Since we had never used the protection we went in today to see what our options were in terms of reclaiming the $120 we spent on the plan. Right off the bat they told us it had been 6 years. They made it sound like we should have been in there right after the plan expired. We were told they would honor the plan (reluctantly) but we had to make a minimum $500 purchase. Even though there were several people at their service counter, no one was real eager to help us. One guy said he would be with us after he finished with the customer he was working with. After wandering around the store a couple of times he finally came and helped us. We asked about manual recliners because all we seemed to see were powered recliners. He showed us a couple and was rather pushy about them. None of them really caught our eye. We asked about fabric options because what we saw really didn't catch our attention. We got the strong sense that that question annoyed him. In the end we left frustrated and unimpressed. I guess these guys get $120 in free money because after today I refuse to give them another dime if I can help it. There are other furniture stores in Billings that have better sales staff. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone. We have had some positive experiences with them in the past with some bedroom furniture. Unfortunately the sales person that helped us with those purchases has moved on.

I bought a mechanical Flexsteel recliner with lumbar support, sat in it for two days, and raced back to the store to buy the reclining loveseat and end tables. Went BACK and bought more tables and hallway furniture. High quality! The Flexsteel support is superior to anything I've ever purchased (back doesn't hurt anymore). Staff was so helpful from the multiple purchases all the way to the warehouse pickups (we didn't choose delivery). Our Sales Associate Keith Walker was an exceptional help for us, and Rachel called to walk through the entire order with us to make sure our pickup went smooth (since we went back 3 times). Overall, I am 100% satisfied in the quality and customer service -- and have officially transferred my furniture loyalty over to Conlins.

In the event you do use this as a reference letter, I would like to take a few lines to highlight to the reader what transpired behind the scenes during this estate sale. * This was originally supposed to be a two sale - Friday and Saturday - but ended up a five day sale over the course of two weekends * All glassware was washed, cleaned and professionally displayed * The prices were within reason of what the items would have brought in an antique mall * Communications leading up to and during the sale were really good. We always knew what was going on I could go on and on with this list but I think the reader gets the point. Debbie runs a first class operation with Estate Dispersal Service (EDS). If you are looking to go elsewhere, please be sure to ask the others * How will they handle security at the site during the sale? * Will customers be allowed to pay with a credit card? The fee charged by EDS is not that out of line when you compare the whole package with what others are trying to do. I know we were hesitant at first but it all was worth every penny that we paid. I have been to many EDS run sales in the past so I know they can be a little abrupt but dealing w/us bargain shoppers might be rough sometimes so I have always cut some slack. This poor treatment happened the day after the sale was official over so the heat of the haggling is no excuse. I was actually on my way to pick up my so called "winning bid" item (they had called me the night before to tell me) when I received a 2nd call telling me the item had been sold out from under me. I was shocked in to silence so she took that opportunity to rudely tell me they can do that if they want. Wow, rudeness on top of a shady deal. I understand that they want the best price for their customer but the sale was over, my bid was accepted, & I was in route to picking it up so I don't think it should still be considered available. The bid card was a binding sale agreement that I signed so why don't they have to honor it? From their website - "Our hallmark is experience and integrity". They may have experience but I really beg to differ on the integrity! At the same sale they took all the items away from another customer because they were insulted by an offer made on one of the items. While it is totally their right to refuse service being so rude can't be good for anybodies bottom line be it theirs or the estates. It could end up keeping people away from future sales so the estates will lose out on money along with this business. They seem to forget that the people buying the items are customers also and they might not want to treat us so poorly. If I could give them negative stars I would. I am even giving thought to adding a note in my will that my heirs use anybody BUT them.

When I found a pair of cute shorts and asked to try them on she said she'd have to "measure me first." I politely declined, assuming it was an optional service, to which she further informed me, it was not. Then things got weird. Because the shorts were cute (and cheap), I begrudgingly let her measure my waist. To which she said "ohh, they're too small," and put them back on the rack (they were actually my size) When I said I'd like to try them anyway, she smugly told me I could purchase them, but I still wasn't allowed to try them on. It was hands down the weirdest, most invasive, and humiliating shopping experience I've had. And it explains why the store is bursting at the seams with clothing. I doubt anyone actually buys anything after being treated like that. If you enjoy unsolicited body commentary and being size-policed over $20 vintage shorts, this place is for you. Otherwise, run. And a tip for the owner: If you want to run a 'by fitting only' boutique, then run a proper by-appointment fitting room where you pull sizes for people instead of wasting their time and humiliating them.
