I went to this library for early voting and was very surprised and immediately impressed with the modern design of the building, it's beautiful. When you walk into the building you see so much natural light from the floor to ceiling windows which is very unique for a library. I forgot my sample ballot so I asked the librarian for assistance and was immediately directed to the right area. In the entry way upon entering you also have the opportunity to view art. It's part of a public art project. You have access to a large meeting room area, study rooms, a music room and separate spaces for teens and for children.

    Welcome to Wolf Creek

Being the book lover that I am, I just had to stop in and check out this new branch of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library. At the risk of letting my geek flag fly, I'll gush and say that I've never been more impressed by an Atlanta library. Ever. The building is contemporary modern with an asymmetrical roofline. For some unknown reason they decided to color it a coppery, prescription bottle orange. I couldn't help but scratch my head and wonder how that decision making process went down. It's certainly different but it's too DeLorean for my tastes. At least my first impression of the exterior is the worst thing I can say about my visit. Through the glass front door was a lobby area. On the left side of the space were restrooms and the Friends of the Library Bookstore; to the right was a café featuring vending machines, tables and chairs. I had to walk through a second set of glass doors to enter the library itself. Immediately I was struck by the openness the high ceilings and wall of windows created. Then I noticed a gorgeous, eye-catching metal art piece in the rear of the library. It was a majestic tree of tendrils decorated with whimsical multi-colored prisms. The base of the tree expanded to colorful bench seating that looked too pretty to sit on. A lake behind the library created an atmosphere of serenity. I spent time taking in the view before I went off in search of books. I expected there to be some new books at a new branch but I didn't expect for them ALL to be new. There was not one musty or dog-eared book to be found; just brand new books (new titles and new editions of older works). Each time I cracked open a book I caught a whiff of new book smell...pure bliss. It might as well have been a bookstore. Pleather club chairs dotted the landscape and along the perimeter of the library were study rooms and meetings spaces. There were a generous number of computers for internet use along with special terminals for searching the library catalog. Towards the circulation desk were two self-checkout kiosks unlike any I'd seen before at other branches. Instead of scanning each book's barcode sticker one by one, the machine could scan an entire stack of books at once. I watched a lady place about 8-10 children's books on the platform and scan them. When the librarian saw the look of wonder on my face she told me that it read sensors hidden within the spines of the books. It could even accept cash and credit card payments for library fines. Genius. As the previous reviewer noted there was a lot of empty space on the shelves. However, I suspect the librarians are taking their time to amass their collection. I'll take a small selection of top rated, brand new books any day over a wider selection of a lesser quality. After all, if another branch has the book you want you can just get it transferred to the branch. If today's visit is any indication the Wolf Creek Branch will be a favorite destination of mine for many years to come.

I love this library! It really is a hidden gem! The staff is always friendly. It gets a little busy on the weekend, but I've always had access to a study room. I've come to this location for a few community events. The community meeting room is large and has audiovisual components. My guess is that approximately 150 people can fit using a theater style seating arrangement; however I would check with the library to verify this information. There are always events going on here. This location also has a children and teen section.

In the fall partial lake view!

Best library for a homeschooling moms like me and my friends. We visit everyday of the week. The children selection is vast and organized and very clean as a library should be. The adult selection of books is well laid out and the selection is vast and exceptionally organized. The staff are excellent everyone knows us by name...Lol! They even tell me to take a break or I'll over work my self. We've been coming since the build of 2014!! I take pictures with my children and the homeschooling group near the little lake in the back it's a gorgeous scenery. And we absolutely love it. The trail is a bonus for us, as we like to ride our bikes or hike the trails everyday. Nice little cafeteria and a nice medium size outdoor area to read or eat. We simply adore this library and the ALL the staff . Best library in Atlanta!

This is my first time here so I can't say I can give a well-rounded review. Recently opened, clean, nice employees. I like the conference rooms. I love the large windows. Lots of natural light. Almost makes me want to come here during a storm to watch. The only downside as of now is that it doesn't have a large selection of books.

