Probably the fastest and easiest cruise terminal I have used. I'm shy of 30 cruises and have used this port four times. The layout for the space is great. It's never been congested for the thousands coming and going in a few hours. Everything is well marked. Bag drop off east. Security quick. There's a decent sized duty shop for last minute items on your way to the ship. And wow, you're on. Disembarking is fairly easy too. Luggage.......a bit of a story. A couple of years ago I waited an hour for my luggage to appear. This year I left the ship 45 minutes later than assigned time and still waited about 15 minutes. Not a big deal as I wasn't racing to catch a plane. But allow the time if you are flying out same day. Taxis were quickly and easily available from the port. Yes, it's a great port to leave and or return to. read more

We have used this Cruise terminal a few times now and always had a good experience. They have multiple terminals (A-H) in the Moll Adossat Quay Piers and seldom have we had any issues with congestion. Taxi and bag pickup up have been quick and seamless. On our recent trip we counted 5 ships and didn't have any issues on the trip to our hotel. About a 1/2 hour from the City Center and Europe's busiest cruise Hub. read more

The cruise port in Barcelona currently has seven terminals that accommodate 3 million passengers per year, but because the local people do not like so many tourists, the port is being renovated in the next several years so that it has only three terminals. In September 2025, my husband and I went on a cruise in and out of the Barcelona cruise port. The security checks, baggage claim, and cruise check-in went smoothly. I liked the duty-free shops that sold quality souvenirs. The city of Barcelona itself has many restaurants and fun activities, which I reviewed separately. Barcelona is another port that is easy to access on a European cruise. We've actually been in and out of this port several times with the family. On our most recent European vacation, we took a shuttle to start the day at Sagrada Familia. This worked perfectly as large mini vans were available with fixed pricing. Our taxi driver gave us a lot of information along the way. At the end of the day, after walking 28,000 steps, we hopped into a taxi to get back to the cruise terminal. Our driver even wished us a very Happy Mother's Day! A few years ago, we took the shuttle to catch the Barcelona Turistic Bus from the cruise terminal. This was a very easy way to explore Barcelona. This was our 2nd time visiting the cruise terminal in Barcelona. It was 10 years ago in May that we started a 3-day cruise from this very same port on the NCL Epic to Marseille and Palma de Mallorca. We (along with my mother) stayed in the Diagonal Mar part of Barcelona for another 5 days touring the entire region. We had such a wonderful time. Flash forward to May of 2025... we arrived at this port from Civitavecchia on that very same ship. Everything looks exactly the same as I remember. What made it even more special is that we arrived on Mother's Day. We didn't even plan it that way. It was like mom was with us the entire day. Everything went as smoothly as it did 10 years ago. It may not be the same terminal. We docked at Terminal C this time. Honestly, I remember being closer to the Porta d'Europa bridge. However, I totally remember seeing the cable cars going up and down from Montjuic. It's a beautiful sight, and a beautiful city. The only advice that I have is to get back to the terminal at least an hour before debarkation. We did, and the line was short going through security. The line will be out the door and way into the parking lot if you get there at the very last minute. Yikes, I couldn't believe how long it was. It's just something to consider when planning a shore excursion. Other than that, it was a great experience full of wonderful memories. read more

