What a great day at Sea World! Highly recommend going when visiting the GC :) GET THERE EARLY and buy your tickets online - much quicker! First jump on the Cable Cars - it's a great view of the whole park and you can get your bearings. There is something for anyone of any age - rides, kiddies park, water rides, dolphin shows, penguins, sharks, polar bears, cable cars, food etc. My favourite part was the rides and watching the dolphins in the dolphin nursery - just gorgeous. It's well looked after and the rides are smooth and loads of fun... lines aren't too bad either and well worth the wait. They have a sale at the moment - $99 VIP pass gets you 6 months unlimited entry into Seaworld, Movieworld and WetnWild! BARGAIN!

Exceptional shows with top quality rides. Be sure to check the refurbishment schedule though as a few attractions were closed when I went which may upset some guests. Food is fairly expensive which is par for the course in a theme park but the unlimited refill of soft drinks drink for $9 was well worth it. It's an excellent park for families but some teenagers may get bored. All in all I had a fantastic day here!

Seaworld is a mix of aquarium and theme park that just about gets it right ... although some of the rides and attractions were closed for refurbishment, or, indeed, were in the process of being built. But, there's still an opportunity to see dolphins, rays and even sharks from close quarters; the sharks can be viewed from an underground viewing area. There's quite a few seabirds cormorants and pelicans on show too. And, you can get from place to place or from ride to ride by means of a monorail. I'm not entirely happy with seeing animals 'perform', and maybe the dolphin exhibition, the sea-lion show and the pirate show are maybe a little bit Disneyesque, but I'd think they need that kind of thing to get the punters in. But, the many children seemed to enjoy it and, hopefully, they'll be informed as well as entertained.

Everyone can enjoy their day here. Entry line can be long so be sure to get here early in the day. The entry is quite expensive so consider buying a multi-park pass. Having said that it is expensive I do think it is worth the price, particularly if you go to multiple parks. There is plenty to see and do here, we saw the seal show which was nice for a sit down. The day we came to Sea World storms were forecast so we were unable to touch the water or go on the roller coaster. This did cut down on some of the things we were looking forward to. We took plenty of pictures and enjoyed the day though.

Great trip for the kids, an all round fun day out. Great to get so close to the dolphins. There aren't heaps of sea life but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you're against animals being held in captivity. A huge shark tank, dolphin beach and seal display. Plenty of rides to keep the kids occupied between show times. Souvenirs are reasonably priced which is surprising for a theme park. Only loses a star due to the poor food options available, burger & chips or Dominos Pizza. Then there's plenty of ice cream kiosks. Could do with a healthier option that we could feed our kids, a smoothie bar for example. Overall a great experience made better if you opt for the value pass enabling you to come back for free.

