If I were a rescue animal, this is the place I would like to be! It is like a 5-star hotel for dogs and cats. There is ample parking for all the volunteers that run the rescue mission. Animals are content and happy. There is even a café for future adopting families to make themselves at home while choosing their future pet. Furthermore, there is a private quiet area where families can be alone with the prospective pet while making the adoption. Great value for your money as adoptions are free! As soon as I was invited to this event I got soo excited. I am an animal lover so this was an event I was really looking forward to. My twin sister and mom both were invited to this event as well. This shelter is soo beautiful and I can tell that they really love their animals. Nikki gave us a tour of the facility and I really loved her energy and she explained everything so well. I love their dog walking schedule and they have the board color coded to make sure the different level of difficulty of walking the dog is connected with the level of experience that a volunteer has. I love that Yelp invited me to this event because I was able to cuddle with kitty's and touch beautiful dogs. They had delicious macaroons, bagel and yummy donuts. I got to meet Kelly the photographer and she was super sweet as well. Although I don't live near this shelter, I would like to try to volunteer as often as possible. Wow, what an experience. I was there for a yelp event and I had a great time and a lot of information about volunteer opportunities with furry friends in jupiter. The location was easy to find with plenty of parking. I didn't include this before but it is ADA accessible so although there are stairs to catopia there is an also an elevator for access to those who can't climb stairs. I had such a fun experience and got to see a lot of the dogs and cats, and even got to cuddle a few kittens on the 2nd floor where they have a "cat cafe" and a place to meet adoptable cats. read more

I went there to answer their plea for towels and sheets. I arrived with two garbage bags stuffed with linens. I stopped a gentleman who worked at Furry Friends to help me offload my delivery. The inside of Furry Friends was immaculate, bright and open. There was an outside play area where an aide was playing with the doggies with a water hose. Well, over the years we have consistently brought all of our human clothes and animal clothes to this thrift store. The prices were affordable for those of us of lower income. Since they have reopened after moving next-door, they have jacked their prices up almost to double or triple and it's become a high-end kind of boutique secondhand store. So I guess they are now catering to those of means in the area and hope that that will bring in more money and dropped us lower income people because now it's not affordable for us. Whenever I was in there, it was super crowded and people were buying a lot of things so I hope for them it transfers where they'll make up for the lack of shoppers to those who have the means to spend more money. I wish them well, but they kind of pulled the rug out from all of us that were loyal customers for years. If you want a great thrift store where the prices were once like here go to community thrift in Riviera Beach. Another one is adopt a cat thrift store off of Donald Ross Boulevard where the prices are how Furry Friends used to be. Typically, my experiences here have been wonderful, but unfortunately, this last visit was not. When I arrived, the receptionist was on the phone and let me know she'd be right with me. I took a seat and waited patiently. Another customer walked in shortly after, and she assisted them first, which didn't bother me at the time. However, when it was finally my turn to check in, I had a few questions about my appointment and the associated costs. The receptionist responded by saying, "Those are all questions you can ask the doctor--you're smart enough for that, right?" I found this comment rude and unprofessional. The worst!! I have been supporting this place for 20 years and yet my dog has an ear infection and they tell me the next appointment is 6 days from now. They don't care which is why they cycle through veterinarians. All about them and nothing about the patient! I have brought my puppy to Furry Friends Clinic a few times for visits and for her spay surgery. During her routine visit, I was struggling with keeping my pups ears clean. The Vet was very thorough with her explanations and even gave me a different over the counter option for ear cleaner/medicine to save me some cash. My cockapoo pup went in for her surgery and they even called the next day to see how she was doing! She is healing beautifully and gave me all the information I needed to set me up for successful post surgery care. The staff in office are friendly and comfort your pets during procedures. Prices for procedures are the average around here and reasonable. The building is beautiful and the office is always immaculate! We will be back. read more

