So as other reviews mention the security was half the time I spent in the building, they are incredibly slow! Not exactly sure of my wait time but it was quicker than I expected based on the crowd in there

Taking the elevator to the twenty eighth floor we stepped inside security asked what was the purpose for a visit which we advised. The sedentary woman rudely replied we have to make an appt 3x without even hearing our questions. Sad to say, but in a crisis, she would certainly *not* be able to defend our protect. We stepped aside to check details before leaving. While she further yelled "Hey", I politely ignored the power trip she was on because 1) it's Ma'am if you don't know my name and 2) You WILL put respect on my veteran status!! Advisory: The Id.me site is not functioning properly, for primary/secondary doc submissions. You will fare better to arrange your appt thru the 1-800 # provided on the flyer. Also, the parking lot is tight. So be aware of spacing

Fast, courteous and painless…read more We all expect long delays dealing with any level of government. I can't tell y'all how pleased I was with the service at the Fulton County licensing office. We were in an out in 45 minutes. First the spoiler: my sweetie and I are getting married! We filled out the marriage license application in advance, printed it and brought it with us. You can make an appointment, but t=none available so we just just turned up. We found street parking about a block away. Security protocols were efficient. We waited about 15 minutes and everything was done in maybe 15 minutes. Kudos to Ms. Mathis, the customer service representative, and the cashier, Mr. Rosser. Both were super efficient, courteous and very nice. And both congratulated us. We left with the marriage license for the judge who will officiate at our wedding. She signs it after the ceremony and mails it to the Fulton County License Office. They then record the marriage and send us the signed, sealed marriage certificate. So here's the weird, only-in-Georgia part of the experience. You apply for marriage licenses and permits to carry a concealed weapon at the same office. I guess you could even apply for both at the same time -- if you were so inclined.

I'm torn when it comes to PARKatlanta. On one hand, I understand it's their job to find and ticket…read moreillegally parked vehicles of any kind, and on the other, I feel as if all of their little white vehicles driving around are my mortal enemy and the absolute enemy of joy. My first experience with the less-than-happy-to-be-alive PARKatlanta staff was in L5P. I was walking up to my car in front of Outback Bikes. I was literally 15 feet away from the machine and the woman was already typing up the ticket... 1 minute before my time was up. I had my credit card in-hand, but she was adamant about giving me this ticket. Her words -- "I've already run the ticket. If you want, you can take this down to City Hall to dispute it." Unreal. The other side of this crappy situation was the visible vandalization of the pay machine in L5P. Glue in the coin slots and credit card slots, graffiti all over, cracked screen.... a real looker. I asked the woman who was in charge of keeping these in check and free of ware, etc. Her answer -- "Well, I don't know." The day just got better. Despite my less-than-desirable experience with my first ticket, I am happy to see PARKatlanta taking care of other drivers mal-executed parking jobs. Some people decide to do things with their vehicles.... just ridiculous. Down those who drive and park like jerks. For that, I'm thankful for this service. I think I'll end with this -- My favorite bumper sticker I've seen in Atlanta reads "Nobody Likes PARK Atlanta."

Beware of the private parking lots in Midtown/Downtown Atlanta, specifically Lot 85 at 1374 West…read morePeachtree Street, which is currently managed by the predatory company ParKontrol / ParkPaymentHub. Their business model is pure extortion. I legally purchased a 9-hour parking session through ParkMobile, paying $20.45 well before any ticket was issued. However, I made a minor typo by transposing two letters on my license plate entry. Despite providing undeniable, time-stamped proof of payment showing zero intent to evade the fee, ParKontrol's "dispute committee" denied my appeal. They weaponized a simple human typo to claim my vehicle was a "security threat" and inflated the penalty to a shocking $194.00, threatening to ruin my credit score via debt collection agencies if I didn't comply. I ended up paying the $194.00 strictly to protect my peace of mind and credit report from their aggressive, shady tactics. They suffer no financial loss from a typo, yet they shamelessly fleece paying citizens. Atlanta drivers, avoid Lot 85 and any lot managed by ParKontrol or ParkPaymentHub at all costs. They are absolute scammers running a predatory scheme!

As a North Carolina resident, it was awesome to be able to zip in and out of the Peach Pass lanes…read moreon I-85 this weekend. Yes, it's a little spendy but it makes such a huge difference to not have to deal with the cars zipping around me (overpassing *and* underpassing) in the right lanes. Jeez, you Atlanta drivers are nuts. Yesterday, my friend and I drove up to Helen taking the Peach Pass lane as far up to the I-985 split. She drives faster than me and we're in the Peach Pass lanes. So I have a note for those of you who want to tailgate: The Peach Pass lane is not a "super passing lane." You don't need to tailgate us when we're already going 75 because you want to go 90. That's not what this lane is for. And for the dude in the red Mustang that crossed the double white lines to get out of traffic? The system knows. Expect a ticket in the mail. Easy to drive, nice to not have to deal with the riff raff crazies but it would be better if people weren't all trying to drive so fast that they're warping the space-time continuum. I hate to say it, but the Georgia State Patrol could ring up some megabucks out there catching these speeders. [Review 15933 overall - 434 in Georgia - 1438 of 2021.]

