I own a town home. I've had numerous problems with my sewer and have had several plumbers look at…read moreit. Most recently about 25 feet of sewer line outside my garage crashed. The first plumber knew there was a problem because he put about 40 feet of rod through the clean out in the kitchen, which came with the house. He noted that it was only about 17 feet to the sewer main. He didn't have a camera and never came back. I called the plumber I normally use. I thought that if I was going to change a pipe, I might as well have a clean out installed. He located the problem and dug a hole about 5 feet down. There wasn't a pipe there. Before talking to me, he dug a hole a couple feet away and changed a pipe to install a clean out. He threw out the pipe before I could see it and tried to convince me that there was a second problem. He didn't come back to seal the hole until I called the Illinois Attorney General. I called a third plumber who located the problem in the common area. He dug a hole so deep they hand to dig a stairway so they could get in and out. I called a fourth plumber who located the break on a 45 degree angle in the common area. I contacted All Star Plumbing and Sewer. Michael found the problem right away. They dug a hole about 3 feet deep 6 inches from where the second plumber dug his first hole around 2 feet from the end of the clean out. The pipe actually went straight down. It kind of makes sense because some units had basements, but the issue is I had about 15 feet of unnecessary pipe and about 3 unnecessary turns. All Star fixed that design flaw by putting an elbow on the end of the pipe and turning it out. They verified that there were no tie ins after that point. I put gallons of water through that pipe to test it. It works great. The other thing is All Star is legit. As part of the due diligence, I checked his license with both Chicago and Illinois on their web site. He gave me a copy of his insurance certificate. I even checked his business with the State of Illinois and it's in good standing. He gave me the permit and dig numbers. I could see where the utility companies marked the lines. I was there with the building inspector when he examined the work. He wouldn't take Bill or my word for anything. He wanted to see it. The inspection passed with flying colors. He was listed as A+ on the Better Business Bureau's web site. His Yelp reviews were all 5 Star. I agree All Star Plumbing and Sewer deserves all the stars so I'm giving them another 5 start review. The icing on the cake is their price is reasonable.

The father said he went to Tennessee don't know when he's coming back. Told me he's got other customers to take of why am I letting a little drip bother me. I just have to wait. I told him I'm trying to rent out the apartment ASAP. Bill said , well they aren't moving in tonight are they? What a piece of work. They didn't have to wait to get paid Ripped me off and I'm a 70 year old woman.

For some reason, the moment I saw Andres' page, read some reviews, I had a good feeling about him…read more He was the FIRST of three quotes I requested. Because of MY scheduling conflicts, he was the LAST of three quotes I received. But as the saying goes.. "save the best for last". That statement couldn't me more true. I was lucky enough to watch him work and actually TEST what was going on BEFORE telling me how bad of a problem we had. The other two quotes I received saw the problem, tested nothing, and said they needed to excavate and because of that, the price was going to be way more. Their process was..."break the concrete, THEN rod the pipe to see if there's a clog", which would also be an all day job with a team. Andres insisted on rodding the pipe first, and that he'd be done in 20 minutes. He said IF that didn't work, (because he was going to test it again), THEN he would have to break open the concrete. I don't know about you, but that seems like a much more sensible option. He let me watch as he pulled all kinds of debris out of our kitchen stack drain. By the end, he had a nice sized pile, and water was flowing through there like Niagara Falls. He was done in 20 mins, as promised. Since he was there, I asked him if he had time to check our tenant's unit because they were having some drainage issues. He said he was trying to avoid rush hour, so why not? Lucky for us, he fixed another clogged drain, and a leaking pipe that we had no idea about! While we were talking, I asked him if he has a team he works with. His response: "No, I work alone because I don't trust other people to do good work and do it right". He also cleaned up after himself (you'd be surprised, but this is not always the case when people come work in your home), and I insisted on cleaning so he could leave, but he refused. He'll be back soon for some more work and I'm thankful to know we'll be in good hands. The world seriously needs more people like Andres. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you again!!

Do NOT use this totally corrupt company! I called them on Friday to fix a blocked kitchen drain…read more They said that I had to pay by cash or check and the check should be made out to the plumber. I received a phone from the plumber. Caller ID said William Flynn, but when the plumber arrived, his name was Jaime Contreras. When I asked why the name on caller ID was not his, he only said he bought a new phone. After 15 minutes here, merely looking at drain pipes, he said he had to go to Ace Hardware to buy supples, needed a check for $435 made out to him. Because my townhouse is inside a secure complex, entry is only via either a security desk in a tower building or via a locked gate that is unlocked with a fob, he needed to borrow the fob to bring equipment through the gate. The fob was on a ring attached to house keys. He left and never returned, Hr PE would not answer the phone from me or the company (they claimed). I kept calling. They promised to call me back, but never did. The owner refused to speak with me. I was told his name is Eugenio (or Cortez. Now, the disappeared Jamie has my house keys, so I have to change locks, but also has the fob that would allow him into the complex. -- The company is a scam. The total charge would have been $640. Roto-Rooter came Sunday morning for less. The address of the company, said to be on Cottage Grove Ave., does not exist. I give the company an F.
