I gave birth in December, and she came to the hospital to see me. She asked me to come to her clinic in a week's time for baby's first check-up. A week later, my husband and I arrived at the practice only to be told that Dr. Glann was out on vacation and that a new doctor was filling in. That was fine. What was not fine was being made to wait almost TWO HOURS with a one-week-old baby. I protested many times and asked that we could get seen sooner rather than later so we wouldn't have to sit in a crowded waiting room full of sick children, exposing our newborn to god knows what. Their solution? Wait outside, in the cold. I wanted to leave, but I didn't have a backup pediatrician and I wanted to make sure my newborn was OK. I was tired, sore, having breastfeeding issues, and worried that my baby was not eating enough. When we finally did see the doctor, two hours later, I noticed how dirty the exam room was. We were not given any assurances or apologies, just told to be on our way. The next day, I found a new pediatrician and left a detailed complaint with the front office. The office has continued to send me a bill, even though my insurance has covered everything, and even if they hadn't, I wouldn't dream of giving this place a cent after how they treated a new mother. Halfway through the visit, my 2 month old began crying. To quiet him, Dr. Usem put his ungloved, unwashed hand inside my baby's mouth to quiet him. I was shocked and horrified but at that point it was too late to say anything because it had already been done. Fortunately my pandemic baby didn't get sick or anything but it made me as a parent sick to my stomach. This happened last year in early 2020 and I was meaning to write this sooner to warn other pandemic parents but it kept slipping my mind. I hope that they have upped their sanitation and PPE requirements with all that is going on with COVID. I never came back to this office after that.

She was on call when our son was born so we met her in the hospital, and now again today (a year later) when we needed to speak to the on call doctor about an injury my son just had. From that first interaction to this one, Dr. Miller has made us feel like insufficient, blundering parents. Today my son accidentally got hold of a clothes hanger and cut the inside of his mouth. I obviously already feel like a terrible parent, and the questions she asked, and the way she asked them, were so condensing and judgmental ("does he often play with hangers?") it pushes me into an even deeper feeling of insufficiency and guilt and is entirely unhelpful in trying to assess if my child needs additional care. When trying to describe what happened, she asked for pictures and I asked a clarifying question and she laughed at me and responded in a way that made me feel so stupid for asking. She was like this the day he was born as well, trying to push us into make a fast decision on a very important topic that we learned later we actually had weeks to decide on. As a parent, this is the last person I want to answer the phone when I'm at my most vulnerable, panicking about a situation, and need advice. I would not advise working with Dr. Miller.

She's funny, she's real laid back in the most professional kind of way, she's smart and easy to talk to as a parent. She takes time to answer all our questions, and makes sure to ask us questions. She's far from uptight or reserved and we really like that about her. She's fun! We def are first time parents and have 1000000 & 1 questions every time we see her. Half the time she laughs and tells us we're doing a great job and keep doing it and the other time she elaborates to us what really getting at: what should we be feeding our son? Is there anything we can be doing to make sure he develops the best way possible? Yada yada yada. They're pretty on time. We've never had any problem scheduling an appointment. There's a playground next door. It's a few blocks from Elmwood if we need lunch. They have a 24 hour hot-line with a nurse which I'm not gonna lie: we've called probably about 20x this first year: is his head flat, he has a splinter, why is his butt so red, etc... Parking (in the back) can be hard, it's shared with the post office and another office. Sometimes you can find parking in the front (park street) and around the corner, but you have to pay. Overall, my kids love coming here, there is a place in the waiting room that they can color and then after the visit, you used to get a lollipop and sticker, but now you can get a token to choose your prize like a bouncy ball, sticky hands etc, or you can opt for just a huge square sticker. The bandages they give after they give a shot or anything is also always cute, like transformers, dogs, cats, etc. Someone is always greeting you at the front and super friendly. The wait is not long after you check in. (It used to take awhile but recently it has been quick) I left for a year due to insurance change but was eager to come back after I got back my old insurance.

I then get an amazing sonography "Jordan" who made the room feel so cozy and he made me feel safe and comfortable, it was hard to keep my eyes open I was so comfortable . Normally I freak out when I see men in OBGYN but Jordan was like no other. Once Jordan is finished another doctor (I forget her name) comes in. She's stunning, outfit was amazing and her spirit was unmatched.