It stated I needed to pay $50.00. I was suspicious that this was a phishing attempt. I went to the website and saw the same message, so I paid the $50.00, as it would not let me pay a lower amount. Feature, or glitch? As little as we use the Peach Pass, it will be years before we use this up. I had issues with the transaction. I was logged out of the site, then I couldn't log back in. I tried calling... no one answered, of course. Today, I was able to log back in, only to find the SOBs charged me TWICE. To tell you the truth, the extra $50.00 isn't worth it to deal with these slow leaks. Ridiculous, as most government business is. They bid out their web designs to the lowest bidder, who is ALWAYS a sub-standard vendor. Then, if you have to call them, 50% of the time, you get a curt employee. But hey, it's GUBMINT! They don't have to answer to anyone, and have no competition, which is why they suck so badly. Any non-gubmint business that operated like this would be out of business. Fast.

Thanks to the state of Georgia for allowing anyone aged 16 or older to get the COVID-19 vaccine…read morebeginning March 25, 2021. I believe Georgia was one of the first states to allow any adult to get the vaccine. Other states, like nearby Tennessee and North Carolina, allowed the vaccine to be given to all adults beginning April 5 and April 7, respectively. The Georgia Department of Public Health ("Georgia Health Department") in conjunction with the Georgia Security Management and Homeland Security Agency ("GEMA/HS") and other entities, like the City of Atlanta and the Fulton County Board of Health, has an online scheduling system and mass vaccination sites set up. For more info, visit the Georgia Health Department's COVID-19 vaccine site at https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-vaccine. For a direct link to the Health Department's vaccine scheduler, visit https://gta-vras.powerappsportals.us/. Using the vaccine scheduler above on April 4, I was easily able to book an appointment for my first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Community Vaccination Center ("MBSCVC" mass vaccination site) on April 7 (two days ago). As a sports fan, I thought it was cool and a lot of fun to get vaccinated at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It felt like going to a game. When I checked the Health Department's scheduler on March 25, no appointments were available for me at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. When I checked again on April 4 (10 days later), there were plenty of appointment times for me to choose from beginning on April 7, three days out. I suspect it's now easy for anyone 16 or older to get vaccinated at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I didn't check the scheduler for appointments between March 25 and April 4, but I did receive emails on March 29 and April 1 from the Georgia Department of Public Health Vaccine Registration and Administration System ("VRAS") to book an appointment, so maybe slots were available for me earlier. Thanks to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for being a mass vaccination site. It's the largest vaccination location in the Southeast: https://twitter.com/AFCEMA/status/1379437806695686147. Parking is free in the Silver Deck, adjacent to the stadium. Navigate to 1414 Andrew Young International Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30313 to get there. After you park, exit at the top of the deck (Level 6). Enter the stadium via Gate 2. Signs and staff will direct you every step of the way. The whole process was very efficient, from parking to leaving. Because of how busy it was the night I went, the Silver Deck was full and officers were directing vehicles to the Orange Deck nearby. The Orange Deck is also adjacent to the stadium and conveniently close to Gate 2. I showed up on-time for my 7:30pm Wednesday appointment time. I had to show the appointment time on my phone in order to enter the stadium. It appeared everyone entering the stadium at the same time as me was assigned to "Division D: Purple." We were given purple bracelets which allowed us access to that area of the stadium. When I arrived to the Purple area, I was given a COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card which I filled out myself. I didn't have to show the QR code on my phone or show my photo ID. In fact, I was never asked to show an ID or insurance card at any point during my visit. This Mercedes-Benz Stadium Community Vaccination Center is truly a free-to-the-public mass vaccination site. And a very well-run operation at that. It's a collaboration between many entities: local, state, and federal. After writing my name and birthdate on my COVID vaccine card, I was given a number and waited in a masked, socially-distant waiting area. They called batches of numbers in ascending order which was nice because everyone knew when their number was about to be called. Numbers were constantly being called and things moved at a brisk pace in general. Like I said, a well-run operation. In the vaccine area, they had US Army preparing and administering the vaccines. The guy who administered my vaccine did it super fast. Check out the video I posted to this page to see how fast he did it. The vaccine area is when they actually scanned the QR code I received via email. That scan triggered another email to be sent to me which enabled me to schedule my second dose. They thought this whole thing through every step of the way. As a Georgia Tech industrial engineering grad, I applaud the efficiency. Everything was streamlined. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on April 2, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Community Vaccination Center is "open most days and as late as 10pm two nights a week, likely Mondays and Wednesdays." Those days include weekends. Staff is working "to administer 42,000 shots a week" and "officials hope to vaccinate 210,000 people during the expanded operation period, which is scheduled to conclude on May 19."
