The French dip was also very good. The fries were worth the up-charge, so good. It was enough for a couple of meals. My boyfriend had the salmon BLT and loved it. He said it was savory and delicious! Sourced from a local meat market and served on a Sheboygan hard roll. The steak was cooked perfectly and tender and was size able. A shame they didn't have a brown mustard or a garlic aioli to serve alongside as it was lacking. Definitely a mix of locals and visitors coming from one of the campgrounds. The bartender greeted many by name and did a great job ensuring no one was thirsty. A fun place to stop in for a drink and/or a bite.

Weirdest name for a restaurant with some of the best food in town!…read more I've been to Mother's Day Restaurant a few times now, as I frequently travel to this area. What a great place! When you walk in, you are truly walking in to a family diner that oozes of home cooked goodness. Food cooked to order that is delicious every single time. My personal favorite, as I've been there for lunch a few times, is the BLT. Sounds simple, right? I love a good BLT. Simple by design yet some places still manage to screw it up. Not Mother's Day. They got it right on target. Perfectly toasted bread. Crispy crunch salty bacon-y bacon. Crisp fresh lettuce and a perfectly ripe tomato to balance it all out. Can you taste it? I want it.....now! The servers at Mother's Day are about the friendliest group of people you will ever encounter in your life. Guaranteed. Anyone that says any different needs to look in the mirror. Always attentive, friendly and helpful. When you walk in, you'll notice the bakery case. Pastries, cakes, pies....whatever is fresh and in house that day. On my last visit, I noticed the carrot cake in the case. So I asked about it and was assured that it was incredible. Well, good luck cramming down a piece of anything after you finish your meal at Mother's Day. Did you say, to-go? I'm listening.... They sold me on the carrot cake and guaranteed that it was amazing. So, later that evening, I confirmed their words and that carrot cake, was in fact........AMAZING! Would I go back? There's not a lot in this particular area in Horicon, WI. But that's the beauty and the secret of Mother's Day. You don't need anywhere else. You could put 2 or 3 fast food junk chain restaurants all on the same block and I'd never even notice them, fully knowing that there is a gem of a restaurant called Mother's Day just waiting to serve up some delicious home cooked food.
