She worked on it with a combination of hot stones, her hands and other tools - tuning forks, different bells that are new to me - and for the first time in ages it is pain free and I have full range of motion back. If you're used to "traditional" Swedish or other massages, some of what Roxanne does will be unfamiliar and seem a bit strange. If you can trust that she knows what she's doing (which she does) and experience it, at the very least you will have tried something new but likely, you will feel the benefit. If you don't want those things however - just tell her! She listens well and constantly seeks education on new techniques and healing massage therapy approaches. She also checks in throughput the session to make sure the pressure and other aspects are comfortable and acceptable. Besides that she is kind and generous with her time and knowledge. Her studio is comforting and cozy too. I can't wait to go back.

Erin is incredibly intuitive and a gifted healer. I felt very open with her. After only a brief discussion, I found her suggestions for activities while I was there so personally and insightfully tailored to what I was going through. Her recommendations really helped me get lost in "deep time." Checking in with her at the end of my time on Orcas to discuss what I did and the significance I found in it was helpful for me to process it, and our visits framed my trip in a meaningful way. It was supposed to be a 60 minute massage, but she went well over the time. Afterward she took the time to show me a couple of relaxing stretches for before bed and in the morning. Very helpful! I just have one suggestion. This was an en suite massage. She uses coconut oil that needed to be warmed up. Without asking ,she used one of the mugs in our kitchenette as well as our utensils. It probably would have been better if she had brought her own. Some of the coconut oil was still there when she left. This wasn't a big deal, and shouldn't take away from the fact that she's a great massage therapist! I would use her again!