One of the best knowledge depositories, in Atlanta.

Parking is scarce but this is midtown Atlanta and we need to stop expecting parking everywhere we go anyway! Walk, bike or use MARTA to live the real ATL life. They mostly happen Monday and Wednesday from 1030-11am but be sure to check online for ransoms date cancellations. As mentioned above parking is tight and becalmed even more impossible when it's toddle time.

There are a few parking spots around the back for those that travel from far away. There are weekly adult and kid activities that take place in their meeting room. The best part of this library is the weekly baby and toddler time with Mr. Ken! He reads stories, sings nursery rhymes, and plays musical toys with the babies. You can tell he really loves his job by the way he interacts with the kids. He even remember names. We are very lucky to have this program and Mr. Ken in the neighborhood. My daughter looks forward to going every week. I have seen the class grow almost double in size since last year.

Such a beautiful little library!…read more Ever since I was little my dad instilled a love of libraries and books in me. Buying books is amazing, but supporting our local library system is even better. And lucky for all of us here in Atlanta, we have some fantastic libraries to choose from, no matter where you are across our counties. This local library is in East Atlanta and offers only a bit of parking, but there's never truly a struggle to find a spot. It's a small, but mighty location and offers a wide range of media options to choose from. There are 2 rooms that you can use for meetings/studying, a line of computers and multiple places to sit and read your books when you're visiting. It was so quiet, comfortable and chill in there, an easy place to get lost within the books and your imagination! I loved that there was a large children's area, full of books for the little ones and space for them to roam about. I'm aging myself because I was blown away by the self-checkout machines, lol. My last city library didn't have that and it was great to see them equipped with that new technology. It was hiccuping a bit when I was ready to checkout so I opted to go the old-fashioned route, but minutes later it was back up again. My only constructive criticism is wishing that there was an 24/7 dropbox. (Unless I'm missing it!) This is a lovely branch that really showcases how amazing the library system is here in Atlanta!

Clearly, I was not homeless, and they could have asked to see my library card, AND you can't enforce a made-up rule. The Mayor needs to fire them to see how they like being homeless! Can you say LAWSUIT!

So it runs on it's own system but seemingly no different than any other library. There's a large parking lot so scrambling for a space to park isn't a battle you have to fight when visiting. When I drove up, I was blow away by. the beauty of the building exterior, such a pretty place! I visited with my son and was also so appreciative of the accessibility since we were navigating a stroller. It was so quiet and peaceful when we walked in. There were a few patrons downstairs but you never would have known it, you could hear a pin drop. I was greeted and helped by a young lady who gave me all the in's and out's. I live right on the edge of the perimeter so I just lucked out and snagged a library card. After getting our card, my son and I just strolled around the library checking out the offerings. The children's section is so cute and filled with books, colorful furniture and space to enjoy some reading and play time. There was even a clear distinction between the section for the little littles and kids, loved it. I was also so surprised to see items available for rent such as baking supplies - how cool. As a child of a teacher who has always prioritized education and reading, I'm so grateful for libraries. Get yourself a library card today!

Today, I arrived at 4:30pm and was asked to leave right after 7pm, and I'm literally looking at five other people all sitting at desks, and the second study room is vacant! It seems idiotic that if there isn't anyone vying for the study rooms LESS THAN AN HOUR until closing that someone should be asked to leave. So basically, what I just had to do is end my Zoom meeting, collect all of my belongings just to sit out next to the other patrons, all while staring at what are now TWO vacant study rooms! What harm am I doing to the day to day operations, especially when it took THIRTY MINUTES to do their rounds??? The last time I visited, I was told that my video could be heard on the first floor, which was impossible, because I have enough sense to monitor my volume, even with a closed door. At this point, I'm starting to think that it's personal since I come often if I'm in the area. So with that, I will resume my patronage at Switzer, where they understand this logic, and I won't be visiting ever again.
