Rug is disgustingly dirty and store smells terrible. Personnels attitude is equal to the rug as well. No ELB whatsoever.

They moved here about a year ago from a location off of Sunrise Boulevard in Flagler Village. You can't see the store from the parking lot. You have to park by the mosaic staircase and clock and walk down the sidewalk on the right towards the library parking garage to reach it. My daughter was familiar with Radio-Active Records from seeing their labels at comic cons. They are an independently owned record store in business since 1995. You can buy records or sell them yours. They also offer music on tape, CD's, and even 8 tracks. They also sell music equipment, t-shirts, and books. They host meet and greets with musicians and artists which in the past have included John Densmore of The Doors and Lol Tolhurst of The Cure. The store is neat and organized. There are several rooms to browse based on genres like rock and pop, modern pop, new releases, staff picks, electronic, folk, country, and punk. True music lovers appreciate the nostalgic and unique sound vinyl records provide. There aren't too many record stores around so we can count ourselves lucky that we have Radio-Active keeping the vintage sound alive.

Glad to have this be my first review of 2021!!!…read more Radioactive records is honestly the only record store that I will go out of my way to go to, as well as basically the only one I do go to in fact. There is no front parking, however, there is a parking lot in the back that always has more than enough spaces for you to be able to park in while you shop. The layout of the record store is insanely easy to navigate and everything is perfectly labeled when it comes to the genres of music of the records you may be looking for. Everytime I am here I find a new band that piques my curiosity or an album that I have been on the hunt for by a band that I've listened to for years. The prices are reasonable inconsiderate, however they have gone up over the last couple years because of a Resurgence in vinyl. While I pay for it, some of the older records that I have found our little bit overpriced for what I think I am getting, when I can find it for a bit cheaper online from various stores that include shipping. The staff is always friendly and ready to help you if you have any questions. The staff also is always great when it comes to asking them for advice on new music, I have never been let down by one of their choices yet!

Who remembers shopping for records that offered large, detailed album artwork and liner notes? if you want to tap back into the nostalgia for records, Rust & Wax is a place you will want to visit. Rust & Wax was opened in 2017 by Melanie and Jesse Friedman as a pop-up tent. They went on to open their large, bright, and well organized store here in Industry Alley. There is a wide selection of soul, funk, rhythm and blues, hip hop, rock, modern pop, jazz, indie, alternative, punk, metal, experimental, electronic, and Latin new and used records. They also sell 45's, CD's, tapes, books, shirts, pins, patches, vintage collectibles, and novelties. They will buy your vinyl and they have in store events and listening parties. Follow them on social media for the latest inventory and events. If you love music and collecting, this owner-operated record shop is a treasure trove. People still choose records for their superior, warm analog sound quality, You can chat with the employees and see their picks. Rust & Wax is more than just a music store, it is a community hub for music lovers.

It's a humble location; it's in a quiet strip mall off Oakland Park blvd. Honestly, as we pulled in to the mostly empty parking lot I thought we had the wrong location. But as we entered I realized what few mall customers there were, were all in the shop. And what a nice space it was. Old school basic layout that I liked. Just boxes and boxes of vinyl to sift through. They were well organized, with punk, funk, and more all set in their areas. And the RSD specials were displayed above each of the areas they related to. It's not a huge store, but with the limited quantity it helped me find a couple things I liked. Glad to make the acquaintance of We Got the Beats, and hope to be back soon.

The owner/manager (I'm not sure of his exact role), Tony, was super nice and patient despite what I'm sure was a stressful event. I was super impressed by the organization and how smoothly everything went, when it could've very easily been chaotic with hundreds of crazed fans in attendance. Tony also did a great job of making sure that people didn't cut in line, when many did try, and took the time to talk to those of us who had been waiting in line for hours. He also answered tons of questions on social media that people had leading up to the event. I can't convey how impressed I am at how well they pulled off an event of this magnitude, and am beyond grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
