El Mirador was perched on a cliff to our right tempting us as we swam, so as we were finished with the beach for the day we decided to enjoy a late lunch there. The food was wonderful - I had the Menorca cod with peppers and potatoes, my partner had the grilled squid, and our daughter had grilled salmon. We also enjoyed the garlic bread, strawberry and avocado salad, and some wonderful ice cream desserts. El Mirador had wonderful views and was a great end to a perfect beach day. If we were on the island longer we definitely would have returned for dinner.

We also enjoyed the mussels whihc were fresh, juicy, and very impressive. Generally, mussels are usually only act ass a vessel for which to consume whatever delicious broth they come in...and though the broth was tasty, it was deceptively simple. It was just a standard creamy buttery garlic sauce, which really allowed the plump, juicy mussels to shine. Delicate flavors, but warm and wonderful...we were really surprised at how much the mussels took on the flavor and texture of the creamy broth. Another simple yet fantastic treat we had was the tomato bread which is exactly what it sounds like: toasted bread topped with diced tomatoes. The tomatoes were seasoned simply with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Overall, very tasty and picturesque spot.

It's up the hill and behind the main strip through town, which really means a walk of only about five minutes! A little random-looking from the outside, but nicer inside. In most towns, the restaurants that are off the tourist strip tend to deliver better value, which I think is the case here. We were greeted warmly and sat out on the covered patio. Had some nice, cold beers. The bathroom was one of the most modern and clean that I had seen anywhere in the Catalunya area. My house salad with "dried fruits and nuts" turned out to be peanuts and raisins, but most other things looked good and my wife was pleased with her pizza. I'd do it again...

The food was a masterpiece of Spanish flavors; perfectly grilled seafood, local paella, prawns, seafood, fish, gourmet aioli and wine that all tasted wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive. Everything aligned for us; food, view, and atmosphere. I was pure magic.