I have just returned from a weeks stay at SeaWorld Resort, and there were some really good things and so many terrible things, I don't really know where to start. Let's start with the good: The service by the staff in the shoreline restaurant and bar out the front of it. It could not have been better. We had breakfast there every morning and had their buffet twice in the evening. The staff were attentive and incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was pretty good too. The breakfast variety was abundant and fresh and so was the evening buffet. $75 on Fri-Sun for the seafood buffet is pretty pricey if you don't eat seafood though. They also had a carvery Sun night but they didn't have gravy which I found a bit poor. The reception area is really nice and the front bar staff are also really friendly and make pretty good cocktails. The gardens are lovely to walk around and the pool area is lovely and well set up for kids. Ok, the bad...... We paid a very premium rate for a premium upgraded room. My advice-do not do this. We went with friends who did not pay for the premium room and I went in theirs and had a look. We both requested ground room floors-they got it, we didn't. The "premium room" looked directly into the back driveway entrance and monorail track of SeaWorld-not over the ocean or even the pool. The difference in the standard room and premium room was the premium room had laminex "wooden floor boards" and carpet where the beds were while the others had carpet. The premium had padded bed heads and a newer and bigger tv. The only other difference was the shower curtain over the bath had been replaced by a pane of glass. They were nice enough to put spak filler in the holes left by the shower curtain rail. We killed 2 cockroaches in our room and they failed to give us new towels on the 4th day and then totally failed to come and do our room at all on the 5th day. The pool was set up great but they did not even heat it for the cooler months. If they did, it was not noticeable. Everyone could swim for a couple of minutes and then had to get out as it was too cold. They have a sponge bob splash park for the kids which they loved but would have loved it more if all of the features had been working, rather than having closed signs on it (see pics) Finally, they have a splash party for the kids each night. So we got the kids in their bathers and brought them down. There was probably about 30 kids waiting. The splash party started and the kids were having a great time. BUT it went for 10 minutes!!!! It was ridiculous and so much effort to get kids into bathers for such a short time. My final gripe was the playground they had on their map. One afternoon we went for a walk to it, only to find an area covered with wood chips and shade cloth with NO equipment! (Again see pic) I could not help but laugh. It is very obvious that they are doing things on the cheap and not investing maintenance or capital. (The lift to our floor was also broken for the first 2 1/2 days) The hotel room area is tired and my opinion is, that for the same money, there are so many great options in and around Surfers Paradise for families now. The park itself is really really showing that it needs major investment. You can see they are creating a new kids area at the moment but apart from that-i liken it to a large outdoor aquarium these days and nothing that distinguishes itself from this. If you can only choose one or two parks to go to-choose Movie World or Dream World (or even wet n wild) I really only feel like giving SeaWorld and Resort 2 stars but the only thing that is encouraging me to give it 3 is the waiting staff in the Shoreline Restaurant and bar out the front of it-The stark contrast in their service compared to the rest of the resort is almost hard to comprehend: chalk and cheese! The question of would I stay there again? No

Sea World's a great place to check out, it's good for families and couples. They have feedings, shows, attractions, and plenty of stuff to fill your day. I loved the dolphin show, I booked a penguin encounter to get up and close and personal with those amazing birds (it was an extra fee but so worth it for the experience), and I had fun feeding the stingrays.
While I wouldn't say it's a must visit, if you're planning on going to Warner Bros Movie World you might as well get the double ticket for here. They've got a good selection of kid rides that my three year old really enjoyed as well as some character meet and greets she loved. The dolphins, sharks, and rays are all great too. The coasters are unique and fun. While nothing is too crazy, the wood one is one of the better wood coasters I've been on. It felt like they had better uptime compared to Movie World. The food here isn't great, but I didn't feel like it was overly expensive either. For ~$50 a person it was the right price. read more
Perfect for children but if you're gonna go during shoulder seasons especially in beginning of weeks, just be ready that a number of the rides might be closed! We went on both a Tuesday and Thursday. For Tuesday it was practically empty but most things were closed. Thursday more things were opened which is great. I'd you are considering which worlds to go to, I can confirm this is one of the best for young children. Most activities for kids under 100cm and got fish to look at. The seal show is a must go for kids as well. I think dream world does the same but if you are bound by the village road show bundle ticket then SeaWorld is the safe bet. I suggest getting 1 refill cup the moment you rock up in morning as well to make the most out of it. read more

Amusement attraction #2 of our stay and yet another example of deterioration. Jumping on the monorail to escape the rain, we did a full loop and mostly passed the pumps used to filter the enclosures and construction areas. If I owned Seaworld I'd be very mindful of what I want my customers seeing and this would not be it. Perhaps they should jump on themselves. It's not pretty. Like Movieworld, 3 rides were closed. The Bermuda Triangle and Pirate Ship had seemingly disappeared altogether. I went on one ride with my partner and once again had to pay $2 to store our items in a locker. The ride was fun. It was a jet ski coaster. I had previously said I didn't want to come here because of the animals but that ended up being what made me smile the most. You get to touch the sting rays and for $9 per small bucket we fed them too. You might get splashed but it was a calming experience. At Castaway Bay I got a glimpse of a world I'd love to live in. Complete strangers by boat or land, laughing and smiling as they sprayed each other with water guns. read more

