Running was hard at first but I quickly got hooked on it and looked forward to seeing my fellow troopers early mornings 3 days a week. The power of the group really works wonders for motivation, and christa is one of the best group leaders I've ever come across. She has an infectiously positive energy that permeates across more than just exercise. When I was struggling and looking for work, she kept me thinking positive and striving toward my goals. First off, I'll say that this is a group that is in it to support fitness for the long haul. There is no "go till you drop" mentality - it is supportive, fun, and is designed to allow folks to safely and find their own appropriate challenge level. This is fitness with two awesome twists. The first twist is right in the tagline - a "subconscious twist" - and it's highly insightful. How many of our exercise and fitness decisions (and any decision, really) are driven by subconscious stories we tell ourselves? If you haven't thought much about this before, I'll spare you the suspense: A LOT! Fitlandia beautifully incorporates this aspect of ourselves into an overall fitness program that lasts for the long haul, not just until you can see your leg muscles again, or until you can fit in those pants, or until your wedding is over, or until you're bored or frustrated or whatever. The second twist is Christa King, the motivating, positive minded mastermind and cheerleader behind Fitlandia. She brings a diversity of experiences and an intuitive intelligence to take Fitlandia from a brilliant concept to a concrete fitness program that will change lives for the better. The owners take great care to cultivate an elevated vibration of the entire floor, which houses a few massage and Bodywork rooms, the main yoga studio, and the front lounge area.
