Soothing jazz was playing, the antique rugs made everything feel welcoming. There are several rooms full of used books in various categories. Everything was labeled and easy to navigate. They also have tables of used records and shelves of movies. This is the kind of analog, community-based place that so needs to exist in today's world. I hope it's always here in Syracuse.

I can definitely agree, there are records from all kinds genres, even a Creepshow Soundtrack one that just came out! I had already pre-ordered it for my partner, though... What surprised me was that they also have CDs, and stickers and pins and patches and even board games! There was a large selection of vinyls that were on sale that day, which made it seem like a great deal could be had here. I'll have to check it out on Record Sale Day I think they call it.

It's very rare to be able to shop in person for boutique labels such as vinegar syndrome, arrow, criterion, cinematographe, and A24. The selection is unmatched and I end up spending a good amount of time and money on every visit because you can't get this experience anywhere else. While I love the movie selection in particular they also offer vinyl, books, games, apparel, and more! The staff is always kind and helpful. The place is big and densely packed, and it would be easy to spend most of an afternoon here digging through the crates. Don't forget to check out the basement and upstairs. It's old, it's dirty, and it's full of character. A true relic of a bygone era, and I F-ing love it!

My brother-in-law and nephew came along, but this was strictly my deal -- they were just along for the ride. I was really happy with how smoothly everything went. The staff treated me well, and I walked out with a nice mix of store credit and cash in my pocket. I didn't make a big fuss or smile too much because I didn't want my family thinking I was getting any kind of special treatment. They actually thought I was crazy for making the trade at all, but that's okay -- it was my stuff, and I'm the one who decides. I wasn't trying to get rich or score a huge payday; I'd just gotten bored with it all and wanted it gone. Sound Go Round handled everything fairly and professionally. Very random and dense collection of vinyl, but it's not "curated" - the selections look for the…read moremost part like they're just culled from garage sales in the area. That said, the Re-Collector has picked up a few gems so if you're a hard core collector, you'll likely spend a little time flipping through the bins. There's some CDs, DVDs, cassettes, and even a shelf of 8-tracks, and then a bunch of completely randomized tschotschkes. While I'm a sucker for this sort of thing usually we haven't found anything interesting on repeated visits. The music and vibe can be interesting or annoying, which goes double for the Re-Collector himself; he seems to be a bit moody. The store's pretty cramped, too, so go in with your claustrophobia under control and I recommend not taking any bags in, either. Worth a buzz-by if you like random odd used stuff stores, but not a can't miss one-of-those-things IMHO.
