Also, keep in mind we strategically visited during the working week well away from school holidays so the queues were pretty good. Mostly waited 5-10 mins for rides, only did 30 min waits once or twice. (Can imagine in peak times the lines would get cray-cray, so understand some of the queue gripes from other Yelpers.) Rides of note: - Tower of Terror 2: Don't understand the Terminator link, but the ride sure is great. Shoots you out and back so fast it almost doesn't feel real. (Too fast to even get scared!) - Pandamonium is in the kids-land part of the park, but is probably one of the craziest rides there. Goes wayyy too long, but is pretty thrilling. - Shockwave is listed as a family ride, but is more of a thrill than it looks. - Buzzsaw was ok. One of those 'tick, I did it!' rides more than it was an enjoyable one. - Log ride and Rapids are exactly what you'd expect. - Damn, The Giant Drop sure is a long way up. Also, the Tiger show is well worth a visit. Very impressive creatures. If you get lucky you might get to see the little cub around the park too, and even get a pat in. Big tick also for having so many water bubblers across the park. The website also mentions that you can't bring food in, but they don't check so go nuts. Looking forward to coming back when they're back operating at full capacity.

However I would not come during school holidays as you will be expecting 50-60miles queues at every single attraction which will be an absolute pain. Foods not too expensive but don't expect too much. Come in shoulder seasons after 4 pm you practically get no queues for all attractions which is great. All in all I will come again but just not with young kids so I guess movie world won't be seeing me for some years.

Beautiful nature reserve tucked in Boronia Heights. The picnic area is quite sparse with only a few…read morecovered tables and wood fire BBQs. There is a public toilet and small playground for the kids. Winding away from the sizeable carpark are several paved walking tracks. Stay nice and quiet on your hike and you'll find out why this reserve is so special. Kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, brightly coloured parrots and lots of other bird life are ever present. I've never visited Boronia Bushland Reserve without coming across the huge mob of kangaroos that live in the area. Sometimes they come right out into the playground area to munch on the grass.

Main playground had great options and coverage with a good enough sized car park. The only concern was the lack of toilets and general protection/barrier from the lake for that child that likes to not listen and run off but space is not an issue! Beenleigh is a real family spot especially with the parks it has so this was a nice surprise.

Indoor climbing, go karting and laser tag all under the same roof!…read more Game Over is a new attraction located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Offering an interesting mix of novelty indoor climbing, go karting and laser tag. The climbing is a little bit different to "serious" climbing places, offering fancy looking walls, and a "leap of faith" which involves jumping from the top to grab onto a bar. Auto belay systems mean you don't have to rely on someone to be paying attention to you (and putting your lives in their hands!). The laser tag looks to be fairly normal, with dimly lit rooms, fog and light up guns and vest. The go karts are electric, which is rather different to any other place on offer. Electric means all the karts perform very evenly, and best of all, no stinky oily engines (which is super important since it's indoors!). The track isn't overly long but is interesting enough, with a nice big straight to open it up, hairpin corners and a chicane - good fun!

Was less impressed with Gallery Walk, a street of cafes and shops atop the mountain said to be a must-see attraction. I just found it odd and a bit of a tourist trap, I'd give this a miss if you're not really into shopping for nick nacks or cuckoo clocks and use your time to do some more exploring. I did taste some nice flavoured fudge though!

I took a drive up there recently and really just went exploring without too much direction. There are plenty of places to eat, but my friend and I decided to stop for lunch at a restaurant/hotel called St Bernard's, drawn in by a huge model of a St Bernard. For those more active people, cycling up Mt Tamborine seems to be popular and there are also other sports on offer such as hang gliding. This is a great, easily do-able little escape from Brisbane.
