They changed their policies about showing identification. They were extremely rude, and made my husband and I appear like "criminals" just for trying to recycle cans. They're worried about people coming into California from another state to recycle; however, recycling is a worldwide issue! We're saving the planet when recycle, however these new policies are going to detour people from wanting to recycle, and help to save our planet! read more

Every time i attempt to give there it's always closed up after 9-10am on Sunday even though business hours show from 9-3... i understand it can change but nothing posted on building shows such... even had a ruemployee tell me they were closed at 11 am even they folks were still sorting from their pickups and mine was ready just had to dump into containers.... read more

We were in Barstow cleaning out the house of my great aunt who passed away. We took all of here recycling that she had in here backyard here and separated and put them in the bins for weighing. I was told to go to the counter and the big fat guy asked for my ID, I gave it to him and he immediately said yelling " No! No! Take it back to where you live you can't turn it in here because you don't have a Barstow address". He refused to take it. So we had to rebag everything. This guy who heard what happened told me to go to the recycling center by Walmart and that is what we did. They were nice and we had no issues. Thank God I don't have to ever come here again. The man was rude and just refused us because of not having a Barstow address on our ID even though we had California ID. read more

These people rip you off. They are complete and total thieves. I weigh my stuff before I go and they only give you half or less. I took in 35 pounds of aluminum cans and they only gave me 18 pounds along with 24 pounds of plastic and they gave me 12 with 14 pounds of glass only giving me 8. This is regular business with them. They need to be investigated because it's fraud by deception. They are only giving me my money back. It's my deposit. I work hard and long for my money. I'm very poor so the way I see it is they are taking food off of my children's plate. read more

Supposedly this place opens at 9am. I showed up at 8:50am, pulling a 10' trailer full of recyclables. I was able to park so that I was not blocking any parking spots. At 9am some homeless looking guy in a dingy white tank top and a starter kit mustache showed up and started staring at my trailer. He wasn't man enough to say anything to me but I heard him mumble to himself, "As long as he's not blocking anything". Apparently he was an employee at this dump but he did not have access to the building. Now it's 915am and still not open but another worker drives up and the first guy tattles on me. So the "manager" tells me I can't park there cuz I'm blocking parking spaces. After I clearly pointed out that I was not blocking anything he tells me "Just move to the street". It was at this time I decided to go to All Recycling Center instead of dealing with these morons. By the time I secured my load it was 927am and they still weren't open. All Recycling Center has A LOT more parking and cans. Don't waste your time at G&S! read more

Very reasonable prices for recycling. They also give you a card everyone you get above 20 you get a stamp for 10. The only thing I would say is keep the ones that are positive in the front and ones that aren't as friendly in back read more

This place is sad. The first time I ever was here the one customer was arguing with one of the employees On the way they were weighing their recyclables. And The employee told him they didn't like it then they can go somewhere else. Very rude. And today I got here before quarter till. The place is shut up and nobody's here already gone. Good prices for recycled items but very rude. I wasn't even talking to them when I was being preached at. Treating people like second class citizens. I was even told to go somewhere else. I've come to the place for years and never had any issues or problems, before the pandemic. Now, everyone is rude and it's disappointing. I suggest don't ever offer any help to them if you do go. They apparently know what they are doing, and we are all the imbeciles. Oh, and don't ever TELL them they are being rude either! Apparently the customers needs are not priority. I tried to apologize for MY behavior, bc I do admit I may have been quite triggered by their rudeness. In which they proceeded to be even ruder. Don't expect that the owner will care any more than they do. He stood up for his employees, and said it was MY fault for THEIR rudeness. In which, like I said, I admit I was QUIT rude after. All I asked was for the phone number of the owner, so I could handle this myself. They REFUSED, and threatened to call the cops. So I called the cops first. Not knowing they ACTUALLY called the owner. Common human sense (if a person has any) says communication is required since we don't read minds, for future consideration. The owner explained that all they have is his personal cell number. "They are not allowed to give it out" Suggestion; get a non private number so your customers can reach you when they have a complaint. If it is relevant enough for you to do so. Of course. Why did it take for me to act as poorly as I needed to, in order to get your attention? Any attention? All it takes is to listen to whats being said, and not just assume you know the outcome. This guy and his employees clearly do not care about his customers. After all was said and done, each time I tried to apologize for MY poor behavior, they got even ruder. Later in the conversation, I was advised I shouldn't have said anything to begin with. THIS, this is whats wrong with the world, and you sir are ok with it? Average recycling.. Just a bunch of people with one bag of plastic or cans lined up fighting for getting their cans turned in first. I think they didn't give me the right amount for the amount of cans and plastic bottles I turned in. Had x2 full bags of cans and 10 full bags of plastic bottles. Only got $63.00... waste of time to collect cans or bottles if that is all you get for a truck load of plastic and cans. Leave it to the people hurting on the street. And the rich get richer off crv that is paid for plastic and cans..... where's all that money go? read more

This company is getting more and more scanalous,today I took in quite a good amount and got less than I have with half of what I've gotten more with less,I decided to make a run to Lenwood truck stops yesterday afternoon and evening and Baruch the then two full baskets of plastic crushed into ,packed fur to lack of baskets, 3 trash cans of glass separated by colors,1 1/2 full 1 1/4 full and the other 3/4 full and another of aluminum cans crushed into a trash can overflowing and got floored when handed me 59$ and change which ended up in an argument which I lost! These bastards #'s have been going down who's to blame most is workers taking off top by cheating lbs and rate at, or both owner and employees owner possibly set back scale but I hope he's aware of WEIGHTS AND MEASUREMENTS logged a complaint online about possible fraud now let's see how long it takes then to check scale and find out if you start noticing more $ he's aware or got caught for a fine that will break him it's nothing to scoff at thet are consumers best friend when buying and selling in wits and measurements,so keep eye on these morons next trip in if you read this also have a way to make him pay out more as well as cost him time and money and it's all legal a report by Orange County register in accordance with Cal Rcycle state ran for consumer awareness and to keep theft out from said companies ,,if don't know about And nothing changes I'll post what your loosing and he's gaining by certain payouts and how you can get more money as high as a bot 60 to 70c a lb and nothing recycling centers can do just need to know the laws that are In force I'll let anyone know if want info or do some research and you'll see just what I mean! The worker labeled "Manager" was stiff and as I walked away to throw my garbage in the receptacle, he made a snide derogatory comment about me and when I turned around, the flunky-type woman ( dressed scantily, as would a hoochie) was looking directly at me, which completely gave it away, even if I wasn't sure of what I'd heard. I don't recommend anybody to conduct business there if management is a low-life. Don't get me started on what all else I found wrong about the facility. This is my first and final visit !!! read more
