We needed before and after school care. One of the school nurses recommended CCs. She had observed kids there before and said that she was impressed with how well the teachers worked with some SPED children that were there. When we contacted Michelle, the director, she was very kind in helping us set up a place for our child to be at. Our child was there for three years. CCs is a small, private school/daycare. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, and while younger kiddos can be a ruckus in general...it never felt chaotic or overstimulating. I think it's because all the teachers have the same clear expectations across the board for all their students. They are organized. There's consistency and routine which is important for kids, even more so for a SPED child. CCs also provided a safe place where our child could get behavioral therapy. His aides always commented that the teachers are kind, understanding, consistent with expectations and always willing to work with them. Additionally, many of the teachers there have a background in early education studies. It felt like they were early educators, as opposed to just daycare workers. Communication was also very easy. Michelle is always willing to work with you. Whenever we picked up our child, he was always happy. We could tell that they truly cared about him and for that we are thankful. We were fortunate to have found them when we did.

CC's was a blessing to my family. I am a single mother with minimal help so finding a reliable…read moredaycare who is good and patient with my daughter was vital to me. I have a 4-year-old who is highly energetic and requires extra attention at times. I had a terrible experience with her first daycare (North Fullerton KinderCare) and had to pull her out after experiencing retaliation for reporting a teacher for abuse. I am the sole provider for my family so unfortunately staying home is not an option for me. I visited a couple of different daycares, explained my situation, asked a million questions and ultimately ended up deciding on CC's. My daughter adjusted to the change right away. The teachers were all nice, fun, and patient with her. My daughter doesn't respond well to grouchy teachers or to yelling, she tends to rebel more. Their approach for correcting her behavior worked because they paid attention to the little things that motivated her and their approach was not aggressive but rather compassionate. Michelle is resourceful and willing to help with information and resources, and she is very involved in the day to day. The communication and their way of handling every situation and behavior made all the difference. I knew my daughter was in good hands and because of that I had the peace of mind that I needed to be able to concentrate on work without the added stress that I was experiencing before. CC's was the best decision I ever made. She is now attending public school but I will definitely be taking her back for the summer.

This is the second of a series of reviews I'm composing about small businesses in or around…read moreFullerton that I've come to appreciate over the ~20 years I've lived in this town. The series is precipitated by the knowledge that I will be moving out of Fullerton next year, which already gives me a sense of loss. So let me tell you why Morningside gets all my stars, and a piece of my heart too. Presumably, if you are reading this entry, then you are a local parent in need of juggling a job and childcare, and, so, are considering Morningside. You might be a new parent feeling some anxiety about giving their child over to teachers and staff who they don't know from Adam. I know that I and my wife did. We made calls. We did site visits. Read reviews. But prepare and research as we might, the idea of handing the kids over--literally passing the children over the safety gate to the Toucans' Class--was something that we managed to keep at a distance until the day came. Now, looking back on that day, which happened years ago, I realize that what I was doing was handing our kids over to some of the most caring, loving women I possibly could, ladies who consistently kept the well-being of our kids at heart. Unlike so many yelp reviews nowadays that rate a business without even patronizing the business, this review is written by someone who has sent two kids through Morningside. To learn to care so much for kids who are, in the end, not your own kids, presents challenges that I've not even fathomed. It is easy to get grossed out when your own kid throws up or soils their diapers. It is difficult for me to contain my anger when I see one of my kids throw objects at the other with intent to harm. I challenge you to take a full minute to imagine the patience and compassion required of you to tend to these and other needs of *other parents'* kids, say, when that other kid gets diarrhea or when he bites you on the forearm. Teachers at Morningside succeed on this score. This is one reason I insist that Ms. Katie and Ms. Katrina, Ms. Erica and Ms. Kay, Ms. Kathy and Ms. Heidi, Ms. Julie and Ms. Amanda, Ms. Jenny and Ms. Kelly get all my stars and, yes, a piece of my heart too. Because they continue to love and care for my kids, and because of how they do this. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Montessori of Brea has been an enriching, amazing, and wonderful learning experience for our three…read moredaughters. As a former Montessori student, this school stays true to the Montessori method of teaching. There are plenty of hands-on learning materials that are age appropriate from 2 years old in preschool to 7 years old in K-1. The kids are able to learn at their own pace and enjoy an environment of collaborative play and learning. Every child of mine who entered preschool had their initial episodes of tears and crying in the first few months. But the teachers at Montessori of Brea are so kind with their loving voices, gentle nudges, and guided redirection to help the children focus on their learning and forget about the separation from parents. Ms. Kim was our preschool teacher for our first 2 daughters and is currently teaching our 3 year old. Our whole family LOVES Ms. Kim! When my two older grade school kids come to pick up our baby, they ALWAYS have to come to give Ms. Kim a hug! She is caring, loving, and has great communication with parents at drop off and/or pick up. There are a total of 4 teachers for the classroom, but I'm amazed at Ms. Kim's organization and memory having to be the primary teacher of 28+ kids and knowing each child's ability. I can barely handle remembering my 3! Ms. Dana was our most recent K-1 teacher and she is just as great! Her lessons helped prepare my daughter for school outside of Montessori. Her open communication and constant use of technology helped prepare us for future apps used in grade school. Ms. Dana was very active in providing updates, even sending pictures to all the class parents of special events and personal messages for individual achievements! With the help of ALL the teachers at Montessori of Brea, our oldest daughter got into GATE (Gifted & Talented Education) and is excelling. Our second daughter is reading three grade levels above her current grade and is thriving at her new school thanks to the teachers and Montessori of Brea. I can only give my highest recommendation for this place! I tell all my neighbors and friends in the area about Montessori of Brea because it has helped our children succeed in and out of the classroom.

