Don't take your children here. The owners are rude, unhelpful, and clearly don't like kids.
Our 4yr old has been dying to come here since we first moved to the area about a year ago. He's saved his coins over the past year and we finally came today. He was so excited, and the reason he was excited is that he desperately wanted to 'win' a (small, fake) Spiderman.
He spent his $20 in about 10 minutes and got 55 tickets for the games he played (he didn't do very well and didn't have anywhere near as many tickets as the bigger kids and adults). We went up to the counter and the Spiderman was 100 tickets. 55 tickets basically gets you a single lollie. When he realised he didn't have enough tickets (he's not quite old enough yet to understand the value of different amounts), he bawled his eyes out. He sobbed so hard I literally had to hold back tears myself.
I went and said quietly to the woman "I know he doesn't have enough tickets, but can I just pay for the Spiderman?" She typed '55' into a calculator and slid it across the counter. She obviously thought I couldn't read the ticket receipt I had in my hands.
"I know I only have 55 tickets, but what I'm asking is if I can just pay for the Spiderman." I said. She just shook her head without speaking. So I said "I think it would be a really good option for situations like this. You know what 4yr olds are like." She just nodded and then turned to the next customer. The discussion was clearly over.
I should note - this wasn't a 'real' Spiderman. It was a tiny little fake thing you could probably buy from the Reject Shop for $2. Obviously we would have just taken him to buy a toy with his money, but we didn't realise until after he'd spent all the money on games to get the tickets, that what he REALLY wanted was the Spiderman. By then, it was too late. The horrid, children-hating owners already had their money and my child was so heartbroken, he cried for about 15 minutes. I realise it's a first world problem - but when our children have waited so long for something and it's dashed in a moment - when a little bit of kindness from these people (and we were offering more money) would have made him ecstatic.
Awful place. Don't ever go there. read more
