    New York roll
    Jill R.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I was craving sushi and ramen last night for dinner. I ordered miso soup, the New York roll, and the tonkotsu ramen. The miso soup came with a lot of seaweed and tofu. The broth was delicious. Next came the sushi. I had never ordered the New York roll, so I decided to give it a go. It was a salmon skin sushi roll. I enjoyed all of the flavors and especially the crunch of the salmon skin. Finally, came a large bowl of ramen. The broth was so tasty. I think my favorite part was the ramen itself. My daughter loves making instant ramen at home, but I'm not a fan. I like the taste and texture of authentic ramen, which is what you will find at Fujiya. It was so very good.

There are 2 sushi restaurants right across the street from another in this location, but this one was open for lunch and the other one isn't. So I visited here on a Monday for lunch and although there were only 2 other customers, it was sort of slow. They do play upbeat music in the background but the vibe was fairly quiet/dismal during this time. Maybe it would be better in the evening with more customers. After briefly looking at the menu, it was easy to see their prices are reasonable, especially for appetizers. I ordered the yellowtail jalapeno and tonkotsu black ramen. First out was the app, which were 6 thinly sliced yellowtail each with a slice of jalapeno and sriracha over green onions in a ponzu sauce. They were delicious and not to mention a pretty good deal. Supposed to come with kimchi, but thats fine, I didn't complain. Then came the ramen, also fairly quickly to the table and it was a nicely sized bowl. There were 3 pork slices in the bowl and a half egg, with all the other accompaniments (fish cake, green onions, seaweed, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, etc.) . The broth was thick and filling and tasted pretty good. For the price, I am guessing this is probably the best ramen in NE Houston by far. And not a bad price either. Looking forward to my next visit on another weekday lunch since they're close enough to my work I can make it here.

Got a craving for some sushi while I was in the area for work from out of state and glad I tried it. Ordered a couple rolls and a hot sake. Was surprised that there weren't to many customers on a Saturday night. The sushi rolls were very good and the service was friendly. Food definitely tasted fresh which is an instant plus when getting any seafood. I did find it strange that sitting at the bar you still have to order from a server. The places I frequent in Southern California when I am home let you order directly from the sushi chef when sitting at the bar.overall I give them a 4 and would come back if I was back in the area.

They have a wonderful selection of food. I have been going to Tai Li for years & now they have merged! Next trip we will have the ramen!

First time here. Ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork. Flavor 10/10, spice 10/10, portion 10/10. I also ordered the sampler plate. Those little snackables were fried perfectly and very tasty! I'd order that again for sure too.

Started eating sushi less a year ago. Love everything cooked, so raw sushi is not my style. Decided to check this spot out. Lots on the menu to choose from, but I stick to what I know. California and Shaggy Dog. Saki drink was new to me, was hot and a different type of drink for the first time with a unusual taste, but ok! Food was delicious as you can see. Not to mention got to this place one hour before closing and waiter wanted to rush me to order before closing at 9pm. I took my time and then ordered. Then so rude, moping near tables with bleach while still eating with a few customers still inside. Well damn, so much in a hurry to leave but not considering people eating! Didn't feel like tipping but I did anyways, but never again I'll be back. Low class operation of business. Food was good, but service deserves no star at all.

Absolutely amazing annndd affordable! I live close so they also offer free delivery and contact less delivery. The food arrive quickly, was still warm, and most importantly was INCREDIBLE. I really liked the curry sauce. Customer service is great also! I've dined in before and the space is nice. Sushi boat is also really cool!

    Black garlic tonkotsu ramen.

Haven't tried all the items on the menu however the ramen here is superb compared to all others in the houston area. And we've been to a lot trying to find something g close to japan and this is it. Might be a bold statement coming from a brown man but I have my Japanese wife straight from the mother land to back that up lol

Great change of pace from the other delivery options in town. If you want to dine-in there is rarely a wait. The food is excellent!

The teppanyaki show was fun, engaging, and very well done, and everything we tried tasted fresh and flavorful. The sushi was also surprisingly good. I ordered the Firecracker Roll and the King Maki, and both were excellent. For appetizers, we tried the Crab Puffs and the Hayashi Style Fried Calamari, which were great starters and full of flavor. The complimentary soup that comes with the meal was pretty good as well and a nice way to start the dining experience. The hibachi itself was also very good, and the menu offers a wide variety of meats to choose from depending on what you're in the mood for. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because of the service. Our server made us feel a bit rushed during the visit, which took away slightly from the overall experience. Aside from that, the food and the teppanyaki performance were excellent, and I would definitely come back.

The undone noodles had to be premade because they were so gummy . I never had Habachi without noodles being cooked on the grill . Every state is different but yeah they were gross.. no exaggeration. They melt before you chew My veggie Habachi was good 6/10.. I wouldn't go back though . Just not my favorite I had had in Houston . The group collectively said it was okay . The waiter was all over the place and I'm sure she was struggle because we had a big party. However a native who eats here all the time said this wasn't the best they had when they come here so the food was mid . Encourage anyone to try . We all taste different !!

We stood by the host stand while multiple employees grabbed stuff from the host stand or around the host stand, but not once were we acknowledged. I believe how customers are greeted sets the tone for the place, and the bar was set very very low. We decided to give this place a chance and now we have cemented the fact that it sucks. We checked in with a family of 5 and were hit with a 20-minute wait for the hibachi dinner. HOWEVER, we were seated within less than 5 minutes with another family of 4 that was already seated. As we were looking over the menu to order, the waiter came over to take our drink order. As he was taking the order, I overheard him talking to the Mom of the seated party. He was apologizing for the long wait that they had been partaking in. Mind you, this is only the drink order. In actuality, the other party was waiting for 45 minutes! After our drinks came out, he took our food order. We inputted our order and waited for the chef to come. As we were waiting though, the table and party, directly and across from us, had their chef show up, cook, show out and serve their food. We had a salad, soup and appetizer come out as we waited. This is normal with mostly all dinners. During this time, we were told that we are just waiting for a chef to finish up at another table, so they can come over and serve our party. Here's the get down; -The seafood that was ordered was overcooked because our chef kept leaving the grill to grab other things. *Shrimp, Scallops and Lobster -Having chicken and steak could also be a factor because it takes longer to cook. But still, the seafood was tough and chewy. -Fried Rice was cooked well done and was served before any other dishes. -Steak was cooked, but we had different styles we needed and wanted (Mid Rare and Mid Well), and they were both cooked the same (Well Done) :( -The sushi shrimp crunch roll was perfect! -Shrimp tempura appetizer was a great Also, EVERYTHING is cooked with the same sauces and amount of spices that they bring out. UNLESS, you tell them that you don't want it, they'll cooke everything the same.