Great attraction, but the cost of food and drinks once inside is nothing short of highway robbery
What a joke of a 'resort. The guests were bogans. The staff were bogans. The managers were so dumb I had to use words under 5 letters. I learnt a lot about bogans, it turns out they are highly social creatures with an amazing sense of humor. No matter where I was, there was always some bogan with a quip of moron humor that HAD to be shared with me. The morning buffet was so bad I had boarding school flashbacks. The only thing they couldn't fark up was poached eggs so I had that. Think slimey, chewy bacon, dried out pancakes with corn syrup, tinned fruit and rubber eggs - all barely lukewarm of course. The prices were outrageously high, so be prepared to hire a car and eat somewhere...anywhere else! The fish market down the road was great for one or two meals. The organization was piss poor, no timetable for the linking monorail train, And the kids club AND the rides were not open on time. Think hundreds of kids who are gonna wait all day and they can't even start the events on time! The shows in the resort lasted about 5-10 minutes. So you wait for 35 minutes for a 5 minute show. Weekday queues were about 45 mins per adult activity, 25 for the kids rides. read more

Oh yeah mixed feelings really....kind of a bitter sweet I'll be honest you know. It's like when you're walking down the road and find a $50 note on the floor but then you go to pick it up and soil yourself, then find out it wasn't a $50 note but an M&M peanut packet. Anyway yeah the sweet first - were the Dolphins - WOW! They were so beautiful, intelligent, acrobatic, gentle and tender. The bitter were the pre-show snacks; we ordered fish and chips from the front counter and OMG. It were DISGUSTING, the fish tasted like a sterile injection of bleach. Even the seagulls cocked their nose up at them and they were diving at the table! Oh and the plush toys - they were selling them everywhere, you couldn't move for stalls. Even on the way out in the parking lot we were ambushed by rolling sellers of television themed fluffy wide eyed toys. I believe I saw one on the M1 too - is there nowhere these people won't stoop to sell these?! They're taking over! Anywho to sum up - go for the animals because they're right pretty like and so clever and moochy but not for the fish or sickening amount of over priced novelty items. read more

This place was underwhelming. They had very limited choices for food and the seagulls are really aggressive to the point where my husband and I couldn't enjoy ourselves with our food. I know that this isn't their fault, but better management with the wild animals could be better. They literally had to spray seagulls off of me!!!! Also, the route to certain attractions were very confusing. We had to walk through the children's area in order to enter the line for the rides. It seemed like there was only one way to multiple different attractions. We are from California, maybe I expected something similar to our Seaworld, but it surely does not compare. I ultimately gave it 2 stars because the food wasn't too good, the difficulty of getting to attractions, and the fact the multiple attractions were closed when we were there. read more
Review of Shoreline Restaurant: It's been a long time since I've been to Sea World. I'm so out of touch I thought the resort was called still Nara Resort but that was a lifetime and a lot of Japanese tourists ago. These days it's simply known as Sea World Resort. They have modernised The Shorline's buffet, offering contemporary flavours and concepts whilst still remaining family friendly. Since Exec Chef Klaus Keller started refreshing the menu, he's introduced a number of new offerings such as live cooking stations where patrons can interact with chefs, talking with them and watching their food being freshly cooked. There are other little touches you'd expect to see at higher end places such as using herbs from the restaurants own kitchen garden, innovative plating and presentation and the so very 'now' mini plates and small bites. Shoreline Restaurant is not a Michelin Star experience but that doesn't mean that they aren't striving to make things a little interesting and different for their guests. Friday and Saturday is Seafood Buffet night. There were trawler loads of prawns bugs, crabs and oysters on ice and constantly being replenished. Smoked fish, tempura soft shell crab, seafood chowder, yellow fish curry, scallops and pork belly and an enormous jambalaya were just some of the hot options on offer. A favourite was the Wasabi Tempura Oysters of which I had at least half a dozen and the perfectly cooked garlic prawn skewers, straight from the cooking station. Of course, those not interested in seafood had numerous options in the form of antipasti, truly rare roast beef, stir fry, pork belly, butter chicken, vegetables, salads and more. And yes, there were desserts too! The thing that impressed me most about Shoreline though, was the service. It's always the service that makes or breaks a place for me and this place runs likes a well oiled machine. Staff are friendly and pleasant, whether they are front of house, kitchen staff or in the dining room. Plates and detritus are cleared regularly and there is someone there to assist without hovering or being intrusive. Snaps too, to whomever monitors and manages the buffet area. We all know that buffets can get pretty messy, pretty quickly but there was always sometime in 'tidy and replenish' mode so each time I revisited, the buffet looked neat and inviting. Shoreline is certainly a family restaurant though there were several groups of Baby Boomers and Gen Ys, enjoying the enormous selection of seafood. They may have decided to finish a day at the water park with a bumper dinner, perhaps they were staying at the resort for the weekend or may have been locals enjoying dinner out. Whatever the reason, everyone was enjoying themselves in this very busy restaurant. There are different themes on each night of the week ('Tropical BBQ', 'Italiano' etc) but clearly Friday and Saturday are the big nights for the seafood lovers. This is not haute cuisines but it's fresh, varietal and reflects current food trends. read more
Overall Sea World provided a real fun day out - a great mix of aquarium and theme park. You can see why families with young ones flock here, as there's a lot of kids rides, animals, and shows to keep them thoroughly entertained. The roller-coaster was a mid-level thrill ride (no loops) but tons of fun, and might have been the fact we were there on a Friday, but there was a surprising lack of line considering the crowds present. The other Jet-ski thrill ride was super-fast but a bit violently twisty-turny for my tastes. The log ride is exactly the same as every log ride everywhere. The dolphins are the real stars here, and their show is an absolute must-see. They look super happy playing with each other too, or so I told myself to feel better about seeing such amazing creatures in captivity. Not so sure about the polar bear though. He didn't look so happy with his lot in life. The jet-ski show is filled with impressive stunts but could do without the overwhelmingly obnoxiously loud music and MC putting so much fake-gusto into proceedings. How about we just let the stunts speak for themselves, mmmkay? One big negative - we didn't come across a single water-bubbler all day, which seems pretty mean considering the Queensland sun. That ties into the overall upsell nature here - they unashamedly try to squeeze extra bucks out of you whenever they can, including not allowing you to leave your bags when boarding rides and making you pay to use lockers. All things rival Dreamworld does a lot better with. Small gripes though, and certainly nothing to stop me returning at some stage in the future. Especially love how close it is to Surfers Central. read more