Well I am sorry to say our great Celebrity Equinox Mediterranean cruise has come to an end here at the Barcelona cruise port. I have been in Celebrity Solstice class before including the Celebrity Equinox Solstice class. This was my first time to reserve the Equinox V1 prime verandah for a 9 day Mediterranean cruise for $8,131, for both of us including the cruise, taxes, port fees, upgraded beverage package, WiFi as well as insurance on deck nine. The cost did not include our airfare, which I booked separately. As I previously reviewed, our boarding of our ship in Barcelona was well organized and went smoothly. The complimentary WiFi on the ship sucked except for using the Celebrity WiFi passenger messaging service, which seemed to work fine. I was able to successfully text our friends on the ship. The cruise started from Barcelona, Spain to Seville (Cadiz), Spain, Lisbon Portugal, Porto, (Leixoes) Portugal and Tangiers, Morocco returning back to Barcelona. We actually passed through the Strait of Gibraltar twice to and from Barcelona. We especially enjoyed the lobster tail and prime rib night although the lobster tail was small and the prime rib was a thin cut compared to a typical prime rib in the USA. The lobster tail was around 6 ounces. The food was a bit lacking, but the service personnel were all great. We loved our dining table staff and our favorite martini bar including my favorite lychee martini. I also enjoyed my Cattier French champagne. Our cruise ship return to the Barcelona cruise port also went smoothly as we easily disembarked and located our luggage in the cruise terminal warehouse. Celebrity arranged many airport buses and loaded our large luggages back to the Barcelona Airport. At the Barcelona airport there were lots of Celebrity staff to unload our large luggages before we departed our bus to check in . So far I have achieved 42 cruise nights with Celebrity. I am currently Select with 249 club points. I need 51 club points to reach the next level of Elite. We are planning our next European cruise on either Celebrity or NCL. Been here twice in the past two years. Both with Royal Caribbean. Once on the "Harmony of the Seas" and once on the brandnew "Wonder of the Seas". In 2021 restrictions and security were high due to Covid-19. A lot of paperwork needed. But made everybody feel safe. Staff here really took it very serious and still made the embarking quick and well organised. In Fall 2022 we came back. Almost all restrictions were lifted and there were more cruise ships and passengers. But still the port was very well staffed and organised. Quick check-in, only little waiting time. Some shops to grab some souvenirs if you get bored waiting. Free WiFi in the lobby. We were on the ship even before the announced time. So, very happy with that. Disembarking is also very quick and easy here. Loads of taxis waiting to bring you to the city or the airport. A lot of people walk to the port. It's manageable, but a taxi is quick and cheap. And with all the luggage we took that option. read more

09/16/17 This port is easy to find and get to. The port building is clean and has restrooms including a small shop and a snack bar. The cruise terminal here in Barcelona was very well organized. They kept us on the ship while the majority of the crowds got off the ship and were processed through passport control. When it was our turn I only waited behind 3 people and I got a Spanish passport stamp. Then the bags were just a few steps away and they were easy to find. My only complaint was the long line at the taxi stand, but that really isn't the fault of the terminal. They had 6 taxis at a time loading up as fast as they could. read more

Cruise lines, please, please, please warn your passengers of the street crime in Barcelona that they should be made aware of as they arrive in Barcelona. The morning of our cruise, we were in route to the Picaso Museum in the La Alhambra area and my wife and I were assaulted and robbed by two your men who spoke terrible Spanish with an Arab accent. I gave pursuit after they ripped my forearm as they pried off my watch. We were then told by the responding nearby shop owners that the La Alhambra area, 2 blocks from the Museum was extremely dangerous and this sort of street crime occurs very often. We were told by the Barcelona Police that their street crime is the 2nd worse in Europe! read more

From the port to airport taxi ride is 39 euro flat. We mistakenly reserved bus tickets from downtown to airport for around 5 euro per person, didn't think about how much trouble to take public bus from the port to downtown query carry on. The cruise terminal is accessible by taxi, the blue shuttle bus, private cars, or by walking. Walking is not recommended as it looks far from the pier to the Columbus monument. Do not worry if you do not know which terminal your cruise is departing from. You can see your cruise ship on the road approaching the pier. Embarkation We walked six-seven blocks from our hotel, Hotel Tryp Apolo Barcelona on Av. Paral.let to the Columbus monument on La Rambla. Then we hopped onto the blue shuttle bus ($3.50 Euros one-way) to the cruise terminal. It does get busy and crowded when everyone is trying to get to the cruise terminals. The shuttle bus will drop you off near the terminal. No worries about finding your way. We could have taken a taxi but it was a nice day and we needed to burn some time before the cruise ship would allow guests to board. The cruise terminal will allow you to carry on your own luggage if they are small and can fit into their x-ray machines. Otherwise, you will have to let the portals take your back onto the ship. There is a variety of stores including a liquor store after checking in with the cruise line. We were able to purchase a small bottle of rum and bring it on board without being confiscated. This is not the case with other ports we visited. Disembarkation We took a taxi from the cruise terminal our hotel near Plaça de Catalunya. The cost was $20 Euros. It was simple besides the wait for taxi. The line was long but there was lots of taxi in queue to pick up passengers. The wait time was about 20 minutes. Summary Access to the cruise terminal was easy and simple. There are many transportation methods of getting to and from the ship. We decided to arrive early one day to get used to the time change. However, you can definitely take a taxi directly from the airport to the cruise terminal. Budget Minded Traveler - You can take the Aerobus from the Barcelona airport ($5.30 Euros) to Plaça de Catalunya and then walk towards the Columbus monument on La Rambla. There you can catch the terminal shuttle ($3.50 Euros) to your cruise. This is a great way to see La Rambla (tourist mega - stores and restaurants) You will see many tourist walking on La Ramble with their luggage walking to the terminal or to their hotels. Just make sure you budget at least 2 to 3 hours to enjoy the walk. read more

