This gym also has a smell of cat litter. Not sure if it's the rubber floors or what, but the bottom floor really stinks. Other than those two, a gym is a gym and I'm there to work out. The sauna is nice and gets very hot.

The owner, Dan Owens, instructs these classes often and will absolutely crush your upper and lower body in the best possible way. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure every person in the room knows what to do and helps with form if necessary and welcomed. Another great perk is access to the locker rooms and saunas. I feel the entire facility is kept clean and organized. I love the big windows everywhere which allow for a ton of natural light to come inside. I also enjoy using the indoor/outdoor green space on the bottom floor which has a garage door that can open and close depending on the weather. Very nice during Spring, Summer and early Fall. I never feel like I have to wait for equipment to free up, and they do offer complimentary towels at the front desk upon check-in. This athletic club is on ClassPass and I typically just purchase gym time using a couple credits or I sign up for the circuit or conditioning classes.

You have lots of choices of traditional gyms in the area. They all suffer from the same issue:…read morecorporately-run, sales-oriented operations coupled with decades-old body-image shaming favored by the health industry and terrible client culture. This is the solution if you're looking to add lean muscle mass, enjoy getting to know other gym members and like the daily involvement of a knowledgeable, fun, and dedicated owner. And for women who are intimidated by lifting and strength training, this is your breakthrough solution because many of the women members are seasoned competitive lifters of all ages. To be clear, you're not going to find a room full of cardio machines or a schedule of yoga classes. Roswell Barbell is focused on building strength and has all the equipment you need to accomplish this goal. Despite its small size, there's plenty of equipment to use. I've been going for six months, starting as a white collar novice lifter who had never used a barbell in his life and didn't understand how chalk was used. The team here has supported my training, taught me the skills, and made it fun, healthy, and respectful. Now, I spend 3-4 days a week lifting heavy things, challenging my body to get stronger, and learning from some of the best athletes. I leave chalky and exhausted, and motivated to come back again. Strength training is one component of health and gyms like Roswell Barbell are exactly what people need, not the terrible big box gyms full of corporate salespeople and terribly unhealthy messaging.

When I signed up for the gym with the manager I explained how I'm a single mom with a 15 month old and now I can only work out if I bring her with me. They had just opened a kids club so it was perfect, and I even asked about it closing and what would happen. She told me that I would have at least 1 month notice since you pay for first month and last month when you sign up for both memberships but she also stressed that it will not be closing cause it is doing great and was in high demand. I even have in writing that she does remember telling these things. They closed kids club without warning, not a call or text or email, a piece of paper taped to the door on the final night. I was upset since that's the whole reason I joined this gym and we got a utilize it for less than two months and I've already prepaid for a month that I cannot use now. I was told I had to reach out to corporate about getting my prepaid money refunded to me and there was nothing else they would do for me. I asked for my annual fee refund since I was there for less than 2 months and didn't wanna leave. I was told no since " I'm the one choosing to end my membership", and how I'm welcome to continue my membership without bring my daughter. As I explained to the manager when I first started , that simply isn't an option for me , I quite literally have to bring her with me or I can't go. When I spoke to Corporate I was told that I can take the refund for the prepaid month or I can choose to escalate, but she will purposely mark my request as " none need to Escalate" To ensure nobody calls me back. She said I can accept the month refund and stop asking for my annual fee refund or she will make sure I get refunded NOTHING. So she basically told me to shut up or they will keep my prepaid month for a program that they shut down and now a unless membership. I have to pay an annual fee and start all over at new gym now. I'm beyond disappointed. I don't care that it's no Annual fee refunds in their policy, I think good customer service for something that's out of my hands would be to give me that refund. I will say that the staff at this location have always been kind and taken great care of my daughter when kids club was open, I'm just beyond frustrated with how this has been handled.
