I really wanted to love this place. I've had very positive experiences with acupuncture in the past but I've since moved and was looking for a place closer to home. I wish I had read the yelp reviews more carefully because I would have known to ask for Deborah. I would expect holistic healthcare practitioners to be patient and non judgmental but that was not my experience with Adam. Even though my first visit was not great I bought the 3-visit package because I was so desperate for relief. I followed his instructions to change my diet (no cold foods) and took the herbs he prescribed. I finally stopped taking the herbs after a couple weeks (Adam was not pleased, "Do you WANT to get better??") because they come in a powder form that does not dissolve in water. The taste is almost unbearable. I wish Adam had told me sooner that the herbs can be purchased in pill form. I did begin to feel better and believe that diet, herbs, and acupuncture are healing. I'm going to look for a different practitioner to continue my treatment. read more

This was my first experience with acupuncture. I decided to give acupuncture a try after a friend suggested that it may help me with some of the medical issues I was having. I wasn't getting the answers I was looking for after a number of visits to doctor's offices so I decided to give it a try. Honestly at this point I wasn't sure what to expect but was willing to try anything to feel better. I was also looking for a healthy alternative to prescription drugs. Acupuncturist, Abigail was simply AMAZING! She is very patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly I believe she genuinely cares about my overall health and wellbeing. This is a FANTASTIC place. I am a 45-year-old man. I had never been to an acupuncturist in my life prior to going to Full Circle. I had a headache that would not go away for ninth months. I had been injured in a collision playing softball. I had been to medical doctors, osteopathic physicians, and a chiropractor. I went to Debroah years ago for relief from siatica pain. I was very pleased with her work, but ended up getting my acupuncture covered through my insurance and went elsewhere. Well, I quickly learned that all needlers are not the same. I went to two different acupuncturists through my insurance and neither matched up to Deborah. More recently I started going back to Full Circle and seeing Adam (not because I didn't like Deborah, Adam's schedule worked better for me). He is just as wonderful as Deborah. In addition to regular visits for my siatica pain, I went to Adam for releif from a cold. I've continued to see him through the first three months of my pregnancy and will continue to do so throughout my pregnancy and after. He was able to help me with the nausea associated with early pregnancy and with my every day aches and pains. He utilizes a special "prescription" for pregnancy to help stabalize the pregnancy. I have full confidence in him. Both of them work magic. They are both skilled and there is no pain when they needle. They both give you their full attention and make you feel as if you are their only client. They ask questions, check your toungue, and check your pulses each and every time you go in. Each is very personable and you feel like they truly care about you and making you feel better, no matter what you ailement. I feel like they listen to me and my body and that each visit is customized just for me and my needs at that time. I really can't say enough about this needling team. I'd rather pay for my visits out of pocket to see Adam (or Deborah) than go to someone through my insurance where I feel "like a number". read more

I went to Deborah for some work related stress and anxiety about a year ago. I have to admit it only took the edge off, but I don't blame the acupuncture I think I just let the stress and anxiety build up too much for Eastern medicine plus the anti-depressants probably didn't help matters. I did have her do some pain management on my ankle from a sports related injury from years ago and WOW it did wonders. So I had a pretty bad case of tendonitis in my elbow and went to see my GP and you guessed it.."Here is a prescription for some pain meds and a referral to get a cortisone shot." This was the third time I've received acupuncture here. I went there on August 10th after almost a year of no appointments. I developed three bruises that day. One was a large bruise on my left arm. A second bruise was on my hand and a third, near my waist. Three weeks later I still have a mark from the bruise on my arm. That's a long time for a bruise. Additionally, after Deborah told me I would have a bruise on my arm, she put something on it and rubbed it. It was already sore so rubbing it didn't help, and even felt painful. She also applied a topical ointment with menthol in it, to relax my neck muscles. But I do not like the scent of menthol. FYI-Some people have allergies to fragrances and multiple chemical sensitivities. I emailed her about my experience and received no response. I won't be returning. read more

A couple of months ago, a friend of mine highly recommended I see Adam Mindell at Full Circle Acupuncture for both acupuncture and herbs. I saw him first about six weeks ago for several health concerns. I have experienced a lot of acupuncture over the years, and I can say that Adam seems very skilled with the needles - no pain, and a light touch, and that is worth a lot! I appreciated his thorough intake, the skill evident in his treatment, and his sense of humor. The office is cozy and nice, in a quiet area of La Mesa with free parking. Within two sessions, some of my symptoms had abated and my system was rebounding. That's faster than I might have imagined. I will continue to see Adam as long as it takes until I stabilize, as I know systemic change can take awhile, and I will probably continue to see him periodically for a "booster." Let me tell you a little but about my accupuncture experience. First off, I was as skeptical as they come when I started looking into accupuncture. Like how in the world could sticking needles on your body make you feel better? I kind of understand it if you have a specific part of your body that hurts, but I had a complicated problem. The pain started in my abdomin then moved to my back and legs, and eventually every day I hurt from my head to my toes. I had multiple tests done. Doctors were clueless. I almost gave up trying to figure it out and tried to live with it. Then, one night when I was up in pain, I looked up accupuncture online. The results people were claiming to have were unbelievable. But I still had my doubts. The next day, I started researching good acupuncturists in my area and stumbled across this gem of a place. I gave them a call and asked a ton of questions. I'm sure the doctor knew I was a bit skeptical so she reassured me and gave me lots of information. When I went in for my appointment a few days later, I was greeted with the same care. She was very thorough in my consultation and decided on a treatment plan. Basically it was a few needles all over my body. I didn't have to undress and it was a very easy procedure. I am terrified of needles, but these were more like a tiny poke that you could barely feel. I then was left in the room for 30 minutes with relaxing music and fell asleep. After it was done, I stood up and literally felt no pain. Eating anything prior to my appointment left me feeling horrible pains. I went home and had dinner and felt nothing! I would say that one visit for me has taken 90% of my pain away! I don't understand it and probably never will but I am definitely a believer now! I will be recommending all of my friends and family to go get this done. It is so worth it. And best of all, there are no side effects. read more

About a year ago, I experienced serious skin issues, eczema, severe rashes on my inner arms, neck, and chest area. My face was turning hard and my skin was literally cracking, peeling and bleeding. My lips were constantly peeling off, never soft. My ears were constantly inflamed too. I went to several doctors and practitioners, no one could help me. They gave me creams, steroids, etc. to try but nothing helped. They wanted to put me on high doses of Prednisone a "cure all" drug that doesn't cure it just shuts down your immune system along with all inflammation. However, this drug has major side effects, stays in your system for years and it doesn't resolve my health issue. I chose not to take the drug. Instead, I went to see Adam. He was convinced he could help me. Of course, I did have to make some changes. He told me to stay away from wheat, dairy, flour and sugar which lower your immune system. I was pretty desperate. It took about 4 sessions before I noticed my skin coming back. I still have slight symptoms. But I look 90% better. My husband and co-workers are amazed that I am starting to look like me again.
