Pro tip, text your order in if you are going to visit this food truck, apparently they do not care about walk up orders and the owner will literally be condescending to you for NOT texting your order This truck was outside of a state building and so like a lot of other people we decided to try it since it was so conveniently located. After waiting over an hour, some of our group asked the owner why their order was not ready yet. The owner loudly voiced that if they had placed their orders by text, then they would have waited 10 min or less. No apologizes, non remorse, it was our fault for not knowing that if we don't text our orders in, it was our fault that we get zero priority in having our food prepared. Oh, and we should have read the email that went out (the email that had no reference to texting your order in). She was happy enough to refund a few of our group members charges, but no attempt to make anything right or prioritize any differently. A few "texted" orders still came and picked up their food shortly after. What did I learn about this experience then? 1) They prioritize all text orders over walkups. Nobody else had placed a walk up order for at least 20 minutes prior to some of our group and texted orders were still being handed out first. 2) The owner is combative when the situation isn't ideal. She's been doing this for six years she told us, she knows how to run this. Well, I don't write a lot of bad reviews as I feel that most situations don't warrant hurting someone's business. But when the owner has as much of a bad attitude as this one did, I feel a fair warning should be made. She can run her business however she wants to, but it will be without any future money coming in from my wallet. read more

HOLY. SMOKES. This was an absolute surprise! A co-worker and I just happened to peek to see if a food truck was by the building we work in and we saw Fusion. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! They explained what was in their pho-ritto and both my co-worker and I were adventurous enough to give it a shot. It was JUST like a bowl of pho wrapped into a burrito (minus the broth). It was full of flavor and so fresh it made both of us question why we hadn't tried it before! We also got the potstickers and they were fabulous. Such a good little spot and PACKED full of flavor!! I've been watching Fusion on Facebook, trying to make their schedule match up with mine. Tonight I saw that they would be at Willamette Humane Society for the Freaky Foodtruck Friday event. It was a chance to see them at their best and at their worst. I don't think anyone expected the turnout that the event got on Friday the 13th. The line was long, and it was hot for May. I ordered a Bahn Mei and Vietnamese Coffee, and my wife ordered Sweet Potato Tots. Then we waited, quite a long time with other customers and not a few panting pups. By the time our food came up, I was ready for a chance to sit down. This is not a knock on the crew. They were sweltering, and it was their second service of the day. I considered it a miracle that they were still smiling, and pumping out the food. The food was great! The sandwich was delicious with the expected but unique ingredients. The bread was perfect, a pillowy nest for the filling. I was worried that it might be too hot, because they didn't have time to take special requests. I'm a mild guy, but the little kick of thinly sliced jalapeno was the perfect accent to the many bold flavors of the sandwich. I licked the sauce off my fingers, and wished for more. My wife wilted during the long wait, and decided to take her tots home, but I tried a couple, and they were nearly perfect. The cost was on the low side for what we got. If you are planning on stalking a food truck, this is one that should certainly make your list. This was my second time trying fusion since it starting parking at state buildings downtown. First time I tried the traditional spring rolls- super tasty and plenty of them in one order. This time I got the bahn-mitto and I will be getting that again! It was fresh, tasty, good spice & seasonings (I got it without mayo) oh and it was HUGE! Enough for lunch and dinner! The food here is quality, and so are the operators! The spicy curry bowl is my favorite. They offer various types of rice/grain (white, brown, black, quinoa!). The bowl is made entirely of fresh ingredients, and they pack enough for two meals. The flavors and spices are spot on. It's spicy enough to make you sweat on a hot day. It also has cilantro, which I'm generally not a huge fan of cilantro, but this dish has put it back on the menu for me! My favorite truck & my favorite lunch. Everyone seems to love this place so I hate writing a so-so review. It may have been just a one off but I had a bahn mi sandwich when they were out at riverfront Park and I don't know what they used for pickling the veggies but it tasted like it was just vinegar. It wasn't edible. Maybe someone left out some of the ingredients. read more

Tried this truck at the eclipse festival in Independence. Food was fresh and yummy! I had a Vietnamese sandwich one day, then it was so good I went back the next day and had a Currito. It is yellow curry in a burrito with pickled veggies and rice. Drinks also good, I had cucumber water and iced green tea. It's hard to tell from the signs what anything is but it's worth the time to find out!! read more

This food truck is at Salem ENT clinic on S.River Road every other Tues. I often pass it as I live nearby. Today I picked up their Vietnamese salad w/spring rolls. Stopped here for lunch when the truck was outside a state building. The order: wanted the Pho-ritto, I was told that they are out of rice noodles (you're a Vietnamese food truck out of rice noodles an hour after you open? WTF?) so I asked to sub the yakisoba noodles. I was told they would take a really long time. So I ordered the chicken skewers with rice and veggies as well as some egg rolls. This order was placed at 12:05pm. As of 12:55pm I still had not received my order. My lunch hour was now over. When I tried to ask for my money back I was told that I would have to wait they had time and they were busy with orders, so it would take even more time. I was also told that next time I can text my order to them (why, just to find out they are out of what I order?) to avoid waiting. Are you kidding me? This was my first experience with this food truck and although the food looked and smelled delicious the whole episode has made me think why bother with them. Especially since more and more food trucks are opening/coming to Salem. So my money will go elsewhere. read more

My fiancée is dancing in the kitchen from this lovely takeout meal. Like, wow healthy veggies and tasty chicken with the spice that you want. We ordered an 8 out of 10 ( we usually love our taste buds on fire!) this was some nice heat but not quite to the sweating point:) for newbies this would be def enough. Ive had pickled vegetables, Ive had Vietnamese food, and well this is neither Im sorry to say. I saw this truck at the park I was at, and I was hungry so thought Id try it, even though the truck looks old and dingy and a little scary to get food from, lol. Great Asian option. A friend and I made our first visits to Fusion during a Thursday lunch hour. At that time, they were parked at Garmin on Turner Rd, but of course you'll want to check their Facebook page for current locations. We both ordered the Vietnamese Sandwich (aha "Banh Mi"). You may not have seen many Asian sandwiches, but the 20th century French occupation of Vietnam left behind a bread-making tradition and the Banh Mi is a result. Fusion's version includes Pate, fish sausage, and seasoned pork, topped with cucumber, cilantro,carrot, pickled dikon and, optionally, jalapeno slices. They also provide a soy sauce packet but given the host of other flavors, I did not use mine. I liked it - the right balance of meats, vegetables and moistness. The bread is good quality. We enjoyed talking with the hosts as they were friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return as the noodle bowl and spring rolls look promising. read more
