Just next to that is a barbecue area complete with tables, benches and gas barbecue which is also covered. On the other side if the playground is a dog run. And what a dog run for pooch. The fenced outer circle is an obstacle course for Fido. The inner fence circle is a mini oval which is the off-leash area. All of this is next to the Woodside rugby and soccer oval. It is perfect to have a barbecue or picnic with family or friends. Last weekend my boyfriend and I grabbed a coffee and some fish and chips and relaxed on the grass in the shade. It is so peaceful looking out to the bay. We went on an overcast day but it didn't matter in the slightest. The space is really well kept and the grass always seems green, even on a cloudy day. Next time we go, we are going to take the pushbikes and make use of the bike track.

She could tell you which park is suitable for different age group, which park has the cleanest BBQ areas or has the most shade or has easy parking or has the best slides. It's a real eye opener tagging along and watching how kids interact with the playground. Whoever designed the Hamilton playground has thought of everything. There are three different designated play areas. One area is clearly for toddlers because the steps are low enough for them to climb up and there are simple slides and seesaws low to the ground. There's an adventure style playground for the older kids (and short adults like me!) with a climbing net and flying foxes. What I was most impressed with was the miniature road set. My nephew was worried that it was a 'real road' and pronounced in a sing song voice that I should get off the road. Once I explained it was a 'pretend road', he happily raced around the track on a pretend motorbike breaking all the road rules but at least giving way to pedestrians. There's an off-leash dog area attached to the park. This looks like gambolling doggy fun with an obstacle course for the bigger dogs. And when you're tired of running around, pop across the road to Portside for a coffee and cake.

Ducks and a variety of birds make their home along the lake. There is one special rotunda where weddings are held. Overall this is a lovely park in a suburban area of the Gold Coast.

If you ask me, the houses off Lawn Street should be worth a fortune by having this field of gold at their door. Glindemann Park has 2 main play areas- up the hill is for the younger kid. It is mostly a shaded fort structure. Older kids need to manoeuvre down a tricky gully to get to the lower area which has a climbing web, swings and slides. There's also a third area a little distance away with a basketball half court and a small skateboarding square. There are a few picnic tables and BBQs but not heaps. I haven't come down on the weekends but I imagine it would be a really popular family picnic destination. The only problem I foresee is that this park is not fenced. This is a particular issue as the toddler area backs onto a fairly busy road. Mums and dads - have fun but keep an eye on roving, young children.

A dog off leash area & a fitness/training section for people that want to get fit. Our favorite at this Park would be the full court basketball, has a few shady hutts great for birthdays, parties or family BBQ. The BBQ is electric There is also toilets and bubbler. Such a great place enjoyed by everyone.
