I have no contact number or email for anyone. Yet all I want to do is amend the report. There must be a better system to this.

If you need a copy of a police report, your criminal record or have always wanted a Cobb County Police mousepad, t-shirt or blanket, this is the place. The ladies behind the glass do not smile. I tried to make a joke by asking if the t-shirts came with handcuffs and I got the same stone face stare I received when I asked how her day was. You'll wait 20 minutes for the smallest request but it is what it is. Thankfully, they have little glass cases of police memorabilia to look at while you wait to be acknowledged by smiley behind the counter.

Though, lately it seems either I've been doing something wrong or I found all of the disgruntled and uneducated workers (maybe it's both). They're now working in the new annex building. They built the building and slapped the address on the front in big letters, but no one bothered to make sure it was in Google Maps or in GPS services. Since they don't provide maps either, here's a breakdown of the directions: * From I-285 Take exit 12 for Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy and then go west (away from Atlanta). * Cross Fulton Industrial Blvd. and then go through another traffic light. * Pass the torn down housing projects. * The Atlanta Public Safety Annex is immediately on the right after the last standing building at the abandoned projects. Once you've made it, you need to figure out if the department you need has working computers (last week the ladies in the office downstairs put signs up saying their computers were down). I made my way upstairs to Criminal Records/Expungements and proceeded to take a number to wait (just like at the deli). Fortunately, there are some magazines on a stand in the waiting area, so I picked one up to read. After opening a few pages I promptly returned that sticky copy of Atlanta Magazine from 2008 and then sat down trying not to look bored or annoyed. My number was called and I needed a printout of my GBI report ($10). I was also turning in paperwork to have a few things expunged ($50). That's when the problems started. Miss Lady said I needed to go to the court and get a copy of the official discharge in order for them to process it. That's incorrect and actually printed on the GBI form I completed. According to Miss Lady she needs a letter from the court in order to tell her the same thing. Obviously, she just doesn't know she can use the GBI report as long as the charges all appear. In my most calm/direct voice I held the paper up to the glass window and tried to explain what they needed to do. That's when the uniformed police officers started arriving. One of them used my same calm/direct tone and said "Sir. Miss Turner is the supervisor and I suggest you listen to what she's trying to tell you." It was obvious that neither of us were interested in listening to what the other had to say, so I packed up my papers and left. Now I've got to go get this stupid piece of paper that isn't even needed and bring it back up here. That will be my 3rd Foursquare check-in here and when I become Mayor it won't be a celebration. It's a shame that I have to come up here 3 times just to get something done.

My daughters car was parked in a parking lot after the accident. My daughter told the office that she had AAA towing. The officer insisted that she use American Towing, Inc. This company is now charging us $255 to get her car back. In addition, they will charge you $20 per day for ever day that they keep your car. This is one way that the City of Roswell is scamming its residents out of money. Carrie at American Towing said that they are contracted with the Roswell Police Department. She said that they arrive quickly and get the cars out of traffic. My daughter's car was not blocking traffic. It was parked in a parking lot. There was no reason that she could not have waited for AAA to arrive and tow the car to an auto body shop for free. The officer insisted that my daughter user American Towing so that they could charge us $255. I am furious!

This omission was significant, as I informed the officer of her name and age at the scene. Because I am currently pursuing a legal claim, my attorney requested a corrected report reflecting accurate occupant information. After reviewing the report, I requested corrections and re-provided my daughter's information to the Lieutenant and was advised to allow three days for the update. However, I was later informed the Lieutenant had gone on vacation, and despite leaving multiple voicemails, I did not receive a return call. When I contacted the Records Department, I was advised that the report had been corrected and that I could pick up a revised copy. However, the amended report still contained errors, including my daughter's incorrect age and the omission of her gender. I returned to the Records Department for clarification and was advised that I would need to follow up again with the Lieutenant. I left another voicemail but did not receive a response or confirmation that my request had been completed. As a result, I made two in-person visits to the Records Division in an effort to have the report properly corrected. Due to work obligations, I was unable to continue visiting in person, so my mother retrieved the report on my behalf (a third visit). Unfortunately, upon review, the necessary corrections still had not been fully made. I then contacted the Records Supervisor to explain the ongoing issue. During that call, the Records Supervisor's tone was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I felt that I was being spoken to in a condescending manner and not given the opportunity to fully explain the discrepancy I was seeing in the report. At one point, I was essentially told that I was not correctly understanding what I was looking at, despite the fact that the document in my possession still contained errors. It is possible that the wrong version of the corrected report had been printed or provided. I attempted to clarify the remaining errors and offered to provide documentation for reference; however, this was declined. I was told a corrected copy would be emailed to me. Although I ultimately received a corrected report, the process required multiple visits, repeated follow-up, and significant time and effort that could have been avoided with more thorough attention to detail and improved communication. My concern is not that an initial error occurred, as mistakes can happen, but rather the repeated failure to ensure the report was fully and accurately corrected, as well as the manner in which my concerns were handled. I did not feel I was given the opportunity to fully explain the issue before being interrupted and redirected. As a member of the public, I believe citizens should be able to raise concerns and seek clarification without being dismissed or spoken to in a disrespectful manner during communication. This experience created unnecessary frustration during an already stressful process involving an accident and an active legal matter. I hope this review will reinforce the importance of accuracy, accountability, and professionalism in public service interactions.

Chamblee Police Dept Record Division changed my mind on this matter. I needed to go in to get a new bartending permit. Setting an appointment (phone call only) was relatively easy and they were very clear about what I needed to apply, as well as the cost. I arrived the next day to a clean and easily navigable facility. I believe this location is only a few years old, but the grounds are manicured and clearly maintained. There's even an attached park, outdoor workout area and a small track that is open to the public. The permit application was super easy. Staff were friendly. All necessary components for my application were highlighted and the paperwork was easy to get through. I'd say this process took me 20 minutes, tops. Next steps post-application were printed out and easy to follow. I was very pleased. My only point of frustration is that the city website is hard to navigate and outdated with prices/procedures that are not accurate to date. But honestly it really didn't interfere with much.

we bought a side by side from a private seller only to find out after it was registered the…read moreoriginal seller reported it stolen months after we bought it. we bought in dec '25, registered it like good citizens and it reported stolen in feb '26. we were pulled over and the officers took it from our trailer. our attorney sent letters to the chief and to their attorney requesting a hearing (per the law) and we have not heard back from them. essentially they stole from us and couldn't live up to the law. disappointing and so unprofessional. so glad i do not live in their jurisdiction.
