Funiculì, funiculà!
This a review of the thing on the train tracks, not the cable car gondola that takes you to Montjuic...
You can transfer straight from the Metro to this funicula- it's like a subway car that goes up a big hill. The floors are all slanted, so you don't fall over, and there's a counterweight that goes down the hill as the train ascends the mountain.
The funicula is all precisely timed as you enter the car. There's a red stopwatch timer that counts down until departure. The front is reserved for wheelchairs, because that's the only place the ramp is when you exit.
It's an easy ride that takes you up what looks to be some really old buildings and some back alleys of buildings and stuff. Meh.
It's a fun experience, and you can combo this ride with that aforementioned cable car ride. read more
