I love Cindy and her beautiful, whimsical fused glass designs! I've taken my grandchildren there a couple of times for a kid's workshop. They LOVED it! She is so kind and patient. Her new co-op art studio, Studio 171, in PG is a collab among 5 family members and other local artists who consign their beautiful art as well! I purchased this beautiful ceramic whale made by an amazing local artist in this shop and I love him! The shop has many wonderful gift ideas. Do not patronize this place. The owner is aggressively rude and extremely unprofessional. We had an appointment for our daughter to do a glass project and drove over an hour, only to find the shop closed. When we called the owner, she said she had neglected to write the appointment down. When we expressed our disappointment and asked about a refund, she became defensive and combative and called my wife a Karen. Apparently the customer is always wrong. read more

I just returned from a short visit to Pacific Grove. I took a glass class at Fusion Confusion's new location inside STUDIO 171 on Forrest....right across from Peppers Restaurant. I love the new location. It's bright and colorful with 70's inspired graphics on a couple of walls. Cindy, from Fusion Confusion, has teamed up with other family members on this great new studio and class space. The classes are always fun. I did a blue themed Nautilus shell that's a garden stake. Fusion Confusion provided a wonderful opportunity to relax and play while creating a charming and colorful, fused glass ornament. Cindy, the owner, had everything neat and organized so that we could get right to the fun challenge of putting mosaic glass pieces together on a pattern. There was simple, clear instruction and support, but also freedom enough to design an individualized piece of art glass that I'll be proud to show off. Now finished, my dragonfly will be fired in a kiln until the brilliant glass fuses together into a gleaming sun catcher for my garden. I can't wait to see it in a day or two when it is done. If you're from out of town, your treasure can be mailed to you! All together, it took us about an hour. Cindy had other finished art decorating her walls. There was a dazzling array of sea creatures and birds that would make a great souvenir or decoration. Cindy has been designing and making her charming menagerie for over 15 years. The Fusion Confusion Workshop is so neat! I just happened upon it when I was walking around in Pacific Grove and the glass pieces drew my attention immediately. There was also a sign in the window letting you know you can make your own glass pieces. I had to do this! The store wasn't open but I called the number listed on the door and the owner Cindy came over and opened shop in about 10 minutes from my call. They don't have set hours and are very happy to open up the store if you call. There are many glass pieces the owners make that you can purchase. The whale and jellyfish were my favorites. There are also mermaids, butterflies, garden sticks, jewelry boxes, and small glass starfish, shells, seahorses, and fish. The prices are very reasonable. If you make your own glass piece, you can choose a butterfly, jellyfish ($20 each), starfish, or heart ($15 each). I decided to make a glass butterfly. I got to choose a butterfly kit and Cindy showed me how to glue the pieces on. I got my butterfly like I wanted it after about 30 minutes. Normally, they'd fire it in a kiln and you could pick it up when it was ready. Since I'm not local and leaving soon, she offered to ship it to me. Our kids love doing the DIY glass classes and the owners are always so kind, accommodating, and helpful. The shop itself is adorable and colorful, great sea creature art for your home and cool gift ideas. The classes are great for any age... the owner said she had a class of 18 the other weekend. We had a girls night out here to make our own glass creation. Cindy was so helpful and accommodating for our group of seven ladies. There were about ten shapes to choose from and a variety of glass that we could use to decorate our shape. Cindy was with us the entire time helping us with whatever we needed. What an amazing, colorful corner shop! My son and his friend went there for an afternoon project. The experience was just fun for all and a memorable time.
