I was hesitant until I asked more and realized it's not an additional cost to be a member, it's just a way to prebook once a month. No gimmick. No catch. Just a 6 month commitment and best part, credit rolls over. Kind of unheard of these days. Additionally Donzell was the best. I knew I was with the right person once he said he worked on football players. I'm very active and always had tight traps. Two sessions in and I'm already feeling a difference (this is with additional work on my own too, stretching, acupuncture). I've gotten massages by a few of their masseurs over the years. Jessie recently left on maternity leave but she was a deep tissue rockstar. Such a gem, I miss her already. I'm currently going to Kaila, and she is probably my favorite massage therapist I've ever had. She's so personable and kind, she really listens to your problems and tailors your massage to exactly how you want it. Beau fully assessed my body and posture and was able to confirm, and better explain, issues I was having, as well as identify some other problem areas I was unaware of. I guess the area of pain isn't always the source! The assessment gives both, you and the staff, the information needed to know what treatments/methods are needed to properly treat you. This place really listens and pays attention to what you and your body need. Fernando is a SAINT and has completely fixed my posture and alleviated so much pain and discomfort. They use a wide range of techniques to get your body back to tip-top shape and give you tips on exercises and stretches to do at home to avoid future misalignment/injury/etc. FHW is the only place that made such an impression I didn't have to think twice to sign up for a membership (which is really more of a once a month commitment with a discount!). I'm recovering from upper back spinal fusion surgery. I've been seeing Heather for the past few months and she is amazing! I love that she uses a variety of techniques and approaches to work on areas that need attention - not just my back. She also has great suggestions for things I can do at home to stimulate healing and work on tight areas. My upper back still hurts from my following a strong PT program and being very active, but after I leave Heather, it feels so relaxed and comfortable. I have spent so much money on physical therapy massage therapy having different types of memberships and although those massages we're good there is nothing that compares to this private owned company. It's super chill. Everybody is so nice. The owner is so sweet. It feels like family honestly and I'm telling you. These therapists are different. They literally heal you on a deeper level. I can feel things structurally moving around and actually my body is like rebalancing itself into the correct position. The membership is an amazing price and these therapists are literal specialists with the human body . This is definitely not a place to come for a relaxing massage, so just know that it won't be a spa vibe or anything like that. The massage room has no ceiling and is open to the lobby, so you will hear the phone ring, conversations, etc. I could hear a conversation between a patient and dr in the room next door. The masseuse I had kept stopping abruptly. At first I thought it was because she was wiping her nose which gave me some worry, so I asked politely if she was sick. She told me that no, she was just taking a break to stretch her neck. I completely understand that massage therapy is a very difficult and taxing profession, but I've never had someone continuously stop to stretch (or at least not in a way that I noticed/impacted the massage). She was very kind but it was the worst massage I've had. Maybe if you come for a particular PT issue, it might be a different story. But it was not the relaxing massage I'd hoped for. read more

Honestly there is not enough great works to describe Beau, he is absolutely amazing! He's been my trainer for the last couple of months now and I have seen the biggest changed in myself than I ever had with any other trainer. Made an appt for an hour massage and manual therapy for help with significant muscle muscle tightness and pain - first time client. Completed the online intake form (which clearly they didn't read) and provided the therapist a description of the problem when I arrived. The service provided was a basic massage without any focus on my areas of pain. In fact if I didn't ask the therapist to change their approach half way through the massage to focus on my pain, the area would never have been addressed. Once I asked there was a half-hearted attempt to massage the area. Given the description of the business on their website I expected a more comprehensive and focused approach and received a very basic massage. If you are looking for a tailored approach to address your pain I'd try somewhere else. read more

My boyfriend went in to see Beau last week for some severe back and leg pain that he was having. He came back home with nothing but good things to say about his experience. Beau worked on his back and also taught him some stretches and movements to do at home. His back isn't completely back to normal but he reports it feeling significantly better. This is way better than a regular massage if you are hurting as it focuses on your areas of pain rather than a relaxing, full body massage. If you live in Village at the Park or anywhere near Southern California - I strongly suggest you check out functional health + wellness! I may sound like an infomercial but I've suffered from lower back pain, daily headaches, and leg pain for 5+ years now. Even though I've consistently worked through it, I deal with a TONNN of pain; probably due to lack of exercising and not eating well. I'm really at the point now where I'd probably pay thousands of dollars to get rid of just some of the pain, but for $65 a visit and just 2 visits in, I'm really starting to feel better already.