A year ago I was very excited to meet Zeus, they told me that he is not good with other dogs and he could be aggressive, I was still willing to meet him. We waited around an hour and a half and there were other people walking in and going straight inside while we were still waiting. We just couldn't keep waiting so we decided to go to a different shelter. I ended up adopting a different dog and I am very happy with my pup but I feel so sad that it's been a year and Zeus is still in the shelter. We could've trained him and helped him with his issues but because of the staff we did not have the chance to meet him. read more

A friend recommended Furry Friends, saying they had good service and reasonable prices, so I brought my senior papillon in for an annual checkup. He has cataracts [is nearly blind], very bad hips, and heart murmurs. The technician and vet both treated him assembly-line style with no regard for how they handled him or for how freaked out he was about their treatment. They also tried to sell me everything they could think of.. we agreed he should not get annual shots because of his age and overall condition. I don't recall what the bill came to, but remember it was higher than expected. Then, to make matters worse, my apartment complex needed proof of shots or proof from the vet that he's exempt. I had to request this document no less than 10 times! Each time they said "No problem" very sweetly. When I was ready to bring him someplace else for the document, they finally came through. Needless to say, I never brought him back there and do not recommend them for a senior dog. read more

I'm writing you today because of your unfair policies that is being carried out by your company and staff. So if you see a pet that you want to meet you can see that pet but only in their cage. If you are interested in adopting that pet and if that pet is a highly desirable pet then they tell you that you must meet with the trainer and you must make an appointment to do so. so then you ask, can you put a hold on that pet because you can't see the train at that moment then they tell you cannot put a hold on a pet. This is where you scam begins because this is how you put a hold on a pet without really putting a hole on a pet using the scam that you must meet the trainer first. I came to your facility wanting to adopt a pet and and found one that I loved but was told was I must meet with a trainer before I could adopt it. I said I will meet with the trainer right now if it's possible and your staff said that it's not possible and you must make an appointment with the trainer. Then I asked can I put a hold on the pet and your staff said no it's a first come first serve basis, but it really isn't because of the scam/cover of making an appointment with the trainer to have a meeting. Instead of the scam/cover, why don't you just change your policy and put holds on dogs. Because it is an unfair scam practice that you and or your staff is doing it is unfair to the people that want to adopt a pet and it's also unfair for the pet itself. All the claims that you make on your website and what your staff tells you at the front desk is a complete lie and scam. Maybe you should rethink your companies mission and be more transparent with people that are looking to come in to adopt a pet because of this I am so turned off by your company and staff. I currently live in West Palm Beach and I have been making the drive up to Jupiter (Furry friends) for a while now (since before the name change) I like to have 1 vet and be consistent so that vet gets to know my pet. One of my furry babies recently passed away..it broke my heart.the doctor was very gentle and understanding...he even made a follow up call after my babies got very sick and was out. Her way out( he said my kitty was in such bad shape that she most likey wouldn't make it through the night) she did, but didn't make it through the 2nd night. Had a great first time experience since we were looking for a new vet in the area. Super nice staff. They helped our 14 yr old Lucky feel better(we thought we were losing her). They really put our minds at ease. The vet was very good with handling our dog and very knowledgeable. They don't try and upsell you here and they don't judge you for using a Groupon like so many establishments do. They even saw I had the voucher and said "I see you have a Groupon!" and happily scanned it. So glad to have found our new vet. Very bad experience with our young lab getting spayed had to have emergency surgery less then 24 hours later at Jupiter Emergency Veterinary Dr Lattimer saved her! Furry Friends has been my go-to place for all 6 of my animals. Prices are lower than the vet I had been going to for many years, and the people working in the clinic are fantastic!. We left our old vet because we had a bad experience with a euthanasia of our beloved dog. Old vet did not give the medicine before the euthanasia to relax the animal, and he yelped when the euthanasia was injected. It was a terrible way to say goodbye to our baby. I've had many procedures and annual appointments with Furry Friends and I have found that the vet there is so caring and really spends time with you to explain things and answer your questions. Overall, great experience so far!! I rescued a cat in our neighborhood who had mange and intestinal parasites and was going to Furry friends once every couple weeks for a food few months to make sure the mange was gone. They handled that whole thing so well, I decided to bring all of my other animals over to them. Highly recommend!! read more

