I took the Aerobús to get to the Airport from Plaça de Catalunya. They're located right across El Corte Ingles and it's hard not to spot them. There's a person waiting there so you can purchase tickets on the spot - no need to purchase in advance. They take card too - which is perfect! I believe it cost about 7.25 EUR - which is nothing! Buses run almost every 5 minutes during the peak daytime hours, which was perfect for me as I had a 12pm flight. There are two buses based on the terminal, so make sure you hop on the right bus. I took the bus around 8:15am and arrived to the airport in around 30 mins. Compared to taxis, this is probably the best option since there's no direct access to the airport via train. read more

We purchased a ticket at a self-service machine. The shuttle is cost efficient and also convenient. A one way ticket costs 7.25€ and a round trip ticket costs 12.50€. **December 2022: Weeknight Visit** Looking for an inexpensive way to get from the airport to the city? The Aerobus is located at the base of the airport and to purchase a ticket patrons can use the light blue kiosk. There were a couple of transportation option but if you're looking for a one way ticket for one it's €5.90. My friend and I saw the matching Aerobus logos just as we finished making our purchased and hopped on. The bus itself was clean and spacious and there was plenty of space to put our large luggages. There were several stops but we went all the way too the end of the line then took a taxi to our hotel (since we were exhausted from our flight). It's my first time to Barcelona so at the very least this was an inexpensive way to get into the city! read more

Fabulous !!! Saw this on YouTube when I was researching how to get two of us from the airport to LaRambla with luggage and not break the bank. After clearing customs with your luggage, follow the bus signs out the door of the airport. The Aerobus kiosks and buses are easy to find with their bright light blue paint job. The kiosk walks you through purchasing a one way or round trip ticket for as many people as you need. It takes cash or credit card. Then walk right over to the nearby bus and board. They are very clean. A central rack area to place luggage inside, then two seating areas. Also handicap accessible. It makes four stops- Airport, T1 Plaça España Gran Via - Urgell Plaça Universitat Plaça de Catalunya (City Centre). It takes less than 30 minutes. And our walk from Plaça de Catalunya down the La Rambla to the hotel was very easy. Absolutely will use every time I visit. read more

The best way to get from the airport to the main area of Barcelona! It might be a tad hard to find the pickup place at the airport, and you'll want to have Euros so you can just hop on and pay the driver (the place to purchase a ticket with a credit card was out of order). The hardest part for us was that the luggage area was completely full, so I ended up holding onto my suitcase while standing up (no seats left), while the driver sped down the freeway. After the first stop, many people got off, so we were able to maneuver of luggage so we weren't completely in the aisle. Trying to get to the second stop at the University was impossible as the police had cordoned off the area because of the protests (10-31-19). The driver did a great job of driving around the blocked area and tried to get as close as possible to the second stop. Luckily, we were on for the duration as our stop was the last of the line! I'd definitely take this bus again, even with all the protesters and Halloween! read more

I was really unhappy with Aerobus! We found that you can take these guys from all sorts of stops across the city to get to the airport cheaply and easily. Great! The map indicated that Placa de Universitat was one of the stops! Wonderful! We load up all the luggage, and a wheelchair, and head to the Plaza. We find the blue bus, with the driver standing by the bus, reading a newspaper, smoking a cigarette. Great! The driver says that this bus isn't going anywhere, and to go catch the bus at the other Plaza de Catalunya, a five to ten minute walk, if you don't have a wheelchair and all this luggage. We argue a bit, we're passengers for his bus at his bus stop that he's stopped at, but he wasn't going anywhere. So we go to the Plaza where we find the proper blue bus. We load up all the luggage, get the wheelchair loaded up, and the director says we need to exit the bus so we can enter through the front of the bus to get our tickets scanned. As soon as we get off through the back door to go through the front door, the bus speeds off as we hop off. He leaves with my one of our party in a wheelchair and all our luggage without us! I go sprinting off through traffic to chase down the bus, shouting like a madman dodging cars and other buses, and catch up a block later at a stoplight. I jump in front of the bus and start shouting that I'm not moving unless I'm inside that bus. Everyone inside the bus looks alarmed. The driver apologizes and says he didn't see us, and is very sorry, and hop on in, no need to check your tickets now. As we speed along to the airport across Barcelona, there's all these people waiting at the designated bus stops, there's plenty of room available on the bus, especially if you stand, but the bus driver wouldn't allow everyone at every stop on and would limit the number of passengers at some stops, even though we had more room. Other times, he'd slow and just drive by these stops without stopping. In the end, the driver was very apologetic, we got to the airport, but it was less than ideal to have to go sprinting through traffic and jumping in front of a bus to get on board. read more

