We were in PR visiting family last week. Tried multiple street kiosks and local cafes, but…read more eventually pined for a sit down with service restaurant. We found this place searching for a different location. It was a great find! The place was very pleasantly designed, the bathrooms were clean, and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious! The food was also very reasonably priced. There were six in our party. I had the Churasco steak, and a bowl of Cream of pumpkin soup. My sister had the New York Strip steak. My brother-in-law had the Dorado. My niece and nephew had super sized Cheeseburgers. And my daughter had an appetizer of Mozzarela sticks. The dinners came with a choice of sides, we all had Rice and Beans, and the burgers came with fries. The plating was beautiful. All adults (4) had frozen cocktails, and the kids had sodas. We had (4) desserts , (3) Nutella Cheesecakes, and one Creme Brulee. All entree's were to die for, and totalled only $114, a bargain! I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone searching for a good place to dine in the Vega Baja PR area. I certainly will return when I am in PR again!

Easily better than any ceviche I've had in the DC area. The Alfredo pasta was also very good, super flavorful, but I'd recommend asking for it on a plate instead of a bowl. It comes with a lot of sauce and butter so the bowl makes it a bit much. Overall great food and definitely worth the stop. The ambiance is also very nice looking.

El Nuevo Authentico was one of the many fast-casual establishments we visited just a hop and a skip…read morefrom Playa de Vega Baja. It's a brick-and-mortar establishment with outdoor and indoor seating serving "tacos" (actually what we'd call empanadas!), beautiful golden alcapurias and other typical Puerto Rican snacks filled with various types of seafood as well as beef and chicken; "vasos" with seafood; jugos naturales; and various other seafood and non-seafood dishes with mofongo or other sides. (Menu here: https://l.ead.me/bbZiCZ) There was a fellow at the "door" (chain), possibly the owner, who allowed people in and out of the restaurant and who seemed actively unfriendly and unhelpful to us. But once we sat inside, our waitress was very nice. We speak horrible Spanish and she was kind enough to indulge us, but also kind enough to switch to English when our attempts fell flat. You can either order your food to eat out front at three tables or sit down within the restaurant for service. We sat on the cordoned off patio with bar stool style seating. My vaso des camarones was nicely made with large shrimp marinated with onion and sweet peppers. It was fairly sized for $10. The non-seafood snacks are jaw-droppingly inexpensive for New Yorkers (about $2 for most), but if you stick around for large plates (e.g. fried snapper), these are more spendy -- around $25-30. The non-seafood-eating contingent enjoyed their chicken and beef "tacos," thrilled that they didn't have to eat any vegetables.

I have to say that the rellenos de papas here are great, and we go often just for those. But the…read morestaff is never friendly and always acts like you are a bother to them. I could understand if it was a one time thing, but it's every time. I worked in food service for 5 years, and management needs to step up and require the employees to be friendly. That's good customer service. If that would improve, I would give a higher score.
