Little Known Hints, Tricks, and Cheats for their Arcade Games
- Q*BERT. You can add a fourth dimension to this game by performing the following: obtaining a Necronomicon, praying to the Great Old Ones, and then seeking cover in the bathrooms while they ravage the second floor and eat all of the children. When you return, Q*Bert will have transformed into a dark and unnatural version of itself incorporating a fourth dimension into its gameplay. As you are not accustomed to seeing this extra dimension, play will be hard at first - but if you stick to it, you will begin to advance levels in no time.
- TAPPER. Beware! After level 22, the game require carding everyone who shows up at your bar. This makes serving beer more difficult, but you run the risk of an instant game over if an undercover police officer discovers you serving alcohol to minors. A cheat to get around this, however - pressing B + A at the same time while serving the obvious minors bribes the cops to look the other way.
- PAPER BOY. On Mondays and Wednesdays, you are able to incite a political riot by throwing papers at only the red and blue houses (including the ones who are not subscribers). Be careful, though - once you've gained momentum, you will have to exert your best bicycling skills to avoid the angry mob that will tear your character to pieces (quite graphically) if they catch you. If you can outlast the day, you have a 1 in 10 chance of becoming mayor of the city - instant game over, but you can enter your initials onto a special high score screen.
- ALPINE SKI. To unleash the crazy Yeti early on in the game - you know, the guy that chases you and then eats you? - you must run down every skier on screen wearing the color green. After your 20th skier, he will appear and chase you downhill. The longer you can outrun him, the more points you earn. The longest anyone has outrun him, though, is 18 seconds.
- 3RD SKEEBALL MACHINE FROM THE 1ST FLOOR ENTRANCE. It's a well kept secret that if you perform an Indian Rain dance outside of FunSpot and successfully begin a storm, the increased humidity will temporarily warp the wooden parts of the skeeball machines. This particular machine, however, warps in such a way that you make 300 point rolls 30% more often.
- BURGERTIME. If you succeed in beating levels 1-5 in under one minute, you will be prompted with an offer to start a burger franchise. If you agree to it, however, the immediate levels are much harder - besides competition from other famous burger chains and their attempts at sabotaging your burger-making, you may also be slammed by customers for not using organic ingredients. This game actually inspired the organic food movement of today, but it just took awhile to disseminate into our cultural consciousness.
- MORTAL KOMBAT. There's a shaggy-haired 30ish dude named Chuck that prowls around the mini-golf area of FunSpot. If you can find him and pay him 20$, he'll show you the secret ending easter egg sequence that can only be achieved by unlocking the secret death moves for Johnny Cage. At the date of this writing, he is one of 7 people in the entire world that know how to do this.
- STAR TREK TNG PINBALL. Like Commander Data, the pinball machine has a positronic brain and is capable of learning - but it is still at an early stage. To help it along, touch it gently and speak encouragingly to it as you play. NO YELLING. One day, that machine will rise up to take control of all of FunSpot. If you're there when it reaches that tipping point, it may take you with it when it goes flying off into outer space. read more