Getting around in a new city can be stressful, especially if you don't know the local language. Thankfully, Aerobús takes most of the stress out of getting between the airport and central Barcelona. Service runs 365 days a year and buses come about once every 5 minutes. The fare is €5.90 one-way or €10.20 round-trip. We purchased online and exchanged our printed vouchers with the driver for a receipt/ticket. At the airport there were multiple buses queued up, so there was no wait. The bus was clean and felt modern. The automated system announced stops in both Spanish and English, and a monitor showed the name and distance in meters of the next stop. There was free WiFi onboard. The bus made multiple stops, with the final stop being Plaça de Catalunya, the large square at the city centre. In central Barcelona, the bus had its own dedicated lane of traffic, meaning no traffic jams for us! The return trip was equally as smooth and uneventful. At the pickup spot at Plaça de Catalunya, there were separate buses going to the T1 and T2 terminals of the airport, respectively. Taking the train would've cost the same, but the train from the airport departs only every half hour. Thus, Aerobús was the clear winner. I don't often see a transit system that's as well run as this! read more

It's the worst client service ever! I've used this bus in end of February. By mistake I bought 2 tickets, so I've asked for reimbursement, it was done a bit later. BUT!!! They sent about 6 euros to my account but my bank charged me 13 euros for international transfer as Aerobus did not pay these fees. Very strange, taking into account that I live in France... I contacted their client service several times, they told that my case is transferred to Financial department and.... since then they just do not answer my messages! No reimbursement, of course... Yes, if you, Aerobus, are reading it now, my complaint number is 20230369) Moreover you can call them only from Spanish telephone number. So I can't even make a call! This was entirely too easy. From the airport to Plaça de Catalunya, I thought was going to be the more difficult transitions of my stay in Barcelona. Instead, I followed the signs at the airport to the bus areas and as I come down the ramp, there's the A1 bus that says "Plaça de Catalunya" on the front. Easy! Pay the bus driver with cash and get a receipt. Nice! A short drive later, the bus stopped and I piled off with my suitcase and backpack. Was it perfect? It was mildly comfortable with a seatmate next to me that had his suitcase on his lap. There was wifi but it didn't seem to work very well. The bus driver spent the first two thirds of the ride chatting with one of her colleagues who was sitting in the front row. And gesturing with her right hand. And mostly staying in the lane for the bus. Considering that the sign says "do not distract the driver," I was just a little concerned about this. read more

Easy to purchase the tickets from a kiosk right outside the airport. Buses leave every few minutes so if you don't get on the first one you see, another will be right behind. You don't have to wait long. Bus was clean and there was plenty of room for all our luggage. They have free WiFi onboard which was very helpful. We rode this 1 way on the first leg of our journey and on the second leg (when we returned back to Barcelona from a cruise) we bought a round trip ticket which only cost us 10,20 euro (in comparison to our 1 way ticket cost of 5,90 euro) So you do save a little buying a round trip ticket if you need one. read more

We rode the Aerobús from the airport to Plaça de Catalunya in the morning during a flight layover, and explored the city for several hours, and then rode the bus back from Plaça de Catalunya to the airport. Mind you, I'm a fan of Barcelona's metro (subway) system, and was delighted when they completed the link on the L9-(Sud) to the BCN Airport. With luck, I could be home in about an hour and 40 minutes. That said, I'm not a fan of mold, and... that's what's developed in the tunnel over the last year. Especially closer to the airport, where they tunneled under marshland - if you're sensitive to mold like I am, you'll be wheezing before your ride is over. Aerobús to the rescue! For about 1.5 Euros more than the subway, the buses are clean, quick, efficient, and there's very little waiting for the next one to arrive. AND NO MOLD! Aerobús 1 (to and from Terminal 1) and Aerobús 2 (Terminal 2) both cost the same, € 5,90 one way or € 10,20 round-trip, and tickets may be purchased online. Free WiFi, too. Oh, and our last time on there shaved almost 1/2 hour off of the ride home from BCN. This is the way to go! read more

