It has a nice big children's playground, but is lacking a water park…read more There is a lot of green space, a performance stage, lots of picnic tables, a very nice creek, and a nice bridge over the creek. As to why it is called "Red Park", the only thing I can think of is that they hold the annual Strawberry Festival there, during the Canada Day long weekend. I was at that festival in 2022. The neighbouring streets were closed each time I've been there, but I've only been there twice, so don't take my work for it. There is no free WiFi. It is not wheelchair accessible. There are no washrooms. There is free neighbourhood street parking and a free parking lot nearby. Review 2023-201

Ah yes. This place…read more To the north, you have three soccer fields, two tennis courts, a playground, a running track, a gazebo, and a water park. The water park is really lackluster, no one uses it. The gazebo is regularly occupied in the morning by Asian grannies doing tai chi. A sight to behold. The south has a baseball field, a larger playground, a skatepark, a basketball court, two more tennis courts, and another soccer field. This half is often bustling with activity, especially in the summer. The place looks right proper and is well-maintained by the staff. The pond is a nice touch that is surrounded by the verdant fields. If you haven't come to this place for a little walk, give it a try. Just look out for the geese.

The entire softball field is circled by a path which is maintained when it snows and acts as a nice path for a tracked stroll. When the diamond isn't being used, the outfield becomes a giant field for catch or kicking a ball around. If softball isn't your thing, there is a basketball court nestled between trees which the city transforms into an artificial skating ink in winter! It was a little too warm on our visit so there was no skating for us. In better weather, the younger kids can enjoy the playground equipment which has slides, monkey bars and several sets of swings. There are a few benches if you need a break and some overhangs to provide shade. There are also trash cans located around each of the points of interest, helping keep the park clean. Note that there is no parking lot for this park. The parking lot that is next to it belongs to the elementary school.

We came here mainly for a walk and managed to finish a section of a trail which spans about 4km both ways. Trail is decent but not as nice as the one in Rouge Valley. Trail is also a bit narrow and not many pretty sights or well maintained grasses along the way. Beach sand has lots of pebbles so not the greatest for barefoot adventures. You do get to approach a long dock with a lighthouse at the end of the path which gives you a nice open view of boats docked and sailed. Overall not much wow factor here asides from a little walk and some lakefront views. Unless you live in the neighborhood not worth the trip.

I can even feel the "ocean" breeze...and there is this sandy beach.... Beachfront Park is a little piece of paradise for everyone and even their dogs in Pickering. Water, Beach, Boardwalk, Kids Playground and Spray Pool, Beach Volleyball Courts... Sunbathing or Chilling Out in the Shade... Have a picnic or enjoy a drink in the nearby restaurants... The boardwalk also leads up to Ontario Power Generation's (OPG) giant wind turbine.. you can think of as an eye sore or the benefit of alternative power....

This is a nice clean park located in Pickering's Frenchman's Bay…read more There's a children's playground to keep kids entertained while you get to scan the horizon or just sit on metal seats to enjoy a coffee. It happened to be quite windy today so I'm not sure if this is a regular occurrence from Lake Ontario out yonder. Still, the view of the setting sun was great.
