I didn't know what I didn't know about strength training when I walked into Rob's studio 3 years ago.

Front Desk Attendants are helpful and attentive with the members of the gym! Not that big of a gym…read morebut can get through 8 exercise machines in an hour. Would give it a five star if the outside gym was open and available for use the last time I was there. Hope to see the outside gym open for use if it seems likely in the near future.

Been coming here for over 20 years. Used to work out a lot and enjoyed being able to come here '24…read morehours'.... Of course that ship sailed and they're basically '12 hours fitness' now... then of course they renegotiated their lease down so the outdoor gym (which was the greatest thing about this gym') is gone. Along with the pool, etc. Eventually all I could really commit to as I got older was Saturday and Sunday night - I'm too wiped out during the week, the place closes early now, etc. So I tailored a quick circuit training routine for 20-30-40 minutes depending on how much time I have on a given day. Show up at 7:20 or 7:30 or 7:40 before they close at 8:00PM - get in a quick cardio-like weight workout and get out - easy! Been doing this now for a year or two. Today 7/25/26 I came in at 7:20PM and the door was locked ! - Again, posted closing time is 8PM - people were in the gym working out - like I said, they close at 8PM which leaves me 20 minutes for a quick pump and leg circuit... only 'officer 24 hours' is on duty and would not unlock the door. Stayed 10 feet behind the glass door tapping his watch like I was a school kid who was late and would not be let in - EVEN THOUGH THE POSTED CLOSING TIME IS 8PM.... Hey I get it, I come in close to closing, but they announce the time remaining and I always comply and have never been the last one out - even though I am sometimes the last one in. I get my quick workout in, and I'm gone! Nonetheless apparently being a member means you are locked out at 7:40 on a night they close at 8PM. It seems officer on duty is named Nick. Well Thank You Nick, sometimes it is good to be reminded to change things up a bit and try something new. Today I cancelled my membership of 20+ years and have gone elsewhere. I know I am only one person and you have hundreds of members - but as a 'member' I kinda thought I was paying for the time posted on the sign, not the whim of some wanna be officer or school principal disciplining the members - or whatever your head case is. Wish you all the best - 24 hours Simi has come a long way, not always good though, but what's always good is to check out something else. Bye! -Jeff

So I decided I wanted to make a change in my health, weight and lifestyle and heard a lot of good…read morethings about this place so decided to check it out. I signed up for the 6 week 20lb challenge. So basically you're suppose to lose 20 lbs in 6 weeks and they give you a whole diet plan and weight loss strategy guide to follow. I'll be honest it isn't easy and takes a lot of change but I was determined and dedicated. You can go to as many classes as you like a week they have 3 in the AM and 3 in the PM Monday thru Thursday and am classes Friday and Saturday. It's a lot of HIIT training and different types of workouts with one trainer. Each class is about an hour long and they recommend at least 5 classes a week. I loved all the trainers I worked with they kept me motivated and feeling inspired. I worked my butt off and was able to lose 22lbs in 6 weeks which is amazing. I feel like a whole new person and I decided to do another challenge so I can get to my goal weight. As I said before it isn't east and takes a lot of work and determination. I am truly grateful for everyone at The Camp trainers and staff . They are all amazing people. If you are looking to lose weight and improve your overall health this is the place to do it !!! Here are some pics of my transformation !! I owe so much to The Camp and want to thank them for everything !!!

If I could rate this place a ZERO a I would. A few days ago I came to join the gym here and signup…read morewith my Active & Fit Membership. I have never regretted a decision so quickly. Upon arrival on Saturday, the manager on duty was cleaning up the office and did greet me. However, from then on it became an interaction of pure negativity and criticism about the Active & Fit program. Despite introducing myself right away and stating I wanted to signup, the manager NEVER introduced myself and seemed cantankerous almost like he didn't want to be there. I pulled up my Active & Fit membership info and provided my DL right away. However, the manager decided a better use of his time would be to criticize the Active & Fit program/membership for the next (5) minutes. Instead of him selling me on the gym, the experience and/or what I wanted to get from this location, he proceeded to condemn, criticize and complain about Active & Fit nonstop in between me confirming my info. Initially I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't have his morning coffee, but as he trudged through his cantankerous commentary, it became obvious he detested and despised the program saying it "costs the gym money if you're not serious and don't attend." After lambasting, and being highly critical of the Active & Fit membership, he actually had the guts to look me in the eye and state, "You will have to pay fees to workout here and you'll have to pay. There is a signup fee." NEVER did he ever discuss or disclose the benefits of choosing this gym at all. I immediately requested my ID back and demanded he erase all my information before leaving his office. After watching him delete my information I couldn't believe what I had witnessed. In my entire professional career, he was easily one of the worst managers I've had the displeasure of working with and couldn't believe he was an actual manager. How do you mess up an easy sign up like he did? Even if I disagreed with a vendor I would NEVER openly criticize and condemn them in front of a potential client. You never know who someone may be. I voiced these frustrations to the "manager" and said you shouldn't do that ever in front of a customer, client, and/or potential one even if you disagree or may be having a bad day. The saddest part was, the manager didn't refute my commentary and suggestions. He literally looked dumbfounded and it makes sense why there wasn't that much activity in the gym. And yes I did notify Active & Fit about my interaction with this specific location.

2.5 stars, rounded up because the manager is super friendly and helpful…read more Meh. I was excited that this would be as awesome as the Vista location, but sadly, it was not. While it has enough equipment to get in a decent workout, the selection is seriously lacking. This gym doesn't have the showers in the individual restrooms, or the same equipment on the turf (no mirror, no tank, no bumper plates/bar), only has like 1 of each of a few sizes of kettlebell, actually it does not have a good weight selection overall for dumbbells, barbells or bumper plates either. There's 1 plyo box that you can flip around for different heights. Yesterday was my hip thrusting day and I had to drag everything over from one of the squat racks to the turf. Imagine people's disappointment when they approach a squat rack that nobody is using only to learn that the equipment is gone.... At least the power racks are separated here (in Vista they face each other lol). But, the one I used wasn't adjustable and I was in between notches for my squat. Um, there is a mirrored studio for classes here, which would be nice to stretch in. Overall, since my insurance covers all my gym memberships, I will sign up for either 24 Hr Fitness, Crunch, Fitness 19 or the Gold's Gym next time I'm in the area. Pros: - lots of parking - friendly - open 24 hours - a few bands and toys (ab wheel, yoga blocks, etc) - actual individual flat screen tvs on walls for cardio equipment Cons: - meh machines and equipment - not a good weight, plate or kettlebell selection - turf area small, no mirrors there,