The terminal is really first class and arriving by taxi we were greeted by our cruise ship's staff and our luggage whisked away. But beware of the staff at the port's security scanning point. After placing all items and hand luggage into the tray, I was ordered by a staff member to take off my watch and place it into the tray. I removed my watch, placed it into the same tray and then pushed the tray into the scanner machine. Never in my countless travels had I been requested to do this. I was first in line with no other people in front of me going through the scanning procedure. After clearing the body scanning point I retrieved my items and was alerted by my wife "where is your watch?" I queried the staff as to the whereabouts of my watch and received blank stares as if to indicate: what watch? Both my wife and I again asked where the watch was and once again "what watch?" As we were getting quite agitated a female customer officer (supervisor) approached us to ask what we had "lost"! We explained that we had lost nothing but that my watch had "disappeared" from the tray entering the scanner to exiting the scanner! She escorted us to a desk some 10 metres away and requested that I to describe the "lost" watch - brand, colour, gender. I described the make, colour, wrist band etc. and she then produced a box with two watches, one of which was mine! How did my watch get from the scanner to a point 10 metres away in just a few seconds? Staff then querying about my "lost" watch? I would suggest that this is a scam perpetrated by the port's security staff hoping that in the haste to collect one's items from the tray and excitement to rush off to board the ship, you would only notice that your watch was missing some time later!!! Only one other passenger (out of some 30) that I spoke to on the ship was requested to remove his watch. Beware! read more

I absolutely 100% agree with the other review here - this is, by far, one of the best cruise terminals that I've ever been to. Although, unlike the other reviewer, Barcelona was our embarkation port, not a visit port. For embarkation: I found the location to be easily accessible. We told the cab driver where we wanted to go and he instantly knew where we were going. No issues whatsoever. The embarkation process was so easy and well done. If I have a choice of where to start my cruise in Europe, I would absolutely pick the Barcelona cruise terminal again. read more

Left Barcelona on a Celebrity cruise ship in May for the Mediterranean. The terminal is way out at the end of a very long pier, so walking is out of the question. We just took a cab here from our hotel and got dropped off in the terminal parking lot so close to the terminal itself, we did need any help rolling our bags from the taxi to the cruise ship porters who will then take your bags, assuming you put the Celebrity baggage tags on them that you got in the mail. They had ice water waiting for you as you waited in a long line to check in. Line moved OK and the check in went very well. You can walk right past the photographers looking to take the first of many photos of you to buy if you want, and get right on board. Very organized and smooth. Let this terminal be the least of your worries on your vacation. read more

Wow compared to other European and American terminals I have visited recently, this Terminal is a dream! I docked here this past week on the Maiden Voyage of Celebrity Cruises' Silhouette from Hamburg. The terminal building entry atrium (from the ship side terminal B) is made of brushed copper and has several skylights that light your ride down the escalator. A taxi ride into town is around 10 E. We went to the Olympic Mies van der Rohe Pavilion directly from the terminal by cab and that was around 18 E for two people and took about 20 minutes. You could walk into town from the terminal but it is not a pretty walk and would take probably about 30 to 45 minutes. Plan on taking a cab. There is a large train station near the port (by cab) but I am not sure if that is the one that goes directly to the airport. (I arrived and left via ship). Compared to Civitaveccia which is 90 minutes away from Rome (and rather a dump in comparison) starting a cruise here or docking here and visiting Barcelona is a breeze. read more

I've been on over a dozen cruises from a variety of embarkation ports including Florida, the Caribbean, and Europe. I have embarked on cruises more than once from Barcelona from the Port of Barcelona. This port is easy to get to from any part of the city. From our rental apartment on Passeig de Gracia, 44, near Plaza Catalunya, you could walk to the port in about 30 minutes. In November the weather is pretty great for a walk of that distance. Port of Barcelona is clean and very nicely designed. The wait to get checked-in and on board for the Norwegian Epic was about 20-30 minutes. Boarding time was listed for the Epic as starting at noon. It also mentioned you should not arrive more than an hour in advance of boarding time. We did breakfast at a local cafe before heading to the port between 11am and 12pm. The port has some shops with the typical souvenir items just before the elevators to board. It's easy to navigate for anyone jumping on a cruise, disembarking, or just enjoying Barcelona as a port of call. I will surely be back for another cruise from Barcelona! read more
