I am 68 yrs old now and at 65 when I started MEDICARE I got Silver Sneakers which everywhere but this Y allows free admission to their Y. I was sick and e-mailed I was leaving due to free admission to Y's but here at Fulton. AND looking forward to hot/cold water for shower. The manager at the time struck back and BARRED ME FROM ALL SARATOGA Y'S!!! I e-mailed back and all over in protest as I still and then have no water due to house fire! A little over 2 yrs ago I applied again as I wanted a shower and swimming as I was tired of cleaning up in public bathrooms and my car needed repairs badly. So, 2023 Jan I was allowed at this Y/Fulton for 10$ a month. For 2 yrs I paid even though I had silver sneakers. In Jan 2025 I went to Wilton Y as I finally got a new vehicle and was denied entry due to Fulton County Y! I went to Fulton County Y and spoke to front desk where I was told had no membership anymore due to scholarship had to be re-newed yearly with new management. So, even though I had scholarship for 2 years there I was still banned from all Saratoga Y's! WAIT A MINUTE IF I AM SUCH A BAD PERSON WHY DID I HAVE MEMBERSHIP AT FULTON COUNTY Y FOR YRS AFTER THE E-MAILS? AND THAT MANAGER IS LONG GONE??? I still have no shower and have to figure out how to exercise and clean up without a Y? SILVER SNEAKERS IS NOT A Y MEMBERSHIP, IT IS A SENIOR MEDICARE OPTION WITH SOME Y'S. THIS IS INJUSTICE FOR A SENIOR CITIZEN NOT TO BE OFFERED A Y IN THE SARATOGA REGION, after 2 yrs scholarship after the incident of e-mails. The fulton county Y has been deteriorating for years now, but unfortunately has gotten extremely worse within the last year. New management is horrible and is running the place to the ground. Staff turnover is awful, employees are always unhappy, it's just a mess. Pool is never open, hot tub is always closed 99.8% of the time, equipment is always dirty and broken. Sad, poor excuse for a YMCA. It used to be one of the best places for kids and adults. but not anymore. read more

Just paid sign up fee and monthly fee. ($160) and after I pay, they tell me that the kids can't swim until 11:00, they are suppose to be open until 9:00pm on weekends, but because they are short staffed, they close at 3:00. (We can only go on the weekends) The last few times I went, the sauna was broken. or the Hot tub was broken. My daughter left some items in the locker room. Instead of saving, they threw them out! The women at the front desk are very rude. I have an African American woman that lives with me, (we are Caucasian) and is part of our family plan. Today we all scanned our ids (that took 3 weeks to get because their machine was broken) - And the woman at the desk demanded to look at each one, stating that the scanner was broken. But While she was being rude and demanded, 3 white men scanned their ids and walked right through. She said nothing. I also dont like that they won't allow kids to go into the womens locker room, and the adults can only go into the kids locker room if the kids are "very young." My daughter is 11. She is uncomfortable being "alone." It should be a personal choice. Not a mandatory rule! In short, I am very disappointed with this place. We were members at the YMCA before we moved to this area. We never had these problems before. I dont think that I will be renewing my membership next month. And I'm going to demand my sign up fee back. read more

This YMCA is a collaboration of the Gloversville and Johnstown YMCA's. It is large, very clean, has many many classes, a large pool, sauna, steam room, whirl pool, weight room, spinning room, and more. read more

I read a post on facebook about this place today where a woman was involved in a car accident and ended up being a haf an hour to 40 mins late picking up her son. Instead of going to the hospital to get checked out, she picked up her son 1st, and was treated terribly by one of the pre school staff. She was rudely interrupted in the middle of her appology and told several times that she is not to be late picking up her son (it was 30-20 mins to 1 in the afternoon, like come on...) and everytime she tried to explain about the car wreck the rude woman wouldn't hear it. Very mean, unnecessary and unprofessional and VERY VERY inappropriate. The other women in the classroom are apparently very nice, professional and sweet, so this woman with dark hair, bangs and glasses has now made them all look bad, which is such a shame. It also upsets everyone on facebook that this place actually has a woman like that looking after young children. I have shared the facebook post along with plenty of other people and i hope this makes parents think twice before bringing their children to a disrespectful place like this. Very very disappointed to hear about this coming from a place my family and I always enjoyed spending time together, but now after this we will no longer be coming to this place again. That woman deserves a serious appology, especially considering she pays them for her child to go to preschool, to be treated like that.... Very very sad and disrespectful. read more

I haven't signed up in the past 2 years because of the sign up fee...in 3 years when I'm 62...Ill sign up . So you lost 5 years of membership fees $2,700 for $50. Smart move. read more
