My biggest complaint about this location is it is incredibly drab, little color or decor. Anytime I go I grab what I need & leave, it's not a place to hang out & read or just enjoy being there. Where we're from all of the local libraries, even the tiniest ones are community hubs- very welcoming, inviting with nice whimsical touches that draw you in, & lots of different community events for all ages going on. Not sure if it's lack of funding or the Atlanta area has so many paid attractions that they don't invest in their important local resources which is disappointing.

There are many events hosted here so check the schedule that's usually posted in the front. Those events are mostly catered to kids so I'm sure families will find them fun. Holds are kept on the far left as you enter the library. The kid's section is on the far right. There are at least three help desks staffed with helpful caring staff. They make this library very welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Computers are available in the middle of the library. Parking is easy and spacious.

There is a downstairs, but I didn't get to scope it out. An old man kept staring at me. And a woman's phone kept going off. The Brookhaven Library is located next to my dentist, so I stopped in on my way out. This location is tiny! It's almost tiny enough to be cute, but seems to lack the resources that larger branches have. The parking is pretty inconvenient since, well, it's so small. And the one way parking lot makes in annoying to have to enter and exit the corner lot, especially if there's traffic. I felt a little uncomfortable with the few homeless people loitering outside. But maybe that's just my own problem. The struggle of being close to a Marta station, maybe? Speaking of which, this location is a brief walk from the Brookhaven Marta Station. If I ever see a book or movie that I want from Brookhaven, I may just request it online to be shipped to Dunwoody so I can avoid this library in the future.

Chamblee Police Dept Record Division changed my mind on this matter. I needed to go in to get a new bartending permit. Setting an appointment (phone call only) was relatively easy and they were very clear about what I needed to apply, as well as the cost. I arrived the next day to a clean and easily navigable facility. I believe this location is only a few years old, but the grounds are manicured and clearly maintained. There's even an attached park, outdoor workout area and a small track that is open to the public. The permit application was super easy. Staff were friendly. All necessary components for my application were highlighted and the paperwork was easy to get through. I'd say this process took me 20 minutes, tops. Next steps post-application were printed out and easy to follow. I was very pleased. My only point of frustration is that the city website is hard to navigate and outdated with prices/procedures that are not accurate to date. But honestly it really didn't interfere with much.

We head back to the parking lot afterward to find my friend's brand new Audi SUV was broken into and his laptop case with 2 laptops in it missing. The police came out within minutes after the call ran prints on the car and were super courteous. Will upgrade to 5 stars if they can find the culprit...
