The sushi here is pretty good. Comparable to Wegmans and reasonably priced. I got the yellowtail jalapeño and philly rolls which were both really good. The fish was fresh and the ambiance is very nice and romantic. Prompt service by the waitress. The hostess seemed annoyed to be there and didnt seem in the mood to interact with people. Ive come here a few times and when he's there it's always the same. Also when you come here for take out they dont give you a reference number they ask you "what did you order" and there a bunch of take outs sitting there. Sushi: presentation and taste is superb Entrée: while tasteful, the chef adds items that were not indicated as included on the menu. Overall rating 2 stars. My recent visit, I asked that mushrooms and zucchini be left out, they opted to add carrots and bamboo shoots and another veggie. Note these veggies were not part of those listed under the included items on the menu. Food was not bad. The wait staff was terrible. They were not friendly and not helpful. One waitress repeatedly wanted to take our bowl of soup away while there were still soup in it. We live in Philly, but come to Vestal every year for Thanksgiving. We've been here twice and it is amazing. There are a lot of different sushi rolls and every one we have had has been great. We especially like the Lady Gaga roll. Prices are good and we've had great service. My family has had both the hibachi and Thai as well and that has been really good. Family and I visited this wondrous hole in the wall Japanese cuisine / sushi bar. We will return. Cost, where expected, and having come from the Phoenix area where we had several excellent choices, I would take my sushi friends from there, here. Lady Gaga Roll was not as hot as I'd hoped (I enjoy my habeneros off the stem), but spicy enough for the rest of my family. My wife got the Dinosaur Roll, EXCELLENT! Pink Lady Roll my daughter ordered was very very good (we share our rolls). Their Galaxy Roll, on their daily menu today, was also EXCELLENT. I would have enjoyed a little more Wasabi on my plate, but I'm sick when it comes to the flagrant. Enjoyed the house Sake, plus one of the chilled versions. This is possibly my favorite restaurant in town. They have a fairly wide variety of food and I've never had a bad meal. I have eaten here well over a hundred times. The food has always been rich in flavor, and usually decent portions. The customer service may be it's only downfall. I've had wonderful and sometimes lackluster visits, but the food is good enough to look past that occasional flaw. If you get a chance, it's very much worth a visit. read more

I have eaten at a lot of restaurants in the greater Binghamton area and liked and disliked many, but Fushimi takes the cake on being hands down one of the worst places I have experienced eating at. For having a grand opening you think that the staff would be better prepared for the occasion. The restaurant was on a wait and there were only 2 servers. It took us 45 minutes to order, another 45 minutes to get out food (which came out one by one). I ordered the sushi dinner, 7 pieces of sushi and a tuna roll, and my friend udon noodle soup with tempura. Hear meal came out in 5 minutes... mine took 20. Also, my tuna was brown. I have eaten a lot of sushi from a lot of different places in many states and in Binghamton and I have NEVER seen sushi this brown before... it was either clearly frozen or clearly of exceptionally poor quality. Regardless to say, I was not going to eat it. After waiting another 45 minutes to get one of the 2 waitresses to come over to tell her I wanted to order something else in exchange for the meal, she decided to battle with me saying "tuna is supposed to look like that, it is always brown". After I told her I was not going to eat the meal she told me I had to pay for it, plus whatever else I wanted. When I then told her I wasn't going to pay for either she told me she would "make an exception by speaking the the manager". I then proceeded to wait another HOUR for my tempura udon noodle soup to go. When we went to pay, my friend had a coupon from Groupig and the girl would not accept it because it was not "valid" even though it had the conformation and coupon value printed and clearly stated for everyone to see on her iphone and on printed paper. She was not trying to solve the problem, she just asked us for "another form on payment" As we were about to walk out in utter disgust and disappointment, the other server told us it was fine and that she would accept the coupon. A saving grace on her part. A 40 minute meal turned into an almost 3 hour fiasco from start to finish. The food was of poor quality and the 2 servers clearly did not know how to treat people in a restaurant setting. If I tell you that I am not going to eat my meal because the sushi grade tuna is brown, do not tell me that I have to not only pay for that meal, but my replacement as well. Even one star is undeserving of this place. I would have to be paid to eat here again. read more

The Sushi here is really good. My boyfriend and I have been going to this restaurant all year. We have spent a lot of money here. For every $20 you spend you get a stamp or whole punch on a card and after the tenth you get money off your meal. Great. However when we went in to redeem what, according to our card, was $30 off they crossed out the 30 and told us it was 20 and they wouldn't honor it. I didn't like that at all. I was disgusted by the way they handled that situation and for that alone I wouldn't go back. Also they hate giving you spicy mayo for your meals even when you purchase 50 and 60 dollars worth of sushi. I really liked this place for the longest but my last experience that just really turned me off. read more

The Insides Of This Restaurant Is Pretty Fancy,But The Food Is Kinda Just Bleh. My Friend Got The Tofu With Some Kind Of Orange Sauce And It Costed Like 13 Dollars Plus Tax. Really!?! In Most Other Restaurants It Only Costs $8 Bucks And Has Even More Tofu. Fushimi Calls The Order Tangerine Tofu, But Really It's Just Orange Tofu With Orange Slices. I Got The Bento Box And The Chicken I Got In It Was Dry And Some Parts Of My Chicken Was Too Salty And Some Parts Were Too Sweet. Also The Rice Was Hard And Stuck Together. The Sushi Was Ok and the Shumai which is shrimp and cabbage in a roll was good,But In 2 Of The 4 shumais That I had, had no shrimp. The Miso soup Was Pretty Disgusting. The only thing that I would be willing to be more of is there salad, But u could probably make it yourself for only 50 cents. Not gonna be back here anytime soon. read more

What a an unexpected, great find this restaurant was! My family and friends took me here as a graduation celebration, and it was the first time I had ever heard of it before. I was a little apprehensive walking in, because it was basically empty aside from my party (but it was also late on a Sunday evening), but was I in for a pleasant surprise! I had a shrimp tempura bento box, and it was absolutely fabulous. One of my friends changed her order at the last minute, and due to slight confusion, the staff forgot to bring a soup that was supposed to come with her new, changed order. Without us even asking, they comped her entire meal. The staff was very courteous, helpful, and friendly. And the food is delicious!! I wish I had found this place before I graduated. read more

I could easily say Fushimi has the best sushi in the greater Binghamton area. I had came to this place initially not for sushi and the food was still amazing. It's surprising a place in Binghamton of all places would be able to execute such a wide variety of Asian cuisine from Thai to Chinese and Japanese. A friend recommended I go back for the sushi and I now come here about 3 times a month for the sushi. Just make sure to get here a while before the kitchen closes. The staff, just like anywhere else in the world, does not appreciate staying open for a single table and the quality of food and service will be affected accordingly. I had been here a few years ago and was pleased with my experience and my food. My visit for lunch today to get a to go lunch bento box was awful. When I walked in, it was very dark in the restaurant. It gives me the vibe that maybe things aren't as clean as they should be and that's why they keep it so dark. The woman ringing me out was quite abrupt and rude and walked away before I had finished signing for my check. When I asked if there were chopsticks and a spoon in the package she said nothing and stuffed chopsticks in the bag then walked away again. I asked about the spoon and she said it was in there while walking away again! When I got back to work and opened the bag, the salad was rotten and my sushi roll was floating in teriyaki sauce from the teriyaki vegetables (which looked and tasted like reheated leftovers). I will not return to eat here. There are other much better quality sushi places in the area.....Kampai, Saki Tumi. Eat at your own risk at Fushimi Asian Fusion. read more