I grew up attending Montessori schools and my mother is a Montessori teacher, so I know what to look for. After observing different schools in the area and speaking in-depth with the staff, I felt MoB was truly the best place for my brilliant children. The environment and teacher credentials are all authentic, and the classrooms reminded me of my own childhood Montessori schools. If you take a tour, you will observe busy children enthusiastically working with a level of focus you do not see in traditional preschools/kindergartens. The education is top quality, and the staff friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgeable in child development. Three of my children graduated from MoB, with my youngest being the most recent graduate. They were under the exceptional guidance of Ms. Tess (lead teacher and also a music scholar), Ms. Padmini, Ms. Cindy, Ms. Dana, Mr. Vargas, and Ms. Nayna. We are so grateful for their contribution to our children's development. Every one my kids graduated from MoB with high-level reading and math skills, a love for science, strong musical knowledge, a love and respect for nature and the Earth, as well as high self-confidence and independence. My oldest children, now 12 and 10, are in GATE (Gifted and Talented Education program) in the public school system, and continue to excel. I have no doubt my youngest, who recently graduated from MoB, will also qualify for the GATE program. I credit Montessori of Brea for bringing out my children's full potential--they care about the mental, physical, social, emotional, AND academic wellbeing of the child. My kids loved all the hands-on learning at Montessori of Brea, and had so much fun over the years--we go back regularly to visit Ms. Ali and all the lovely teachers and support staff, as we consider them family. P.S. My children attended from age 2 to age 6; best decision ever.

Our two children have been attending Arborland for about two years, and we could not be happier…read morewith our decision to enroll them. Our youngest started in the Toddler classroom with Ms. Karla, while our oldest has been in the Preschool classroom with Ms. Salzman. Watching both of them grow, develop confidence, and genuinely enjoy going to school has been incredibly rewarding and affirms our decision. As a school, Arborland is exceptionally well organized. The campus is clean, secure, and well maintained, and the staff consistently demonstrate professionalism, kindness, and a genuine commitment to the children. Our kids also participate in the extended childcare program, which has been a wonderful experience. They genuinely enjoy that time with their friends and teachers, so much so that there are days when they do not want to leave. One of the main reasons we chose Arborland was because we wanted a more structured Montessori toddler program than what we found at many other nearby schools serving children 18 months and older. Ms. Karla created exactly the environment we were hoping for. She is warm, patient, and incredibly caring, while also setting clear expectations and consistent boundaries that the children understand and respect. We truly appreciated the balance she brings to her classroom. Another aspect we especially valued was that Ms. Karla and her assistant teachers spoke Spanish with our daughter throughout the day. As parents raising bilingual children, having that support reinforced what we practice at home and has been a meaningful part of her early education. The Montessori approach has been an excellent fit for our independent, curious, and strong-willed daughter. She has now transitioned into the Preschool program, and we can already see how well prepared she is thanks to the strong foundation built in the Toddler classroom. We are incredibly grateful to Ms. Karla and her assistant teachers for giving our daughter such a positive start to her educational journey. We also appreciate Ms. Salzman and the entire Arborland team for creating an environment where both of our children continue to learn, grow, and thrive. We wholeheartedly recommend Arborland to families looking for a nurturing, structured, and high-quality Montessori education.

I randomly received personal messages from Ms Karla and Maestra Michelle about my kids' day, their accomplishments, or just something silly they did, with a picture! I cannot express how lucky we are to have teachers that genuinely love the kids so much. It has been such joy to see our kids thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and in every way! I remember when they first started school, they were little people that barely knew how to talk. Day after day, month after month, they started to put words together, making sentences, then started to tell stories about their day at school. One day they surprised me with putting away their own toy! Then another surprise, putting on their own shoes! They learned independence, and courtesy, and so much more! We are so happy that our kids are at Arborland, thriving under lots of love and care. Thank you Arborland! Especially to the teachers and staffs!!

Ms. Orozco was so patient, warm, and encouraging that she made him feel comfortable right away. Over time, we watched him slowly open up, and before long he was actually excited to go to school. He would come home talking about her and everything he was learning, and it was such a joy to see how much confidence she helped him build. She truly helped him break out of his shell, and we are amazed by how much he learned this year. Ms. Orozco is truly an exceptional teacher. My daughter had Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Tan as she entered 2nd grade, and she was also a little shy because she didn't know anyone. They were so kind and supportive and really encouraged her to make new friends and feel like she belonged. We saw such wonderful growth in her throughout the year, both emotionally and academically, and that means so much to us as parents. It was clear that they truly care about their students and want to see them succeed. We also want to thank the front office staff, who were always great and made communication easy throughout the year. They were helpful, welcoming, and always pleasant to work with. The principal is also very attentive and approachable, which made us feel even more confident in the school. Overall, we are so grateful for the love, support, and dedication shown to our children this year. It was a wonderful first year, and we truly appreciate everyone who played a part in helping our kids grow and feel happy at school. However, last year (2024-2025 school year) things changed. I first noticed there were some teachers that left from the previous school year, and some other "minor" changes. Most importantly, the teachers my child had were amazing for Kindergarten! There were truly awesome from the beginning to end. Unfortunately, the administrative staff did not provide the students with a Kindergarten picture and a class picture like the year prior. I personally feel those are important memories for the families and the children. Then as the school year went on, I noticed there were less activities than the prior year. Once the school year ended, MORE great and awesome teachers left the school!!!! I have prior experience working in education and from what I know and have seen, when there is so much teacher turnover year after year, it is because more than likely the administrative staff is not taking care of the teachers. This school has had a tremendous reputation for many many years, however it seems like things are on the decline and yet tuition is going up.
