Manchester as you sadly can't find it South of the border. They even went above and beyond to procure me a traditional haggis, delivering it to the train station for me so I could catch my train back to Manchester. Wonderful meat and wonderful guys.
