Given that I go in here so much, I'm not actually that keen on it. It's handy and it stocks most of the basics, but the range is limited if you're looking for something specific and it's quite expensive. They re-did the layout a while ago and it was a nightmare trying to find anything; for ages, they had cheese and milk in the Dairy section but not the butter or margarine - that was down the front with the fresh pasta and cooked meat, obviously. They've re-shuffled everything again since then and it makes a bit more sense now, but it feels like they've lost a lot of floor space and haven't really improved anything. They put in self-service tills but after I had to call a member of staff 3 times when buying 3 items, then discovering they don't do cashback, I've never used them again and judging by the increasing queues at the kiosk tills, neither have most of the regulars. I also don't like the fact they've stopped posting out proper discount vouchers in return for your Co-op dividends and now you just get a till receipt saying £2 off when you spend a certain amount and an expiry date so if you don't use it within a couple of weeks, it's gone. On the plus side, the staff are friendly and chatty (especially David, he's just fantastic), it does lottery, it's open until 10pm and it's in a very handy location. read more
