Came here for the Bacardi event. It's a nice event space. All white and looks very classy. Don't really like the neighborhood though.

If you make it on Second Saturday, well, all galleries are open late, and many galleries offer free drinks. Many galleries also have cash bars, if you really want to hang. If you like walking around, this could be a problem. The streets are packed with art lovers. If you like to sit down, this could also be a problem. It's overcrowded, and finding a seat may be a hard commodity to find, but don't lose hope. If you come to Second Saturday, you'll have fun.

How could I have not reviewed this before?…read more I was one of the brave souls exploring Wynwood back at the beginning in '02 / '03 when Second Saturdays had a more underground feel to it and was just three or four gallery spaces. (I remember this area when I went to high school nearby and it was just the hood, but I'll leave it at that...don't want any more gray hairs to pop up!) Anyways, Wynwood / Design District has grown up and diversified now and known by the mainstream. Nowadays you're likely to see a DJ performance in front of a local (non green mermaid) coffee shop with live breakdancing, live street painting, performance art such as planking in one of the public spaces, and bands in the other . You're also likely to run into a bunch of majorly cool people around the different galleries too. Don't forget the bunch of new restaurants, plus the food trucks either! Sure, parking can be an adventure and / or overpriced ($10 for an unimproved lot where my "Eleanor" gets dirty?? ) But what would a hot night in the city be without a little adventure!

The Costa Collection, Smoke Shop and Fiorella World were open for business at 2pm so the wife and I browsed. Several cladly dressed females were giving us samples of NYX Professional Makeup. The only thing is that it can be a little bit loud and crowded for seniors. The place offers plenty of options to explore, letting you swing from one food vendor or drink stand to another until you find exactly what you're craving. One of my personal favorites was the Mexican food spot, definitely a great choice if you're visiting with a group and everyone wants something different. The marketplace concept makes it easy for everyone to pick their own food while still enjoying the experience together. It's especially enjoyable when the weather in Miami is nice, since the open-air setup really adds to the vibe. Between the food, drinks, music, and colorful Wynwood energy, it's a perfect socialize, and spend a casual afternoon, but beware that it can get overly packed and noisy.

The concert was for Bryson Tiller and the line wrapped around a few blocks and buildings. Seeing this, I had high doubts all those people could fit into Oasis but once inside, everyone fit with room to spare! This venue is super cute and spacious although a bit rough for concerts, especially if you're short in height. A lot of people were standing on anything that was elevated such as furniture, umbrella stands, and even planters! If you're trying to just catch a vibe and don't find it important to be in the front or see the performer, I think this venue is still good. VIP for concerts were bleachers to the side of the stage which looks to be worth it if you really want to see the performer. Other than for concerts, Oasis has food and beverage options along with spots to shop at that are open on a regular basis. Overall a very cute spot within Wynwood!