Look, it's pretty nice but I'd still rather be in Johnny Depps hotel a few hundred meters down the road... It is phenomenal for kids but you really don't want to be woken up every morning at eight to the sponge bob square pants theme song. Trust me They have a nice few restaurants and bars, the prices are awful but it's right next to the water park so in theory it's fantastic for families but if you don't have kids, try something else.. read more
This park is great if you love animals or anything to do with the sea and conservation. The sea lion and dolphin shows are a must. From penguins to polar bears there is something for everyone here. The 4d movie with an emphasis on conservation is brilliant. There aren't that many rides here but that is why you get the 3 park pass so you can enjoy a nice relaxing day before or after the craziness of the big ride parks. read more

Sea World is a great day out. Getting up close and personal with the animals via the experiences they offer is really a special thing (though be prepared to pay a little more to enjoy them). As per other tips and reviews, gates open at or around 9am, so get there early, and pre purchased tickets are the best way to go to avoid lengthy queues. We got there at 8:30 and the line was already a out 500 deep. We had pre-booked to go on the penguin experience, so that was the first order of business when we got there, we checked in, had an hour to kill before it started, so grabbed a drink and soaked up some of the sun and atmosphere whilst we waited. Food and drink was a little pricey, and we didn't notice the drinks special ($10 gets you a souvenir cup, with unlimited refills all day) in the morning, would have been a huge saving as it does get warm in the sun! 11am rolled around, and the penguin experience started. W were taken behind the scenes, and learnt a little about the penguins, what they eat, where they came from, how they behave ect, and then led to a room and dressed in snow clothing. After a quick change, we were take up a set of stairs, and all given a bottle of bubble liquid, and told today we would be interacting with the penguins, by blowing bubbles in which they like to pop with their beaks. Led through a huge door, and we were now in the exhibit. People were staring at us through the glass, as we walked on the snow and ice, it was really weird being on the other side! The penguins started to swarm us, letting us pat them (some, you quickly learnt which ones didnt like being touched after a few bites!) as they warmed to us, and played with the bubbles we blew, they got cheeky, and in the 20minutes we had in the enclosure, we really got to see their personalities come out, and I really didnt want to leave.id highly highly recommend this to anyone. After that was over, we walked a lap of the park, seeing everything from polar bears to seals, dolphins to sharks and rays. Lots of interactive areas where you can get involved too, like ray feeding, was lots of fun. Skipped all the rides, would have liked to go on some but my partner wasn't too keen. Exits though the gift shop, always make my heart flutter and I assume it will cost the price of a small car for a key ring and a fridge magnet. Sea World though, surprised me pleasantly. My partner picked up a 60" stuffed polar bear.. It's almost as big as her. Instantly I thought $200, but she got change from a $50 note!!! Getting it back to Sydney wasn't fun though haha. Rally enjoyed my day at the park, love the way that its based around conservation, and the money they make goes back into things like rescuing animals and ensuring their well being. Going on the animal tour, and seeing how much the keepers care for, and their bonds with these animals highlights the work they do, and I'll be back for sure read more

