Unfortunately, my most recent experience was not as positive, and I found myself disappointed--though not due to any major issues. When I arrived at 11 a.m., right as the restaurant opened, there seemed to be adequate staff and they certainly weren't too busy to pay attention to the two tables dining at the time. I have no issue with staff taking a moment to chat, but I wish they had focused a little more on the guests who were dining. We ordered green tea, which is served in a metal teapot. The protocol is that if one person orders it, they receive the teapot, and if two people order it, they get one teapot to share. However, what surprised me was that despite finishing our tea, no one came by to offer us a refill. It would have been nice for someone to ask if we wanted more, especially given that we had finished the first pot. I also ordered the vegetable udon, hoping for a flavorful dish filled with fresh vegetables. Sadly, when it arrived, it lacked any vegetables and was quite bland. The overall taste was underwhelming, which was disappointing, as I had expected better. I pushed the plate to the side, indicating that I wouldn't be eating it. No one noticed. My plate was hardly touched, and not once did any staff member, including what I presumed to be the manager based on his demeanor, come over to inquire about my meal. He passed by my table at least three times without asking if everything was okay. I would have appreciated the opportunity to provide feedback. While I must say that everything else I tasted, aside from the udon, was delicious, the lack of attention to detail--such as not offering a refill for my tea and not inquiring about my dining experience--left me feeling neglected. It was truly disappointing to leave with an untouched plate and not a single word from the staff addressing my concerns even after we declined the offer container to take home the meal.

For dessert, we got mango lassi cake, which is something I have never tried before, but I do enjoy mango lassi drinks. The cake was very fresh and not too sweet - exactly how I prefer it. I would've liked mango to pop a little bit more, but it was still a great and unique cake. I probably wouldn't go with sushi at this place because $25 per roll is New York level price, unless it is cooked from very fresh ingredients to the highest standard. All in all, a great experience - definitely returning.

As for the food, every bite I took was delicious. Our table shared the fried brussel sprouts and the ginger miso salad. A very lovely way to ease into our meal on a lighter note. They split up the salad onto two plates for us, which was sweet of them. The portion was pretty good for a $12 salad. Very refreshing. Brussel sprouts were absolutely fire. Get them! Along with that, I also ordered the tempura shrimp maki roll. Inside the roll was cucumber and avocado with giant tempura shrimp right on top, drizzled in spicy mayo. The presentation was cool, a slightly deconstructed version of what I would get somewhere else. There wasn't a single bite left on the plate. I would order all three of these dishes again in a heartbeat. Perfect for a date night or special occasion, but also works for just grabbing a bite with friends. The plate is beautifully presented and the food is steamy hot (perfect). The vegetables are gently cooked in a garlicky sauce. The shrimp is plump and succulent. The Crab Rangoons are crispy with a creamy filling. The dish is exquisite, well beyond a normal lunch special. They offer carry out, but most people were dining in during my visit. You walk through a series of gluten-free options starting with a base of greens, rice or noodles. (The noodles are made of sweet potato's.) then you select from a series of warm options, cold options and finish with a protein. Price is dependent on the protein selected. My server, Alan, walked me thru the options to build my custom bowl. The bowl is ready in less than a minute! I selected a lettuce base with chick pea curry, Brussels sprouts, a fabulous pickle onion, kimchi, carrots and topped the bowl off with Korean bbq made from beef brisket. The ingredients were flavorful with varied degrees of spicy heat. The spice levels were perfect for me without added sauce. The curry was tasty and the bbq was tender and juicy. I loved my bowl. I especially liked being able to select ingredients that fit my diet. The dining area has an upscale vibe with six long tables. There were fresh flowers on the tables, probably from last week's grand opening. The dining room is clean and tidy. The manager came over to my table to chat and see if everything was ok. On Monday's, they offer special pricing on Meatless bowls. There was a kid's menu, as well. If you sign up through their App you can get a free bowl and receive other offers (I opted out).
