Master Shin, along with his assistant instructors and Masters, is a consistent positive influence for the MPBBA community of students. The school balances traditional Korean teachings with the influence of US culture, and is a family-oriented environment appropriate for students of any age. Master Shin has impressive patience, energy, and teaching ability with the Tiny Tigers, as he finds just the right balance of instruction, discipline, and fun. The kids don't get away with anything in class, yet you will see them laughing and smiling while learning. He teaches the Tiny Tigers step-by-step, adapting to the needs of each child. Master Shin cares about each student, and is in constant communication with parents about how their child is feeling and performing (both in taekwondo and at home/school). With the adult students, Master Shin is a great motivator. As with the kids, he is able to adapt to all types of learning styles and physical abilities. The knowledge and purpose behind the techniques he teaches makes you appreciate the art of taekwondo. His enthusiasm and dedication to the sport is infectious, and he provides the tools you need to see continuous improvement. The element I appreciate most about MPBBA is the feeling of community they promote. Despite being an adult new to the sport and in a class with Black Belts, I was genuinely welcomed and made to feel comfortable in an environment that could otherwise be intimidating. Master Shin and all his students are encouraging, friendly, and sincere.

My son's coordination has greatly improved these past 2 years and he has grown more confident in his abilities. He looks forward to class twice a week.

Sensei Jim and Sensei Diana are phenomenal. All of the staff is wonderful. They are a staple in the community and teach so much that in our present day has been forgotten. They are now expanding to offer cardio kicking boxing classes, yoga classes for adults and children!

I guess I am in the minority of the reviewers here, but I think this place could be run better…read more First, the things the instructors could improve: -There is not much discipline. Students act up and the instructors aren't strict enough. -There is no order. The classes are disorganized. You have too many different levels of students mixed together to run any kind of meaningful class. -There is no accountability. Everyone gets a stripe at the end of class whether they learned the lesson correctly or not. Then when it comes time to belt test, they don't know the skill. Next on to the biggest overall problem that isn't the fault of the instructors: -The parents. The parents are obnoxious. They stay and watch classes. They talk loud and the chatter is totally rude and distracting so the instructors can't focus the students. The parents let their young toddler run all over the place and make noise while their older siblings are trying to concentrate and learn. How can students be expected to focus and learn when the parents can't even be polite and respectful? Most of them seem like they don't care if their children get anything out of the lesson. Sensei Jim and the other instructors are all very nice and do seem to try hard. They are very good with the kids and have a lot to offer. To me, it seems if there were a separate waiting area for the parents, that would take care of half the issue. Then, some restructuring of the classes and more discipline could make it a much more effective school.

Overall the reformer Pilates class was a good experience. The workout itself was fairly basic, and well-scripted. The instructor clearly guided us through each movement, which made it accessible and easy to follow and asked in the beginning of the class if anyone had injuries or limitations where movements would need to be modified. The studio felt comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, with just the right amount of space between people and equipment. It felt clean, calm, and exactly what you'd want from a Pilates studio. At the end of the intro class, they went over membership options, which was expected. The universal membership is close to $300/month, but unfortunately the studio closest to me in Howell doesn't participate, so it doesn't make sense for me personally. That said, the instruction and studio experience was good, and It's absolutely something on my bucket list but unfortunately I didn't get past this initial class so I can't explain much on what happens in the actual class, ease of booking, considering other reviews., etc. Good luck!

In the past 15 years I've developed extreme constant lower back pain and in the past 5 years put on a lot of weight bc of it. For years my fiancé would have to help me out of bed every morning. Sitting up was not something I could do on my own. After 5 classes at club Pilates I've already noticed that I've gained muscle tone back all over my body AND I can actually get myself out of bed on my own the majority of the time. My core has gotten stronger to the point where the pain in my lower back has actually decreased!!! Club Pilates is affordable with great instructors. And Pilates itself is a life savor in my eyes. I never thought I'd be able to walk, sleep or move like I was 39 years old again. I thought I was doomed to have a body 20 years older than it was. Club Pilates has renewed my hope that I can live a normal life again! On top of all that...I actually love going! I've never enjoyed working out but I look forward to every class. My shape is starting to revert back to my college cheerleading days and I'm smiling while it's happening!!! I 100% recommend Club Pilates, especially the ocean plaza location to everyone looking to improve their life in any way! See you there!!!!
