Natureworks has been sculpting moulding and casting life-size wildlife for almost 40 years. The collection of moulds of sculptural features now numbers over 2000 different individual pieces. Casts can be made in a variety of materials from Fibreglass, Glass Reinforced Cement (GFRC), Hard-Coated Urethane Foam and Cold Cast Bronze. New pieces are being created all the time. They can be adapted for domestic use, playground or zoological standard and are designed, reinforced & finished to varying standards as appropriate to its use.

We started out going through the environment centre, which was only small but had interesting pieces. The staff was friendly and welcoming while we were there and gave us more information and encouraged us to look into more events that Moreton Bay council rang. Afterwards we went on the Hide and Seek Children's trail which was informative and interesting, although we didn't get to see all the things that were promised. We played in the playground for a while, while the adults cooked lunch and then after lunch went on another hike through the other walkways and paths that were labelled around the area. All around it was a great way to spend the day and a way to get out of the house without costing a fortune!!

Right on the bustling, big Rode Road you can pull in to this reserve - also known as the Raven Street Reserve and head past the interpretive centre (open 8.30am - 4pm Mon - Fri) to walk the paths that take you deep into the bush. There are so many species of birds, mammals and reptiles here and if you head and down to the creek and you're really lucky you might spot a bearded dragon sunning itself on a rock or swimming across the creek like a tiny, prehistoric creature. Afterwartds, you can can picnic or barbecue in the reserve and kids love the adventure playground.

Webby, as known by locals, is a three level skate park where an intermediate skater/blader/biker/scooter can find some good lines. The park is quick and smooth and has a number of 4ft quarter pipes, transition and steep berms to do trick off. There are a few ledges that have been waxed up and are pretty fast. The centrepiece of the park is a 5ft kidney shaped bowl. There are a couple of gazebos around but the park is pretty bare of any shade. If you don't have any transport, make sure you pack a feed and some water as there is only one tap there and the closest shops are a good hike towards Chermside.

There's some awesome trails to walk, and the bike path takes advantage of the shade too along the very pretty Kedron Brook. It's a beautiful thing to see kids head off on their bikes with fishing rods in tow and this is not an uncommon sight in Grange Forest Park. Make sure you pay it a visit, your dog will thank you.

There is only 1 area for that age group and they soon become bored. The area itself is quite big and would be a ball for kids aged 6 - 10 years. The food was sensational! MSA quality beef served with chips or potato AND veges or salad. Up there with the best steak I've had in Brisbane I'd say. We had a 2 for 1 voucher from their advertising brochure, so the most expensive items we ordered: Reef & Beef with prawns & calamari though normally $33 was a bargain priced $16.50 each. There is a buffet as well, and many other meal choices under $20 They also do a $10 steak on Monday nights if your looking for a cheap date night out, and a few other bargains throughout the week, trivia etc There was a good little guitarist playing covers & a play area for the kids. Pokies & a TAB in the adults play area ;) All in all it reminded me of going to the footy club with my parents in the country in the late 70s, back when kids fitted in with what the family schedule rather than the other way around ;) We will definitely be back. By Matthew Cornell Chermside Aquatic Centre turned out to be…read morea handy, cost effective alternative to the big theme parks and all that goes with them ( ie cost, road trip, finding a park, finding food, finding shade.... Need I go on?). We had a lovely afternoon here today. My son is 16 and probably on the upper limit of fitting in to the queues for slides and wet activities, but for kids between 5 and 16 I'd say this place is a hit. There were tent loads of groups on the back lawn today and plenty of shade still for me to sit and doze. Staff were reasonably friendly but there was a high emphasis on safety. Plenty of attentive lifeguards and slide supervisors, only one person permitted on the slides at any time and the cafe stocked hot food and the usual assortment of cold and icy refreshments. A cost effective afternoon. Marked down for lack of parking. My score is 4 out of 5.

Entry is very reasonable considering how much entertainment can be had, at $9 for kids and $13 for adults. Great way to spend a sunny Sunday!
