    Rules on the bus
    Bruce K.

This was entirely too easy. From the airport to Plaça de Catalunya, I thought was going to be the more difficult transitions of my stay in Barcelona. Instead, I followed the signs at the airport to the bus areas and as I come down the ramp, there's the A1 bus that says "Plaça de Catalunya" on the front. Easy! Pay the bus driver with cash and get a receipt. Nice! A short drive later, the bus stopped and I piled off with my suitcase and backpack. Was it perfect? It was mildly comfortable with a seatmate next to me that had his suitcase on his lap. There was wifi but it didn't seem to work very well. The bus driver spent the first two thirds of the ride chatting with one of her colleagues who was sitting in the front row. And gesturing with her right hand. And mostly staying in the lane for the bus. Considering that the sign says "do not distract the driver," I was just a little concerned about this.

Easy to purchase the tickets from a kiosk right outside the airport. Buses leave every few minutes so if you don't get on the first one you see, another will be right behind. You don't have to wait long. Bus was clean and there was plenty of room for all our luggage. They have free WiFi onboard which was very helpful. We rode this 1 way on the first leg of our journey and on the second leg (when we returned back to Barcelona from a cruise) we bought a round trip ticket which only cost us 10,20 euro (in comparison to our 1 way ticket cost of 5,90 euro) So you do save a little buying a round trip ticket if you need one.

An excellent, and inexpensive way to get from El Prat into the city. We rode the Aerobús from the airport to Plaça de Catalunya in the morning during a flight layover, and explored the city for several hours, and then rode the bus back from Plaça de Catalunya to the airport. The bus was clean, the wi-fi worked well, and the schedule allows so that you are never waiting very long for a bus.

As a tourist with luggage visiting Barcelona, there is no better way to get to the city centre than taking Aerobus. Just follow the signs when you get off the plane and I can guarantee that there is one waiting for you when you get to the bus stop since it is a bus scheduled every 5 minute! No stupid surcharges that tourists like me doesn't understand or aware....... (that experience would be for another yelp review!) 5.90 Euro one way, will be using that again!

Great service and fast! If not paying by credit card, bypass that line and board the bus where you can pay the driver. No bills over 100€ accepted. The only stops it makes is when someone wants off. From airport to plaza España was about a quick 21mins. Big blue bus outside by the sidewalk at the bus stop - you can't miss it!

We got on the Aerobus at Placa de Catalunya. It made 2 quick stops, while heading toward the airport. Bus was very clean, and they have storage racks to put your luggage in. Just make sure you get on the correct bus. There is a T1 that goes to terminal 1, and the T2 goes to terminal 2. A taxi driver told me it would be about 30 euros to go to the airport, so the bus is a great deal.

Heading out of this great city. Tears in the rain. €5.90 to El Prat from Plaça de Catalunya is a deal!

There are also separate tickets available to go to the airport. The kiosk is fairly easily to use although we wanted to speak with an agent to make certain we understood. An agent is available and we spoke to her. She only spoke Spanish and I was able to decipher what she was telling us. We ended up purchasing one of the unlimited tickets. Tickets become validated the moment you use them to enter the station. Outside of the station are Metro maps. Be sure to grab one so that you know which route to use. It is an easy system provided you're on the correct platform going in the direction desired. The locals will help you as some speak English. Luckily I knew the Spanish terminology. Clean and safe although the trains tend to be very crowded. Trains run fairly often. Just be aware of your important items.

Purchasing tickets are easy through the ticket machines. I purchased a T-Casual as that was more than enough for me. That amounted to about 12 EUR. Note that because I arrived in Barcelona via the Renfe, I didn't need to worry about purchasing a separate airport ticket, which would've coughed up an extra 5 EUR. Google Maps and the Citymapper app helped me plot my journey across my time in Barcelona, but the stations clearly point out the stops as needed. They do go a bit deeper underground, but the stations itself are more accessible friendly due to the 92 Olympics. When inside the train, most of the announcements are indeed in Spanish, but you can figure out where you need to go. Just like most cities in Europe, remember to open the latch or press the button to exit the train. Overall, an easy and pleasant way to get around Barcelona.