If you're a Queenslander and love everything under the sea, consider getting a Myfun pass for multiple access to Sea World. Kids and big kids will love the touch pool of sea cucumbers and starfish, feeding the gentle friendly rays or watching the hilarious antics of the new polar bear cub Henry from behind the glass. If you have extra dollars to burn, consider booking a face-to-face encounter with a dolphin, seal, shark, penguin or the reef (snorkel or glass bottom boat). Oh, and don't forget to pack your swimmers to jump into the water attractions and rides. read more

I have been to Sea World 8 or 9 times over the course of my life. Most recently a few weeks ago and sadly I was very disappointed in the experience for what you pay for. Entry was expensive and over priced considering the entire kids section was closed and the only had two rides. Three stamp devices on the Sea Creatures trail were broken. Post entry you have to pay for food (should you not BYO), which the seagulls help themselves too anyway. I was given a complimentary sandwich after a seagull aggressively took half of mine. Thank you to that employee! :-) You have to pay for photos with the characters that are rushed and average. (Should you want them). You have to pay for animal encounters, if you can get a spot and wish to. Best to pre-book these. You can pay for a 5min helicopter ride as an option. Souvenirs cost money and the side show attractions cost money. In summary, we had to pay to get in, to pay for everything other than seeing the animals who might rather prefer to be left in the wild. And see shows/other characters that you'll probably miss because you have kids/baby/ies are on a completely other, excitement/tired driven schedule. Unless you are willing to pay hundreds of dollars because you love seeing polar bears and emperor penguins behind a glass wall so much... I would go to an aquarium or Dreamworld. read more

A OK a bit run down in places. Monorail not working. Big walk from one end of park to other to see shows at different times of the day. Not good if old, infirm or just have young family as very tiring. We were lucky it was a cloudy day but some of our family did not see all because of the walk. Some of the exhibits look a bit run down and food vans are not spread evenly around the park. Another thing you have to walk to food stations from one end to other. read more

I went to Seaworld on August 29 2014. Like the other Roadshow owned theme parks, one third of the attractions are regularly closed "for maintenance" to save money during less busy times. The place has got worse each time I have visited and is now appalling value for money - tired, smaller, and lifeless. The food is all sugar or cooked fat - totally inappropriate for children. You were also expected to pay through the nose for a tiny cup of fish to feed the stingrays and the seals. A local tourism operator heard me talking about it and apologized agreeing it is "an absolute disgrace". The signage, announcements, map and staffing levels are all inadequate. The hopeless processes for paying for entry and loading of rides are pathetically slow and create totally unnecessary queues. The staff seem unhappy and poorly trained. I never complain but felt I had to as I was with an extremely disappointed overseas visitor. I wanted a refund. The poor unhappy staff referred me to their supervisor "Paige" who just ran the corporate line - "You can find out about the services and what is closed on the website". How about a sign outside clearly saying what is closed? Never ever again. I recommend it for no-one. I hope the dolphins learn to jump the fence. I certainly couldn't get out fast enough. read more
