Might be my new favorite Home Depot. Well organized and staff were extremely helpful, especially…read moreDanielle and Emily.

I really want to like Home Depot, but they make it impossible. Last June I ordered 10 sheets of…read more23/32" Tongue and Groove OSB flooring along with a sizable hack of board lumber, drywall, and scaffolding. Home Depot Customer Care (HDCS) assured me the order would arrive same day. Scheduled day came and went. Called HDCC following AM and stayed on intermittent hold as HDCC representative went back and forth with me and Statesville store. "We're loading it now for tomorrow AM". First truck arrived about 9 AM with only the board lumber and drywall. IDK my driver's name but he went above and beyond taking care not to damage drywall (on bottom of stack) and placed it with piggyback forklift exactly where I wanted it in shop (I don't know how considering terrain, but it was obvious he'd done this before). Another truck arrived latter towards noon and dropped off scaffolding with no problems. No OSB flooring today. This is TWO DAYS Next AM, the phone call "ping-pong" with HDCC and Statesville Store continued. "It's being loaded for tomorrow AM." was the answer again. I waited the next day until 2 PM and not wanting to waste another day, I called store-switched back and forth without anybody providing any believable answer. They all seemed very confused. I worked and got home around 9 PM with 3/4" plywood leaning up against the utility pole near my house; 86' from shop door where it was supposed to be delivered. I was very mad but spent an hour or two in shop assembling scaffolding to find a seized caster. I wanted to be mad at HD but it was obviously a manufacturer defect. I called store following AM and complained about scaffolding and incorrect sheeting. I was showered with apologies and excuses. "We'll have delivery drivers call you tomorrow and set up a pick-up time for scaffolding and drop off new." I asked for a time and was reassured they would call so I could work till time and meet them at shop. I did small things around shop till about 1 AM just to try and get ahead and work off steam. Needless to say I got to sleep very late and was going to catch up since I lacked the materials to proceed with job...I was OK with that, I deserved a sleep late morning. WITHOUT APPOINTMENT or warning, I get a SWAT raid style knock on door at 6:40 something AM with a box truck in driveway wanting to pickup the scaffolding. I throw on some clothes, half asleep, and we go to the shop to get scaffolding. During the shuffle, my Dewalt Miter Saw (that I've had for over 23years) breaking the front, right cast aluminum leg rendering the saw useless. I was livid by this point! I "laid" the scaffolding on its side, removed the faulty caster, jumped in the delivery truck and cut a box open where the casters were packaged, grabbed one, gave the defective caster to the driver, and "asked them to leave". Still no OSB flooring. I called the store and spoke directly to Carlos, the general manager. He was empathetic and obviously frustrated himself. He asked me to bring the saw to the store for him to see. I did later that morning and he gave me a new RIGID Compound Miter Saw (R4123) in the box as a replacement and I kept my Dewalt. I may get it fixed, but will never get rid of it for sentimental reasons. Carlos explained at length about the issues with contract delivery drivers and though I don't understand how he can issue work orders to someone HE IS PAYING to do the job, but they will do whatever they want like refuse a delivery or unload part of an order and leave it at the store if they don't want to bother with it. Where's the work ethic? Anyway, I left with my new saw, which I was skeptical about but have come to love! This thing has great features and is built like a tank! (because of that, Carlos earned my business on a RIGID Table Saw (R4550), RIGID Sliding Miter Saw (R4222-AC9960), and too many RIGID power tools to recount. Feeling hopeful this was a turn-around in this nightmare, I to home to find the customer had called and canceled the job because they felt "I was stalling and making excuses". I also found the plywood had been picked up the plywood and left some OSB...wrong count (1 sheet short)....wrong type (1/2" instead of 23/32") and it was not even tongue and grove; all of which made it completely useless as subfloor. Guess that was now irrelevant since I lost the job due to previous HD blunders. BUT! The worst part was the delivery itself. They THREW THE SHEETS DOWN ON THE FRONT STEPS OF MY HOUSE (see pic) blocking access to the front door and dangerously near my wife's van. I called the store and DETONATED!! The next day, the wood was gone. I refused to use HD delivery again until Hurricane Helena hit. I give HD a second chance to take advantage of special offers, but that experience is ongoing and as convoluted as my previous nightmare. The Statesville HD personnel seem good, but their accessory services are HORRIBLE AND DANGEROUS! Pick it up yourself or go to Lowe's.