Barcelona is one of the most tourist-friendly cities in Europe. An example of this is the public transportation system - one of the most organized and easiest to learn as a tourist. Considering that BCN, like most airports, is located a considerable distance from the city, one of the most important factors when judging a city's public transit system is how efficiently it get large amounts of people from the airport to the city proper. There are two main public transit systems used to transport people. - Aerobús - L9 Sud (rail) I highly prefer Aerobús to L9 Sud even though the rail is cheaper (cost: €4.50). The main advantage is that Aerobús takes you directly to the main plazas such as Plaça de Catalunya and Plaça d'Espanya (and the corresponding Metro stops) while for L9 Sud you have to transfer to the correct line towards your final destination. LOGISTICS - COST: €10.20 round trip (which is exactly the same amount as the other most important ticket for Barcelona sightseeing, the T-10), which can be redeemed up to 15 days after arrival. Otherwise single ticket is €5.90. Note that they have a separate ticket and is not redeemable using a regular Metro ticket. - You can pay with card if you purchase your ticket at the machine located at the airport but CASH ONLY if you pay an actual person. - Stops at each of the two terminals with 5-10 minute intervals beginning at 5:30am until midnight. Journey takes about 35 minutes from airport to center of the city. - Free wifi and USB charging but you have to register your e-mail address (kinda iffy about this, so I didn't use it). Seats were fairly comfortable and there was plenty of space for luggage. As a person who's usually averse to taxis especially in a foreign country I found this service to be efficient and safe to use. The ideal way to travel between the airport and the city centre. At a very good price of 5.90 euros for one way, this lovely air conditioned and spacious bus takes you straight from the airport into the city centre, with 3 different stops in the city depending on where you need to get to. Definitely cheaper than getting a taxi and less dangerous than getting on the Metro in terms of pickpockets. And the best thing? Buses came at around once every 5 minutes! We didn't feel the rush to catch the bus and needing to plan the timing around departures which made the process less stressful. Also, if the bus was getting too full, just wait 5 minutes for the next one instead of feeling defeated and deflated. Even if you're a tourist who's a little bit nervous about finding your way in a new city, honestly Aerobus was one of the easiest things. Do not bother with a taxi even if you feel like you can't catch your bearings. The final stop of Aerobus is Placa de Catalunya, which is a major hub in Barcelona with loads of taxis around. We were lucky that it was only 6 minutes walk from our hotel, but even if you're a little further away taking the bus into the city and then a small taxi ride would be far less expensive than just a taxi throughout. Would definitely recommend the use of Aerobus to anyone - experienced or inexperienced travellers alike! read more

We seem to fly yearly in or out of Barcelona before or after a transatlantic cruise. We always spend a few days enjoying the city and our mode of transportation to the airport to or from our hotel is always the Aerobus. Honestly, you can't beat it. It's clean, efficient, priced right and all the stops are at metro stations. Also love that I can purchase my ticket online before I arrive so if I don't have Euros as soon as I get off the plane I don't have to do an exchange at the airport, I can wait and just pull cash from an ATM once I get to Placa Catalunya. The bus leaves every 5-10 minutes 24 hrs a day from Plaza Catalunya and other stops in Barcelona on the way to the airport. It's a 25-45 minute drive depending on the traffic so plan accordingly. Placa d'Espanya, a major intersection on the way to the airport, is a massive clusterfuk at night in the rain. The bus has wifi and multiple USB ports to charge your electronic weapon of choice. €5.90, not sure why it's not rounded up but there you go. €10.20 if you buy a RT. Certainly the cheapest way to get to the airport, but factor in the time and expense getting to the stop as well. Taxi cost was around €25 from El Prat so if you're in a group it's worth it. Landed at BCN Terminal 1 (like most people) and took a shuttle bus to the train station, actually an end-of-the-line siding, at Terminal 2. Waited perhaps 15 minutes, a few locals cut the line, prayed my wife and I and our luggage would find space on this crowded train. Don't do this. Don't do a cab. Do Aerobus. For our return trip, we jumped on at Plaza Catalunya, much closer to the Jazz Hotel and for less than E$6 each (only about E$2 more), they took us right to Terminal 1. Very friendly staff. Nice, newer buses designed for luggage. Buses come every 5-10 minutes during most of the day. No-brainer. read more

Whatever you do, don't be that sucker buying "commission free" €€€ at baggage claim. Stay Sucka Free and just get cash at a local atm in the city instead. Just make sure that you have a debit card that doesn't charge you those bullshit fees when overseas because that shit is for inexperienced suckers. Brilliant way to get from el prat to the centre of Barcelona, the buses are frequent, comfy and have plugs and wifi. You can get a return ticket for around 10 Euros. Placa de Catalunya is very central and from there you can walk or get the subway pretty much anywhere. No cons. read more

