Additionally, be cautious that they may damage your property and subsequently hold you responsible for the incident. Their moving truck left an oil stain on our driveway, and they are claiming that due to the delay in paying our bill (as we were disputing the charges, but we promptly informed them of the stain the very next day), the stain set in. Despite their efforts, the stain remains, and it is not our fault. You sent a damaged vehicle to our property, causing the damage. This is a lesson learned, never again.

I knew my move would maybe take an hour or less so I he negotiated the price to $150. I texted and listed my main items that would need carried. He said it was fine. On moving day they show up, they have no tools to remove a mirror form my dresser. He said "I didn't think i would be taking anything a part" which I thought would be included in moving furniture. They moved the big furniture Items. I was trying to wrap my mirror and they ignored my request and I had to go take it out of the POD myself. I bought, wrapped and boxed all my own items. They scratched up my brand new furniture. And did not cover the pieces with the blankets I provided. After they moved the big items I asked them to move just the 5-6 boxes and my small vanity. Kevin (the owner) unprofessionally called me cover and said he was going to show me my text. I said okay. I knew what we agree on but I knew where he was going. He completely made me feel terrible, he said I was taking advantage of him because they had to move 6 extra boxes. I said for 3 hours he told me $250. They moved all my stuff , just literally had to carry it. Not pack it or anything and it only took them 35 minutes for $150. He said I took advantage. I honestly did not think a few extra boxes would be a problem for 30 minutes of work and then not having to actually pack or wrap anything. I wish I could have saved myself the $150, scratches on my furniture and being talked to like garage and moved it all myself. I feel Kevin could have approached the situation in a more professional manner if he felt what we agreed on was not what they were moving before they moved it. We had a big house in California so we had three big storage units filled to the ceilings as we waited for our house to be built. After a year of living in a small apartment, we finally were able to close on our house...but who to call in a town where we knew NO ONE...? Thankfully, our daughter had moved from California also and her cross-country mover used SET-THE-TREND MOVING & STORAGE at this end of the journey. She said they had been very good and gave us their number and the rest, as they say, is history! Cliff came out and gave us a very reasonable estimate (and stayed true to it) considering the logistics of what we were needing him to do. He also worked out the logistics since not only were we moving from the storage units and the apartment were were needed to end up with just one small storage unit so it necessitated moving between storage units. We were also transporting a few big items between our house and our daughter's home. Cliff worked it out and came up with three days for the entire move; he was right on the time! Cliff and his cadre of very strong men made quick work of emptying our three huge storage units, one two bedroom apartment and moving the items we were sending over to our daughter's home. Logistically, it could have been a nightmare. However, due to Cliff's analytical mind, it was a three day affair that went so smoothly and quickly I couldn't believe it; it just seemed to be too easy. However, that's the beauty of Cliff's leadership and his men's work ethic. They absolutely killed it! We couldn't have been more pleased with how the move went. Everyone was so kind and gentlemanly from introducing themselves to us as they came in the house to Cliff's amazing advice on where he thought a piece of furniture might work better...he was spot on and I so appreciated his help. I told him he was a better decorator than I was! I confess this move was overwhelming to me; prior to our move to Georgia we had been in the same home for almost 45 years. Cliff and the guys were so good at what they do, they kept me calm. They were always on-time, took reasonable lunches and moved quickly. My hubby and I are both disabled and if any of the guys caught us moving anything, they were quick to insist on doing it for us. We were SO impressed! By the end of the move, we felt as if we were saying good-bye to wonderful friends for that is how we view them now. Folks, you won't go wrong choosing Set-The-Trend Moving & Storage. There are a lot of moving scams out there and it can be scary trying to find a company that will take excellent care of your furniture (and your home) and not hold it hostage at the end, extorting their customers for more money. Due to a…read moremiscommunication (or frankly lack of communication), I had no idea what time the truck was arriving on move in day. I had to dash away for an emergency, but was coming right back. I had instructed the movers about where most large items would go. While I was gone (30 minutes truly) the driver begins harassing me via text, call, etc that he needs to leave ... he is SO rude that I don't feel comfortable speaking with him so I call the main number and no one answers (beyond unprofessional... it was a Monday!). They left without me personally signing off on the move, every single piece of furniture other than the beds is one the wrong room, and the most epic part is the company refuses to respond to any emails and when I finally got the owner on the phone she couldn't have been ruder and actually cursed at me. This company is a joke and they lost two items as well. I plan to make it my mission in 2025 to greatly impact their business and have already gotten the attention of the local realtor association with several phone calls and emails exchanged ... more to follow!
