If you're going to commit low-risk traffic violations, I'd highly suggest doing so in the City of…read moreDecatur. Every step of the way, the folks at the DPD went the extra mile to enforce the rule of law in the most wickedly awesome way. Step 1: Officer Gresham kindly highlighted my upcoming court date on each of the violations he doled out, and when my stack of citations proved too thick to staple he provided me with a paper clip form his personal stash. Step 2: Following my absence from court, two officers personally attempted to deliver my summons. After they never found me, the friendly folks at the DPD made sure that they contacted me via telephone to alert me about the outstanding warrant. Step 3: The idea of surrendering myself to the police no longer makes me cringe. Honestly, the hours I spent behind closed doors at 420 West Trinity Place are some of the best I've ever had in the hands of law enforcement. From the first puzzling moments after I sat in a small room wondering, "Am I in jail?" to the rush of relief I felt upon my release, my personal drama was replete with suspense and, ultimately, vindication. Step 4: I consider my $675 expense a donation to the Keep Decatur Law Enforcement Awesome fund. The next time I think about committing license plate-related misdemeanors, the chance to repeat steps 1-3 might just be enough reason to proceed.

Cops were nice as I didn't have to call an Uber to find a ride to a bed, a little on the pricey side for everything but ehh what do you expect for an escort to their place, a ride and a nice photoshoot? Only reason why it's a 4 star review than a 5 star is O wish the bed was a tad bit more comfortable, honestly never heard of TempurPedic or Sleep Number??

You are very unlucky when your car gets hit by another driver in Sandy Springs…read more It happened to my daughter in my car. It was a hit-and-run. She called 911. An officer from the SSPD came and checked her ID, her tag, and the damage to her car. But when trying to download her report, she noticed that her 911 call was connected to another crash report that did not have her name on it. After talking with an extremely rude civilian working for the records department of the SSPD, we were transferred to dispatch and given the necessary information to contact the responding officer to request a police report that included her name - but he refused to provide one. Is that even legal? The police department has clear evidence of her 911 call but refuses to write a report on the follow-up. I hope this situation gets fixed soon since we need the report for our insurance.

I walk out to my car at my boyfriend's condo complex and...oh wow someone has decided to completely destroy half of the left side of my car with their own. First bonus: you want to call the cops for anything while in Sandy Springs? Just dial 911. It feels weird to be like "no actually it's not an emergency but I did call you earlier!" ...I did in fact call the regular non-emergency number and was told I had to dial 911. Fine. So..first time. Within 10 minutes of giving all sorts of info to the operator, an officer came. He was incredibly nice, and even hung around for a good 20 minutes to do his paperwork to see if this lady would return, since she didn't leave a note it is considered a hit and run. Finally a good 8 1/2 hours later, she does in fact return..and badly park in the same parking space. Within 30 minutes I had checked out the car, called back, talked to an officer, and was back inside all warm, and finally relaxed since all the next steps have been thoroughly explained to me. Actually, second officer, Officer Hancock, explained things even more thoroughly and he was pretty amusing. He also really likes to tell it how it is so.. watch out drunks (as if that's surprising if you've ever driven down Roswell Road on a weekend night). Pretty sure the lady parked there is not a drunk but man did he have a mini rant on that bit. But yeah...that explaining thing makes a world of difference, TAKE NOTE APD. So boyfriend, your address may end in Atlanta, GA, but when I dial 911, Sandy Springs shows up and I like it very much. #Yelp365 - 32/365

A Big Thank You to the Roswell Police Department…read more I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to the Roswell Police Department for their exceptional service. I've been living…read morein Roswell for over 5 years and the way they treat colored people is really a disgrace to their badge and oath that they've "sworn" to protect and serve.. not to "Harass and be racist". I was pulled over driving back from the fast station near my neighborhood. The police had no issue when I passed them on my way to the gas station.. only when I stepped outside the gas station and sat back in the car and began to drive they immediately pull me over. Of course the police were going to overreact as they always do when pulling a colored person over by bringing in 2 additional cars said they pulled me over for the tint but then asked me to get out of car due to smell of marijuana. I told them not true and they continued to search my car.. only after 30 minutes with no result they pulled off and saying have a nice day. I'm sure if my name was Adam or Henry, they would've not cared because I'm a colored person they immediately thought I was a drug dealer. It's a shame in 2023 police officers cry about how they want to build a relationship with their community but honestly they can careless and continue to harass people who do not look like them! I don't encourage anyone to live in Roswell that is a person of color due to the high stereotype profiling and racist officers that honestly need to be off the street. Save yourself time and money by loving in another community where they cherish all races not just there's thinking they're the only superior race that belongs here.