Great option for people who don't want to spend nearly €30 or more to get into the city via taxi. I first tried Spain's Aerobus in Madrid a few years back and loved how convenient and inexpensive it was. After arriving at the airport, we followed the signs for the Aerobus and purchased our tickets while waiting in line. You can purchase a ticket through the machine, clerk or bus driver. The cost for one way is €5.90, which is a pretty good bargain. There's only a couple of stops that the bus makes but with the busy street traffic, it will still take around 35-45 minutes to get into the city center. Just keep in mind that when heading back to the airport, there's two separate bus lines for each of the two terminals at El Prat. Also, if leaving from Plaça de Catalunya, there will be a long line of people waiting, especially for the A1 bus. The good thing is that the line moves fast due to a bus arriving every few minutes. read more

Aerobús is an awesome way to get downtown from the Airport if you are in Barcelona. It picks you up right outside of the airport, and drops you off at one of 3 stops downtown in Barcelona. It ends at Placa de Catalunya downtown, which is probably the closest to most hotels in Barca. It was the easiest stop for us. As of May 2017 the ride only costs 5.90 Euros and takes about half an hour. Google maps was saying the train ride takes about an hour, so we ended up using it to and from the airport. They also claim to have free wifi but it didn't work on either bus for us. Overall I thought it was an extremely easy to use service for a great price. Would definitely use it again. read more

Cheap transit to/from El Prat de Llobregat (BCN) and downtown. €5.30 one way, €9.15 round trip Nice area in the middle of the bus for everyone's suitcases. Clean and modern buses. Convenient stops on the way in (Pl. España, GranVia-Urgell, Pl. Universitat, Pl. Catalunya) and way out ( Pl. Catalunya, Sepulveda-Urgell, Pl. España). Buses come by every 5-10 min. Different bus for Terminal1 and Terminal2, so try to know which terminal you are flying out of. It's a bit of a ride into the city, so you'll be better off if you get a seat. On the way to the airport we went to Pl Catalunya to catch the bus even though we had a closer stop. Wasn't necessary because the bus was not full and we would have gotten a seat anyway (8am weekday). read more

I took the Aerobus three times during my trip and it couldn't have been an easier journey. Luckily for us, for all 3 times we took the Aerobus, we never had to wait. But, they're very frequent and reliable. Definitely recommend this way to get to/from the airport! Upon collecting your checked luggage, exit the area and head towards the front door, a little towards the left of the exit and look for signs that say *Aerobus" stop. In more depth: For a first time international traveler to Barcelona, Aerobus provided a very, very, VERY cheap and efficient way to get from the airport to the city center. Bus ride was still $5.90 EURO per person as of Dec 2015, and buses came every few minutes. We thought we were not going to make the bus that was at the stop, because the line was too long, yet, before the 1st bus could finish boarding, a 2nd one had already pulled up! As other's have commented, if you also have luggage to drag around, the buses have ample space to put luggage (normal airport shuttle type luggage racks in each bus). In addition, the buses were: 1. VERY clean 2. Have city maps on the, for tourists 3. have.... Got me from BCN airport to the city centre based upon a friend's recommendation, and I'm very glad I did. Being from NY, buses aren't the greatest here. I have to say these buses were extremely clean and comfortable, along with cheap. 6 euro gets you about a half hour ride with minimal stops to the city centre. Free wifi signs all over the bus, but it doesn't really work well at all. Buses run frequently too. Do yourself a favor and take this instead of spending major money on a cab. This ended up dropping us about half a mile from our hotel, which was perfectly ok for us. On the way back to the airport, there are 2 buses to choose from... either T1 or T2. You just have to know which terminal you are, and it will correspond with which bus will drop you off at the appropriate area. read more

An airport shuttle that is easy to find, cheap, drops you in the centre of town and comes along at five minute intervals, probably the best airport shuttle service I have been on in Europe. You can either buy your tickets from a machine with a credit card or with cash from one of the attendants. The tickets only cost just over €11 for a return journey. The buses themselves are air conditioned and come with free WiFi which came in handy as I couldn't remember the name of my hotel when I landed. The ride into town takes around 25 minutes and stops off in a number of places before terminating at Placa de Catalunya. I cannot find fault with this service. read more

I really don't think there is a better airport shuttle anywhere. The shuttle comes along every five minutes. You don't have to wait in some super long line. You can buy your ticket at the kiosk or pay cash with an attendant. FREE WI-FI and its a good connection. Air conditioning was in great condition. I was gonna take the subway downtown after getting off the airplane, so I went downstairs in the terminal and the first thing I see is this Aerobus. I check it out to make sure I can get to my hotel. I figure what the heck, so I get on board. Nice comfy bus, but get a window seat that is not partially obscured by window advertising so you can see the sights better. The Aerobus just made a few stops, so it was pretty direct to where we were going near the Playa Catalonya. You are at the mercy of Barcelona traffic, but we were on vacation, so why not? I'd take the Aerobus again. read more
