Ravioli in the foreground, soft polenta with truffled egg (and crispy bacon I think) in the back.

Surprised to find out this is a chain of restaurants. We had a very pleasant and simple lunch the other day, hiding from the rain. As non-Parisians, we still don't remember that the outside terrace is a cancer cupboard (i.e. for smokers); we automatically think it would be nice to sit outside until the smoke starts wafting over. In any case, my ravioli, a special of the day with ham and cream and peas, was delicious, and my better half's soft polenta with a truffled egg was especially good. And the prices were reasonable, I'd guess that the bistrots on the corners of Place Victor Hugo would all be charging extra euros for the privilege of sitting in the round... Also: nice service.

If ever I had a case of envy looking at what everyone else ordered, today would be it. All of the pasta dishes sent to the tables around me looked absolutely mouth watering, but the grilled fish special of the day was a bit of a let down and the mushroom pasta I ordered after that to try to rectify my taste buds urge for something more flavorful also fell flat as well. I'd probably come back to give it another shot since the service was friendly and prices quite reasonable by Parisian standards. I'd arrive early for lunch if traveling as a tourist since this place gets quite busy during the lunch rush hour from the offices near by.

This is my first time in Paris. Decided to go grab a bite to eat. Walked past several cafés, they looked a little too dressy. Wanted something a little more casual. Turned the corner, and found this café. Decided to take a chance, since I love Italian food. Ordered the gnocchi la pesto, my mom ordered the lasagna. The food was delicious. Absolutely loved the gnocchi! The pesto had great flavor. My mom said the lasagna was great. And the desserts looked amazing. Will definitely be back before we head home to California. So happy we found this place. Looked online, and found out it's part of a chain. People seem to have a problem with this. All I know is I loved the food! And the service was wonderful.

The pizzas were a good size and were made with super fresh ingredients. I had the chorizo pizza and it was perfectly cooked: melted cheese and chorizo together with a wonderful crust. My husband had the parmesan, ham, and rucola pizza and really enjoyed it. We also had desserts (Panna cotta and the creme brulee: both were excellent)! The service was great as well. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and was very accommodating to us non-French speakers. The place is huge and got loud by the end of our meal as it filled up but it was nothing too unmanageable. Overall a good, hearty meal plus a nice glass of wine at the end of tourist day one (aka, a lot of walking and general exhaustion by dinner time). Pro tip: the only menu I saw online didn't have very many choices so I was pleasantly surprised when we got there and the menu was pretty big. 10-15 pizza choices, plus pastas, meat dishes, a few fish dishes, appetizers, and an extensive drink menu.

So today, after a long day of Paris sightseeing my sister & I decided to try out that take out window. We ordered 3 small pizzas, and found them enjoyable. The crust was very good,, the strength of the pies. Ingredients were decent not plentiful but otherwise fine. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. FYI - pizza takeout is called Livio Piu (olive pie), and if u want takeout pizzas cut - be sure sure to ask!