I brought my Shih/Poo Lola for her Rabies shot that was due. Relocating from Scottsdale I happened to find this clinic through Groupon. It was a Win/Win from beginning to end. They were warm from their first "Hello". The genuine caring and professionalism is outstanding. On Sat Jan 16th, we identified two great puppies that we may want to adopt at Furry Friends Adoption Center on pet finder. The puppies names were Sasha & Ava. We completed the application at 10:39am & received approval at 12:22pm with instructions to call them about the puppies we were interested in. We received a call from Meagan and my wife spoke with them on the phone. She confirmed that both puppies were available and that we can schedule a meet and greet. She explained that we lived in homestead and would take a significant amount of time to arrive. We agreed to be there at 3pm. My wife then called them to confirm the cost for adoption and if we needed to bring anything. She was told to bring documentation for the association (not needed as we didn't have one to report the adoption to) & a leash just in case. The location was much further than expected and we had to call to let them know we would be arriving 15 min late. After arriving there was an older gentleman leaving with, we later found out was Ava. We continued with our meet and greet. I went first leaving the boys in the car just to make sure she was what we expected. Did not want to get the boys excited just in case. I was completely excited now and knew the boy would be too. Called my wife in to bring in the boys to meet Sasha. They were beyond excited. The played with her and ran around in the meet and greet room and just proved to be exactly what we wanted. My wife asked to see another, larger dog, but at the end Sasha was the one. After some 1-1 discussion we agreed that we wanted Sasha. I proceeded to the front desk to ask what was the next steps were to adopt Sasha and they informed me that they had more appointments to meet Sasha and once they were done, they would decide which was the best fit. This made absolutely no sense since we had an appointment to meet both Sasha and Ava and when we arrived, Ava was on her way out of the door with her new owner. Further, telling us to bring a leash gave the impression that if we liked Sasha that we would be able to leave with her today. If we had to wait for the other appointments, then there would be no need to bring a leash since we couldn't leave with her till those were done. I explained that we just drove from all the way down in homestead to come meet and adopt Sasha and her response was "we have people drive from all over". She further said if we wanted to call the next day around 1130 to get a status on the availability. Basically, it didn't matter that we drove the 112 miles each way to adopt Sasha. We left disappointed and had a very quiet ride home thanks to the inconsiderate and irresponsible actions of this facility. The following day we waited for an update, communication, or any notification about Sasha in vain. Nothing was done to inform us of the status. read more

Recently we started bringing our two beautiful dog companions to the Furry Friends clinic. Immediately we were so impressed with the people who greeted us, the technicians and Dr. V. It was extremely obvious that they truly cared about our animals and communicated with them in such a calming, caring manner. My Stella had to have her leg amputated and the cut split open and puss was coming out. I took her for her appointment and because I said I had a headache, they wouldn't take her. They automatically though I had COVID , lesson learned. My car is still not well piss is oozing out of the area and this place simple doesn't care! They wanted to give her antibiotics . I dropped off $150 in cash in a bright yellow envelope with my name attached just before Christmas, in response to a mailer I received from Furry Friends asking for donations. When I never received any kind of thank you or acknowledgement, I called a week later to inquire, and was told that they knew nothing about my donation and had no record of it at all! How do you lose $150 donation?? It didn't just disappear into thin air!! The only explanation is that somebody kept it for themself... how pathetically sad! What a shame... I'm sure somebody could have really used that money to help pay for an expensive procedure for their beloved pet at Christmas time! I won't be donating there ever again! read more

I just dropped off a stray kitten to have neutered. I wrote on the paper that I had to medicate cat in order to catch it as traps weren't working. I just received a call from the vet who killed the cat with anesthesia. He never looked to see that kitten already had received sedation or check to see if blood work was okay. I explained that it was ok to do kitten late in the day. The total lack of competence was obvious when he called to say that kitten died after surgery and was evident when he couldn't answer any medical questions. He knew he was in trouble when I said I was a critical care nurse for over 40 years. We will never go back there again with any animal. Too bad that Safe Harbor is no longer in business.
