If you have children or grandchildren or are just young at heart, this toy store is where you want…read moreto shop. Not only is it overflowing with all kinds of imaginative and creative toys and games, the staff and owner give the kind of service that box stores and even large department stores just do not give anymore. Run, don't walk to shop here. It is so worth it. My husband and I went in seeking a game that our daughter could not find that is from Denmark that our granddaughter had played and loved. While the store owner did not have it, she happened to be going to Denmark. On her own time, she made a special effort to find it, and bring it back in time for us to get to our granddaughter by Christmas. When you find that kind of dedication to a child's joy, it tells you a lot about what a great place it is to shop.

I used to come here as a child and always loved it. Great selection, kind staff and good prices…read more I live in New York now but whenever I visit my parents in London, Happy Returns is a guaranteed stop for my daughter. She loves everything about the place - great selection of JellyCats, super toddler toys and even some educational gifts for my older niece. Excellent inventory and they are always bringing in new toys, so it never gets old. The current owner Jenny is really wonderful. My daughter was playing with a Peppa Pig backpack but it was a bit too big for her, so Jenny got her a Peppa Pig handbag she wears the whole time now. She's great; really cares about the kids and the parents. I absolutely love Happy Returns!!

Amazing time browsing through this monster sized toy store. The employees were situated in…read moredifferent toy areas providing demonstrations of new featured toys that they are selling. They try to enhance the interative experience while flying small drones with flashing lights over the heads of unexpecting customers, while others laughed. The escalators to each floor were always busy but you can walk up the four floors as an exhausting option - unfortunately we did this once and never again. This place was like a Toys r Us on steroids. Took pictures with an employee dressed up as a princess. Tons of fun for over an hour with a gelato shop if you get hungry. This should have been a paid attraction - just saying.

There are toys for all ages, and as you can imagine, it's quite overwhelming to shop even for me. it is London's premiere toy store. Established in London in 1760 (yup, that's old!) on Regent Street in the West End, Hamleys is very much like the old-time toy stores where workers demonstrated and displayed various toys to customers as part of the overall shopping experience Hamleys is so much more than 'just a shop'. As soon as you walk into the store, you'll be greeted by seven floors of wonder. Everywhere you look, there are toys out for you to try out and watch. You can catch live demos of the most exciting toys and games. There are also regular in-store events where they get superheroes and cartoon characters to greet the kids. There is everything that you imagine in toys and a little more. You can play, you can participate, you can have fun as if you were still a kid; it's a special and perfect place. Since it's almost always raining in the city, this is the perfect place to spend the day.

It has everything and I MEAN EVERYTHING!!! Toys are separated by brand and have huge displays to boot!! Thomas the tank engine and Ben 10 battle for shop floor supremacy. My little one goes absolutely bananas in this shop. Even as an adult, you can get some sort of joy from bringing your child here. I have had a couple of strange episodes in here... 1) The first time, me and another dad happened to wonder into the WWE section and struck up a conversation about Wrestlemania 6 as we shifted through the 'classic' figures in search of Ric Flair. Another customer informed us that a few kids where waiting to have a look for Triple H and Rock dolls.. WHOOPS. I moved on quickly... 2) Last Christmas eve, I was sent out by the wife to pick up a Zingzilla doll. It was 6 in the evening and i was moody to say the least. On entering the premises a couple of 'refreshed' Aussie chaps threw a rugby ball at me. We proceeded to have inproptu game. I was collared by the store manager who informed me whilst laughing his head off "theres kids here, could be a bit dangerous"... I bought the monkey. Outside I tripped on the horrible ice. It was a bad fall. The Aussies who were loitering in the car park helped me up as; and I quote "Yer getting raped by a monkey".. They helped me to a bus stop. My boy never even played with the damn thing after all that. My arm has never been the same since... It has it all. It loses a star as it can be a bit pricey. The staff are clued up and enjoy drunken yobs playing rugby.
